Recently we paid $10.00 for the two of us from just outside the port to the Malecon. Same price for the return.

We just (Feb 22nd) stayed one night pre-cruise at the Hampton Inn Suites Blue Lagoon. So happy with this hotel and location. Right across the street from several restaurants and a Publix market etc. We'll be staying again with extended family in May.

We saved quite a bit on our Waterpark Cabana for May on Icon.

You will be given a form once on board usually a day or two before arrival into Coco Cay. It will have you list the people that will be using the cabana, also it will have your cabana number. Once you check in at the Coco Cay cabana area they will (have your list) put wrist bands on each of you that must be worn. You can cancel 48 hours prior to Coco Cay arrival. The refund price will be an OBC.

Just saved again on our WaterPark Cabana onboard ICON May 18th. First pricing including taxes booked 7/31/23....$1648.90 Second pricing including taxes booked 3/18/24....$1318.90 Third pricing including taxes booked 3/22/24...$1054.88 I'll keep watching to cancel and rebook.

Hyatt Place Fort Lauderdale, perhaps 30-40 min depending on day/time. You might also consider checking prices at Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon near POM. We just stayed at both hotels this month.

We just stayed at the Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon and so glad we made the change from the Brickell for one pre-cruise night. Comp shuttle from MIA to their hotel and $14.00 pp shuttle to the port.

For those of you that have recently been on ICON and did the self assist walk off with the ship arriving at 6:00am into POM what time were you actually able to walk off? Thanks so much for your help.

Try Hyatt Place. Great pre-cruise location next door to the Harbor Shopping complex with a Publix market, shops and restaurants. Check pricing with ValueTrips or directly as a member. We've stayed there many times and as recently as March 3rd.

Just at Hyatt Place March 3rd. I saw the sign up list in the lobby and it's $9.00 pp paid to the driver. You must sign up for the shuttle there. Runs at 10, 11, noon and 1.

We were just in Puerto Plata (Celebrity) and there only seemed to be one dock. They have a large outdoor mall (obviously built for cruise docking) and a pool you could use. However we just decided to walk through it (actually no other choice) and wanted to walk into town. We were aggressively approached by local walking guides that wanted to walk you into town saying you would be safe. We opted to easily do it ourselves. Sorry to say that there was nothing to do or see other than a church and a street called Umbrella St. This was absolutely one of the worst ports we have visited. What a waste of time.

Try South Florida Shuttles.

Use a shuttle and walk off self assist and you'll have no problems making this flight time.

"False"? I didn't say there was anything wrong with MTD or that we've ever had "trouble". We just now prefer the WJ. We're also just a couple.

Why would I tell the SL concierge about "one" phone call. We're pretty low key cruisers and don't feel the need to make a point about much of anything. My point was they always call regardless of the ship we're on and we've been on several as recently as this month on Explorer.

Just recently (March 3rd) off Explorer and WJ had it machine dispensed during dining times. They also had cartons but most of the time it was "pantry fresh" and tasted horrible. Only had cartons out at breakfast. We would ask each night for the regular carton of "real milk" sometimes they were able to get white whole milk and sometimes chocolate. It was a hit or miss.

I would opt to Uber/Lyft to "Lester's Diner". It's a must for us. Just ate there in between cruises on March 3rd....so yummy !!!

I have no idea why they call but they do. I have never made a reservation. Perhaps it's because we only stay in the OS that their concerned enough to call. We always assure them it's just our preference. Long time cruisers and we're done with the MDR/MTD. I wish there was an option to opt out.
