  1. Did you email it or fax it? Does it have to be signed if email?
  2. Yes! This is exactly what happened to me. But unfortunately today my cabin is $100 more pp than yesterday than when I booked it. I've been on hold for about 20 minutes now with Princess. Hope they answer soon.
  3. I tried to do that but my TA said once I get a booking # from Princess I have to put down the deposit first. The computer was asking for $800 but I have 2 FCDs I want to use. I guess I have to call Princess first.
  4. Yesterday I put a hold on a reservation be ause my TA was off. Today I called her to finish the reservation and she told me since I made it I would have to finish it myself and then request to have it transferred to her. I was now contacted by a Princess cruise consultant to finish the reservation. If I use him can I still have it transferred to my TA?
  5. I, too, always liked to discuss our cruises here on cruise critic but it seems the majority use the other site. In fact there are three different groups there and they all repeat the same things. I think they have some activities planned but it's hard to tell. Usually here someone offers to set up a meet and greet, slot pull, bar crawl, gift exchange, etc. There it's just a haphazard check box if you plan to attend. Has anyone looked at excursions yet? One that I might be interested in says limited availability, only 5 spots left. I thought it was a little too early to book but maybe not. They said that Jiji's chinese restaurant is already sold out every night.
  6. Enjoying your review. Ours is in April and seems so far away but we are on the Venezia in February. Soa little closer
  7. Looking at some of the ship excursions for our cruise, some say there is a minimum number of participants. Do most excursions reach this number? I would hate to reserve an excursion in advance and then once on the ship find out it's cancelled because lack of interest. On the other hand I would be disappointed if I waited to book on board and find out that it is sold out or prices are higher. Any thoughts?
  8. I've only cruised two Carnival ships, Legend and Pride and did not see any chicken wings. Maybe they are on other ships? We use to love those on NCL in O'Sheehans but since they changed from fried to baked, not so much.
  9. In 2015 we stayed in 8566 a sideways obstructed ov. Half the cruise there was no tender there. The other half we could look right through the tender. The cabin seemed much larger too.
  10. Thanks for sharing your experience. We have reserved a rental car for our day in Port Canaveral but now am second guessing it. We have to return it before 6pm and if the ship is delayed for any reason it doesn't give us much time. At Ocean Kay which beach is less rocky? Also which beach has less sea lice? In Nassau did you walk to Margaritaville or take a taxi?
  11. Just came off our second experience on Carnival with the Carnival Pride. Our CD was Frankie Portera. He was very friendly and bubbly and was always visible around the ship. But he spoke so fast that it was sometimes a chore to understand him, especially on stage. His #1 fun squad person was Edwin from Mexico. He was the host at the Punchliners comedy club and trivia. His accent was so thick that it was also hard to understand him, especially for trivia. I went twice then gave up. Otherwise I did enjoy all that Carnival offers. I particularly enjoyed the crew dancing in the main dining room. I have 3 more Carnival cruises booked.
  12. Though it is called "City Train" it looks like a trolley car and moves with the traffic. In Alesund it stopped at the top for about 20 minutes, long enough to take pictures and climbing even farther up for more views. And it stayed with us all the time. Now in Haugesund the only stop was the middle of the city where we got off and walked around. We waited around 45 minutes for another to pick us up back to the ship.
  13. We will be in Cozumel on Sunday, October 29th. The only beach club that I see opens on Sunday is Paradise Beach. I see there are three docks. Which one is the one MSC uses?
  14. We did the blue trolley City Bus in Alesund. It did stop on the mountain like the hoho buses. It was slightly shorter than the hoho buses but around $10pp cheaper. Lovely city. We didn't want to do a long 7-8 hour tour but if you do the troll road tour had good reviews. Book direct or if you are on the Pride with Sandra. We also did the blue trolley in Haugesund. Very boring town. Do an excursion out of town instead.
  15. Please excuse me if this was asked already but is there a list of cabins that the dry slides pass by the outsides of the balconies? I would hate to have one of those cabins.
