  1. In hindsight, I should have said "We shouldn't use this as an example". Reduced dinner buffet was already going on well before 2023
  2. Congrats on finding the site, it's a great searching tool especially if you want to see multiple cruise lines. No, I don't use travel agents
  3. We can't use this as an example because this isn't anything new. This was EXACTLY how the dinner buffet was on the Millie when I was on her Panama canal repo this past Sept-Oct. Someone even reported this reduced Millie dinner buffet a few sailings before the repo. Others are reporting far less on other ships
  4. Never heard of that, thanks for sharing. And I thought the Alaska ships going out of Seattle spending only 4 hours in Victoria (no other foreign ports) was bad
  5. This is new, never had a problem receiving drinks at the Martini Bar. Café al Bacio isn't a bar so no surprise there. Usually the print out paper simply says not available at Craft Social and the World Bar even if the ship doesn't have them
  6. I suppose X making better tasting quality food is out of the question...
  7. You wonder if someone got fired for the mistake...I purchase 7 of them
  8. FYI for those who don't know...On Carnival you still get one night of free lobster...However, in the complimentary restaurants they offer "steak house selections" where for an upcharge you get your choice of a new steaks or a petite filet and tail for a $23 up charge. The biggest benefit about this is you get a specialty dining entree without needing a specialty dining dinner reservation which seem impossible to obtain on X before 9pm once on board. If X goes in this direction it would be welcomed however, the fear is eventually they'll remove free lobster like NCL
  9. Not sure what you're asking, I've been cruising since 2009 and am still cruising despite the fares and executive compensation increasing while passenger products/services decline. I both cruise and take land based vacations
  10. Another tip is when you first enter you stateroom is to check to see if you have laundry forms and if not to ask for TWO laundry forms from your attendant assuming you want pressing and an item dry cleaned. If you're significant other has status as well you can both use the same form(s)
  11. Sorry for you loss, sounds like he'd want you to continue to enjoy cruising
  12. VV is known as having the best tasting food at sea, beating out ultra luxury lines according to many reviewers. They also have a large selection and it's available far more often than other cruise lines. If you're a foodie, VV is the line for you
  13. It's NOT a good example as it isn't apples to apples. A local deli sells your favorite sandwich for $10 and now increased the price to $15; if you don't see the value you have the option to NOT buy it Many already have sailings booked and had certain dining expectations
  14. There isn't a singular reason such as the cruise-line-friendly changes that affect stock price yet the largest contributor would be bookings. RCG could charge for everything from the buffet, pool and each show but it won't matter if folks aren't booking
  15. Absolutely agree; even worse was on the Solstice they didn't off a steak every night; the timeless classic NY strip wasn't on the MDR menu every night
  16. Mind sharing WHAT changed? As in, did the upgrade fee increase, are upgrades outright eliminated, etc
  17. Correct, just to clarify why one should call in: -BCC only has a certain number of staterooms per sailing, hence why they'll ask for a choice of three -BCC has been known to book a room in one of your selected sailings without calling you so you have no choice of the room or location. You can call them and change the room but if you need to call why not just call them in the beginning -If there are still upgrades, you can find out if they're available -
  18. Only issue is picking a specific location but getting a move up room that’s under a noisy location such a pool deck or the gym
  19. This is the exact problem, they don't know Current example, how do they know what the response will be by implementing a $9.95 room service charge at all times? Previous example, ears ago they took away the pillow chocolate and due to complaints and came back and is still happening today
  20. Book HAL unless you see the value in paying the extra costs for X's entertainment
  21. X does have lots of booking data, they'll without a doubt focus on what's the most profitable which is the Retreat. Based on passengers I spoke to, those in the upper suites are repeat customers who tried a lower level suite previously
  22. Come to think of it, that 24 hour pass for $50 was in the physical daily planner and may have been a special. Since I had the internet I didn't dive into the details, just saw $50 for a 24 hour wi-fi pass
