  1. I have taken my security photo 5 times. Each time I am sideways in the final picture. On my last cruise I was sideways for the entire cruise. I have tried turning the camera from vertical to horizontal. It makes no difference. The picture always comes out sideways. Any suggestions?
  2. I did it a couple of weeks ago. I emailed hello@stockperks.com my name, booking #, etc. along with an attachment from my brokerage showing that I own 100 shares of CCL. They replied, stating that Princess "strongly recommends" using the app. I replied forcefully that I wasn't going to do that. They relented, and granted my $250 in OBC. They also said that a website is in the works. There are at least 3 other threads on this topic which have lots of advice.
  3. One token in place of perhaps 8 quarters. Much easier! Use your quarters for tips. 🤣
  4. I wish we were able to sail on to Montreal but appreciate the extra night on the ship at Quebec. (HAL cruises to Montreal. Apparently, Princess ships are too tall to clear a bridge along the way.) We will take the Princess excursion bus from Quebec City that stops in Old Montreal and then delivers us to the Airport. We will spend the night and fly out early the next morning.
  5. We book balconies or Mini suites except when there aren't any available and have never sailed in an inside cabin. I've never smelled cigarette smoke from neighboring cabins on Carnival RCCL, NCL, or Princess. Occasionally, a brief whiff of weed.
  6. Perhaps you could affix a photo of them on the wall just inside the cabin door? 🐕🐱🐎
  7. I think it's great that you choose to spend your time there. Awesome that we all have choices.
  8. I likened it to a theater containing a replica of Abraham Lincoln delivering the Gettysburg Address. Try to keep the facts straight.
  9. In July, I will be flying (EZ Air) from Montreal to Maui on United Airlines. The first flight (co-branded) is operated by Air Canada to Denver, and the second flight is operated by United to Maui. I wonder if I can use United points to upgrade both flights, or even just the second flight? Anyone know? TIA!
  10. This thread reminded me to pack some lotion. I will be at the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas a few days before the cruise, so I will bring some of theirs as it's very high quality. Probably bring some of their shampoo and bar soap too. Maybe the sheets and towels as well. 😉
  11. A few minutes after you put on that thin, astringent "lotion" it feels like you haven't used any. We each bought lotion at a port stop.
  12. I try to use the web version and get the following message each time: Your booking is not currently available in the Medallion Class app. Please try again later. Your booking may require payment or additional guest details. Use this web site or contact your Travel Agent to review payment and guest details.
  13. About 25% of Oahu visitors visit the USS Arizona Memorial each year. (I've been 5 times.) Are the other 75% "insensitive and disrespectful" since they don't go there? We took my nephew over for the day, from Maui, 15 years ago. We were unable to secure advance reservations and ended up spending the entire day there. That is the only thing he has ever seen on Oahu. Was that time well-spent? Maybe...
  14. This could give someone a pithy attitude.😉
  15. The buffets I've visited in Las Vegas with individually dished portions actually move faster than traditional buffets.
  16. Visiting the Arizona Memorial reminds me of visiting the Abraham Lincoln exhibit at Disneyland in the 1960s. Upon arrival, our parents made us go listen to the primitive Lincoln robot deliver the Gettysburg Address, and we couldn't wait for it to be over to get to the E-ticket rides. 😁 No disrespect intended but the Arizona is very time-consuming (and boring) if you have other things to do and only one or two days in Oahu.
  17. Perhaps try the travel review company with the initials T.A. for some hints.
  18. LOL, instead of being pistol-whipped, you are pencil-whipped. 🤣
  19. I received that email this morning. Not sure if I will participate yet.
  20. I wonder what cabin "Gerrilyn" had originally booked? If it was a reserve mini suite, I would be unhappy as well, but if she was in a balcony, OV, or inside, she apparently lucked out. Is this an indicator that people aren't enamored with the cabana concept? I wouldn't want one unless it was a free upgrade.
  21. I think it depends upon how long the mattress has been in service. Our recent cruise on the Island featured worn out mattresses. I padded the dip with bath towels, but I was never comfortable.
  22. Princess removed the barrel chairs fleetwide, so you won't have to contend with that. The desk chair can be moved to the empty space under the TV. and you will have room for your twin air mattress. With that said, the sofa bed folds out sideways and forms a twin. The one we had on the Regal was actually more comfortable than the main bed. I would bring the air mattress but try out the sofa bed first. If it isn't comfortable, use the air mattress. Happy cruising!
  23. We will have to wait and see what actual users think of the cabana mini suite. As I pointed out in another thread, if the cabana sofa makes into a sofa bed, or if one occupant is an early riser, and the other, a late sleeper, it might be useful. Otherwise, why choose a smaller cabin with a smaller bathroom in order to have a tiny sunroom when there are nicer spaces all over the ship??
  24. I've read that only full suites will have bathtubs on the Sun Princess.