  16. How much is Crazy Lobster? Do you reserve in advance on line?
  17. After arriving in Barcelona, we took the Aerobus from the airport to our hotel, HCC Montblanc, 1 block from Plaza Catalunya. Lovely modern hotel and very reasonable price. We had been in Barcelona in 2018 and did all the major sights so this time we booked a day tour with In-Out Barcelona tours to Girona and the Costa Brava. It was lovely. Our van held 8 and picked us up and dropped us back off at our hotel. Website: https://www.inoutbarcelonatours.com/ Our first stop was Gibraltar. We did a private tour with John Lopez Rock Tours with six others. He took us to all the sights on the rock. He was a wonderful guide. Here is his site: https://www.gibraltar-rock-tours.com/ Next stop Lisbon. We did the Lisbon, Sintra and Estoril tour with Spain Day Tours. It was nice but very long. It included the Petty Palace and really too much palace and not enough touring. Website: Spain Day Tours.com Onto Porto. I really struggled with this port but eventually booked with Tours4cruisers. Really reasonable and not very long but saw all the sights. We also booked with Tours4cruisers in Vigo and La Caruna. Couldn't beat the prices. Website:Tours4Cruisers.com In Bilbao we took the excursion offered by Sandra's Cruise tours. It was a long day and nearly missed the ship. Website: https://www.sandrascruisetours.com/ship/carnival-pride-47.html We drove along the coast and went into the Guggenheim. We wound up not getting off the ship at La Rochelle. We were suppose to go to Le Havre next but because of a port workers strike it was cancelled. We wound up going to Amsterdam instead. I wasn't able to have enough time to research any excursions so we wound up doing the City Sightseeing hop on hop off bus. If you don't have tickets you cannot get on near the port but have to walk or take a tram to Central Station to buy tickets. We found out that between 2pm and 6pm tickets were 15 Euros each so we walked around the city till then. Someone else on our cruise said you can buy unlimited tram tickets for 9 Euros each. Probably a better deal. Our final excursion in Brugge was again with Sandra's Cruise Tours, website above. The city is very beautiful but again a very long day and too much time on our own. Debarkation was in Dover but we were doing a back to back with Norway so stayed on the ship to do laundry and rest up from this port intensive cruise. I hope this will help some about what to do in these ports.
  18. Been a few days home so just wanted to put this out as info for anyone doing a Norway cruise. Bergen - Did the hop on hop off bus with City Sightseeing. Booked on line with a 10% off code you can look up. Took funicular to top. Gorgeous views. Should get ticket for 2 ways. We made the mistake of one way and walking down the 3 km. Very steep. Must be in great shape. 45 minutes turned into 1 1/2 hours. Also last time hoho bus back to cruise port is around 4pm. Alesund - Didn't want a long 7-8 hour tour so did the City Train. Took you to the same places as the hoho buses but around $10pp cheaper. https://www.bytoget.no/byer/aalesund Molde - Took the Carnival excursion to the Atlantic Coast Road because I had OBC to pay for it. It was just okay, nothing special except the bridge. If you want to book it yourself this is the website: https://www.norwayexcursions.com/en/tour/molde-the-adventurous-atlantic-ocean-road/ Olden - Took the troll car tour to the glacier. It was incredible. The views were stunning. This is the website: https://www.oldencruise.com/ Skjolden - Did a rib boat excursion. Fantastic. They suit you up and supply masks, hats and gloves. On the pier but a long walk to meetup. Website: https://www.adventuretours.no/ Haugesund - Again took the City Train. Pretty boring town. Should have done an excursion outside of town.
  19. If you are not in the greatest shape I would buy the round trip tickets. I made a mistake thinking I could walk down the 3 km. The sign said 45 minutes but took me 1.5 hrs. Because it was so steep and my legs ached for 2cdays afterward.
  20. Still unable to book Queen Mary for April, 2024. Website only allows to book up to December 30, 2023. Anyone know when 2024 will open?
  21. In Bergen we took the hoho bus and then got off at the funicular. We made the mistake of only purchasing one way tickets. Thought it would be easy to walk down. It was 3 kms. Said 45 minutes. Took 1.5 hours for us. Very steep. Caught the hoho bus back to the ship around 4pm. Driver said it was the last bus back.
  22. We were just on the Pride where we turned gold from red was told we get a free water so we did. Then in the theater on the last night ordered two drinks. Said I was eligible but hubby wasn't be ause he redeemed the water. He went to guest services and they gave him a voucher and was able to get the cocktail .
  23. Thanks for doing this review. I could t keep up with all the non cruise discussions on the transatlantic report. We will be on a Journey cruise in February.
