Yes...knowing which ship the OP will be on would help to answer this...but agree RCI is strict with the under age 3 policy.

We just returned from sailing out of Amsterdam (RCI Jewel) and we had to test 2 days prior to our cruise per RCI policy.

Depending on the terminal you'll be at there is also some seating on that outside pickup curb area. But I must warn you...LAX is a mess right now (and probably will be for some time with all the construction going on) and traffic in that area is horrible. We were just there this past Sunday night !!!!

OP...You might also find it convenient in your case to just book the cruiseline transportation.

We easily had our boarding passes which we printed out on the ship. We flew on DL ONE and had no issues anywhere. Going through security had nothing to do with DL but we were of course able to use SkyPriority where that was an option.

That's not your only option. Book directly with Acadia National Park....Just an amazing tour.

OP....Opt for booking directly with Acadia National Park on their website. We've done this tour and it was not only GREAT it was cheap compared to booking with the cruiseline and on a huge bus....not the best way to do this tour. Rethink your option !!

Our RCI offered the shuttle for no fee....but that was a couple of years ago...not sure that has changed...will see if it has Oct 2023 our next cruise on this itinerary.

Not necessarily is that true about the older ships. Just off Jewel and the fridge was super cold.

Casual on Serenade !!! Don't over pack not necessary on any RCI ship or itinerary !!! We just did our 5th cruise this year so far on our favorite cruiseline. We'll be doing Alaska again also on Serenade Sept 18th.

No, none of that arrival time was spent on covid checks/vaccine they didn't even ask... It was just standing in line to get through customs. Hopefully things will be better by the time you travel through Schiphol.

Agree...Don't put too much weight on the recent RCI sailings on Quantum. It's a great option for your large group.

Yes, as I said in my post above...once docked at 9:00pm you could disembark completely or come and go. Normal disembark started at 6:45am. This was up to you what you wanted to do. We saw people leaving with their luggage the last time I looked (as we could see the dock) was around 11:00pm.

It appeared that regardless of having carry on only would have made any difference as everyone had to stand in that same line to go through customs. So the only advantage you would have is not having to get your checked bag...which wasn't what took so much time since our luggage had plenty of time to get there during the approx 3 hours it took us to get to it. So, do what would be easier on you to handle and navigate...but do check with your airlines and be aware that luggage bins may be at a premium considering how full flights are. Best of luck.

Our recent flights (July 22-Aug 7th) LAX-AMS via SEA all completely booked...no empty seats available on any of our flights...and luggage bins at full capacity !!
