  1. We had it in September on the Island Princess. All of us thought it was awful! Thin and watery. We bought better lotion at a store in Iceland.
  2. We looked at your itinerary, but ultimately chose the repositioning cruise instead. Fort Lauderdale to Quebec June 19th to July 3rd, 2024. Seven interesting ports as well as Fort Lauderdale and Quebec City. When we get off of the ship July 3rd in Quebec City, we will take the Princess excursion to Montreal, and overnight there. This allowed us the best possible flights home. I will fly from Montreal to Denver, then connect non-stop to Maui. 👍
  3. I contacted Charles Schwab via chat at their website and asked them to generate a letter showing that I own 100 shares of Carnival stock. (Apparently, they get this request often.) 24 hours later, I received the letter via email. This way I am not giving up any additional information and there was no charge. Yesterday, I emailed hello@stockperks.com, including my name, booking number, etc. and attached the email letter from Schwab. I received an automatic reply stating Stockperks would process my request. I will report back with whatever happens next. For me, this was much easier than trying to use the app on my phone.
  4. I wonder if the Sun (and future ships) will have an outlet on the bed wall. There aren't any table lamps so they wouldn't be required. It seems incredibly short-sighted of Princess not to include a bedside outlet for all of the CPAP users.
  5. Can anyone tell me if the saunas and steam rooms on the Emerald are additional cost items? When we sailed around South America on the Crown Princess in 2017, they were free. Given the direction Princess is moving, I would not be surprised to learn that there is an upcharge.
  6. I noticed that on the Sun Princess there are no table lamps except in full suites. Wall lamps instead. That will be a blessing for C-pap users and people who want to place tablets/phones/etc. on the nightstands. The question that remains is: Do they have an available electrical outlet near the headboards? With no table lamps, there might not be an outlet of any voltage. It seems incredibly shortsighted of Princess to force people to run extension cords around the cabins, causing tripping hazards.
  7. No doubt market research has shown them that most of us prefer NOT to have a tub. Give me a walk-in shower any day. We upgrade to mini suites to avoid the tiny corner showers and then tolerate the tub. Looking forward to the new ships.
  8. If you arrive on Friday, or Saturday night, why not try some of the local venues for drinks and music. That what we have planned. A taxi or Uber each way. 9. We will be sailing on the Majestic Princess which has a noodle bar instead of pizza on the Lido Deck.
  10. For 6 of us to go to Alfredo's would cost $90. Instead, we will have pizza at one of the Alaskan ports we visit for probably less money. Onboard, we will utilize the main dining room, which undoubtedly costs Princess far more money than providing free pizza. How long until the main dining rooms require an upcharge? 😮
  11. I spoke with our travel companions in separate cabins. We now plan to share a 4-device package. It will be my treat. Fortunately, the price increase for that package was minimal, and with Platinum status, not terribly expensive. 🙂 Honestly, the self-serve laundromats is what keeps me loyal to Princess. If they ever take those out, I will revisit some of the other lines.
  12. If we buy the 4-device plan, can it be shared by occupants of two adjacent cabins?
  13. How did you get T-mobile OBC? They are my provider for 4 line (myself and 3 grandsons). I would like to receive this too, if possible!
  14. We were on the Island Princess in September 2023 for two weeks. By the middle of the second week the theater, and buffet sounded like tuberculosis wards. I avoided them as much as possible for the rest of the trip. When we got home, 3 out of four of us had Covid. The one who didn't catch it had a booster shot weeks before we cruised. I intend to get boosted before my next cruise.
  15. I fully intended to buy a one-device package at the 50% rate for Platinum. Now I don't know. In the grand scheme of things, it's not much money but it pisses me off. 😬
  16. Has anyone received confirmation from Princess that this information is true? 🤔 I may do without internet on my Alaska cruise and just pop into the dockside internet cafes. They will get LESS money from me instead of more. 😉 Greedy "buzzards!"
  17. No doubt they will celebrate that milestone by attempting to sell you cruise #61. 🤣
  18. From what I've been reading on CC lately, it sounds like many people feel the same way I do and have stopped patronizing Alfredo's.
  19. It seems really short-sighted of Princess to charge for pizza, which we all know is inexpensive to prepare. Many cruisers will instead, go to the dining room for a sit-down, multicourse meal, which has to cost Princess much more. I will be cruising on the Majestic next, and I don't intend to pay for pizza (although my grandsons may change my mind, LOL)!
  20. Can you sign up onboard to play or are the tournaments pre-arranged?
  21. Here in Maui, I never get cold enough to wear pants. About 9 years ago I bought a pair for a job interview. When I got there, the interviewer was wearing shorts. 😏 That was the last time I've worn pants here. Occasionally a windbreaker when outdoors, but in the house, we close windows if it gets cool. The refrigerator adds enough heat to keep us comfortable. In September we cruised to Iceland on the Island Princess, and I had to buy pants. I'm saving them for my upcoming Alaska cruise. I recently skipped Christmas with friends and family in California because I hate being cold. I used to be a skier but now I have no interest in snow except when seen from afar. Most people will not need coats or pants when visiting Hawaii unless they will spend their time upcountry.
  22. It's surprising that the new ships don't include a 110 outlet by the bed for all of the CPAP users. Why would Princess prefer to have extension cords running around the cabins, posing a trip hazard. I just ordered a splitter like the one pictured from Walmart.com for $5.75 including shipping and tax.
  23. I just ordered the splitter pictured above only I used Walmart.com. It only cost $5.75 including shipping and tax, delivered to Hawaii. Way cheaper than Amazon.
  24. We got flight change notifications this morning about our flights in September 2024. After a call to Princess, we discovered that the only change was a flight number. So far, we have had excellent service using EZ Air to South America, and Europe. Our flights in September will be to Seattle from Maui and California. Ironic that the Alaskan Airlines plane that blew open yesterday near Portland is often used on the flight we will be taking. 😮
