  1. Even without the separate dining room, CO has a special line and entrance to enter the MDR and you are priority seated over others in line for non-CO MDR seating and you get the extra entree. We always book anytime dining so CO is the answer to not having to wait to be seated. Early dining is too early and late seating is way to late, our preferred dining time is between 6:30 and 7:00pm. If done right when booking, you can get the higher category cabin you want by booking a lower category and the upgrade pays for the CO. If your cruise has any tender ports the priority tendering is nice along with priority boarding. For us CO is worth the cost on any HAL ship or cruise.
  2. Which is really good when you have tender ports and are doing private excursions.
  3. They already have too many smoking cigarettes on the balconies, has been an issue on every Celebrity cruise since Covid and when complained to Guest Services nothing seems to stop.
  4. We booked a B2B on the Edge next January and we got a $100 discount, not much but better than nothing.
  5. No, we have 4 in our group and have a private transport from the Amsterdam hotel to the cruise terminal in Rotterdam.
  6. Following, we will be on the Apex in September for the Amsterdam to Athens cruise. We will spend 3 days in Amsterdam before we depart from Rotterdam on September 14th.
  7. We are doing the day tour so we can do lunch in Sonoma.
  8. We are a group of 6 in 3 cabins so this extra shore excursion credit is a big deal. My TA is out this week but I am sure she will find out next week.
  9. If Celebrity is truly doing just a test and they are going to consider all feedback, we all need to flood them with our objections to the possibility of changing the smoking/vaping policy. Send emails to: ExecutiveOffice@celebrity.com
  10. We are booked on the Marina in March 2025 for 18 nights in an A3 Concierge cabin. When we booked we chose the O Life Bev promo with no air as we will book our own air. With the new SM we could add the $1000 shore excursion credit and the price of our cabin is the same as when we booked back in February. From reading the press release and some comments here it looks like we will automatically get the new SM promo, is this true? I will have my TA look into this just to be sure.
  11. I got this from letter return email from Celebrity this morning in response to my email yesterday. Dear Mr. Doane: Thank you so much for this valuable feedback. We really appreciate you taking the time to contact the Executive Offices at Celebrity Cruises. This test is currently taking place in the casinos on the Celebrity Equinox and Celebrity Eclipse through August 20th. It is a test at this point, and all feedback is being taking into consideration, so again, thank you. As a brand we will continue to keep our guests as the main focus, and you taking the time to reach out is truly beneficial and appreciated. Again, thank you so much for the feedback provided regarding our recent change. Sincerely, Executive Office Celebrity Cruises ExecutiveOffice@celebrity.com
  12. Here is a key quote from that article that confirms my fears: What we do know so far is that vape aerosol contains a number of harmful substances, including: nicotine ultrafine particles various other toxins, including several cancer-causing agents There’s evidence that nonsmokers exposed to secondhand vape aerosol absorb similar levels of nicotine as people exposed to secondhand cigarette smoke. Along with nicotine, nonvapers are also exposed to ultrafine particles from secondhand vape aerosol, which may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. Secondhand vape aerosol also contains several known carcinogens that may increase the risk of certain cancers.
  13. I do not Vape or smoke, but isn't the reason for vaping is to replace the nicotine from smoking? Wouldn't that residual nicotine be in the vapors given off by system and anyone in proximity would then be inhaling nicotine? This would then be a huge health hazard. Yesterday I emailed to Celebrity Corporate my displeasure with this new policy. I cited their failure to enforce most other rules on cruises, including cigarette smoking, and that I believe vaping will end up in other areas of the ship like on balconies. Last month on the Equinox someone close to our cabin smoked on their balcony all day long and their secondhand smoke was intruding to my balcony. I complained many times to guest services, but the smoker never quit. All I got from GS was we will look into it.
  14. Yes, we booked a Sonoma County wine tasing tour on our upcoming Koingsdam cruise and it cost $179pp, we used our $100 HIA credit and paid the $79 overage by CC. If you are booking excursions under $100 add them to you shopping cart along with other excursions and when you check out the $100 credits will be deducted from the total cost of all excursions.
  15. We did a 14 day cruise from Venice last August on the Oosterdam and we enjoyed it very much. We were is a Signature Suite and the furnishings and cabin were in great shape. We thought the food in both Lido and MDR were very good. The only place I noticed signs of wear and tear for an older ship was walking down the halls of the cabins, many dents and scratches on walls and doors. I much prefer HAL over Princess and would book that cruise again.
  16. Yes you can and if you have gratuities included with AI, you can use the OBC if you want to pay extra to a particular crew member.
  17. We wanted to cruise around South America in 2025. We looked at a Celebrity Equinox 14-day cruise from Santiago to Buenos Ares in a Sky Suite. We compared it to an 18 night Oceania Marina cruise in their highest-level concierge Verandah from Santiago to Buenos Ares. The Oceania cruise was $200pp less than the Celebrity Sky Suite but it had 4 more days and 3 more ports, so we booked the Oceania cruise. HAL did not have an itinerary we liked. An acquaintance from CC who is on the Apex with us in September after talking with me canceled his Equinox South America cruise to join on the Oceania cruise.
  18. We love Celebrity but this year they are doing a lot of things that are driving many of the loyal customers to look at other cruise lines. All started by raising cabin prices 30-40%, then charging for all room service in less than a suite, then raising drink prices 20%, then drink packages 30%, then raising specialty restaurants 20%, then limiting MDR and evening buffets offerings and this week a sizable increase in daily gratuity charges. Many of my Celebrity friends are booking with Viking Ocean and Oceania to find alternatives to Celebrity.
  19. I had the escargot on the Celebrity Equinox last month and I have to say they must have been using baby snails as mine were 95% garlic butter and 5% snail. Like lobster on a cruise ship, if you want good ones get them at a good land restaurant. Last year in Italy we did a Celebrity cruise followed by a HAL cruise and hands down the MDR food on HAL was way better than the Celebrity MDR. If you look at my signature below, we have a mix of Celebrity, HAL and Oceania for our upcoming cruises over the next two years. We no longer have a loyalty for any one cruise line we sail now for itinerary comparing them to Celebrity, HAL and Oceania.
  20. HAL is probably still moving people around on this sold out cruise, causing your delay.
  21. With 4 dining rooms you can check to see which ones are not as busy and you shouldn't have more that a few minute wait between 6 & 7. The menus do change every day and you can see them for each dining room in the Celebrity app.
  22. We stayed in the Hilton Ft Lauderdale Beach resort for 3 nights before our Equinox cruise last month and they charged a $45 per day resort fee for services we never used but, had no choice but to pay so even other forms of vacations will have hidden add on fees.
  23. Thanks, Dave, that is what I have read from many on CC. We didn't consider CO for our 14 day Oosterdam cruise last year, as at that time HAL wanted $50pp per day or $1400 more for our cruise, didn't see any advantage for it at that price. Now that it costs $25pp per day I can see the advantage of adding it, which we did for both of our upcoming HAL cruises.
