  1. Saguenay has a HoHo bus that picks up at the port and costs $22 U.S. dollars.
  2. The balconies on Emerald deck cabins are huge (on both sides of the ship) in the aft section.
  3. We were on the Emerald deck in balcony cabins near the laundromat. About 10 cabins further aft is a door which leads to an outdoor deck that runs the full width of the back of the ship and offers great views. We strolled out there for pictures and viewing several times each day.
  4. In September, we sailed around the British Isles and Iceland on the "ruined" Island Princess. We had a great time, and while the ship could be described as "tired", it's far from ruined. Chances are, they will choose a ship depending on the number of people who sign up.
  5. I contacted my brokerage and asked for a letter stating that I own 100 shares of CCL. It was emailed to me in less than 24 hours (at no cost). I forwarded the email to hello@stockperks.com along with my cruise info. At first they balked, but eventually agreed to process it. It was accepted, and I received my $250 in OBC in about a week. A web version is in the works.
  6. On our recent Island Princess cruise, in the space between the two twins (locked together) was an uncomfortable metal bar. 😵‍💫
  7. From what I've read, Charleston will still be a stop for cruise ships, but none will be allowed to start or end there. Princess is still showing Charleston for our stop on June 21, 2024, and Norfolk on June 23, 2024, so they must have made arrangements or plan to skip those ports and tell us on board. 😬
  8. If the cabana room has a sofa bed, it might enhance the useability of the cabin. Otherwise, I can't see why anyone would want it. You give up space in the main room to have a small add-on room that really doesn't seem to have any useful purpose.
  9. Four of us will be on the June 19th cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Quebec. Looks like an exciting itinerary. I noticed that Princess originally included Yorktown, then switched to Norfolk. I Googled about the difference and found the following article: Princess Cruises cancels on Yorktown; now headed towards Norfolk | WAVY.com
  10. I don't believe this applies if you book with EZ air. Perhaps if you pay for the cruise and air with an AA credit card?
  11. Since the pools are heated with excess heat generated by the engines, it doesn't cost much, or possibly anything, to heat them using heat exchangers. Keeping them cold limits overcrowding.
  12. There are two lamps near the bed(s). Do they both plug into this one outlet? TIA!
  13. The Caymus Winemaker's dinner is $140 pp. Caymus makes a notable Cabernet Sauvignon of which you get one glass ($73.00 per bottle at Costco). The other included wines are not highly rated. At $40, the dinner was a good value and very popular, so Princess worked it's magic and raised the price to $140. 🙄
  14. Did they stop offering any ice cream at dinner or just some flavors?
  15. When I carry on 6 bottles of wine, fully prepared to pay the corkage fee, and Princess doesn't charge me, is it smuggling? Would that be "icky"? (I have done this many times.) In Barcelona, there are liquor stores right at the gangplanks, after Security. People buy and bring cases of beer, wine, and liquor on board while ship security watch quietly. Does that involve "nastiness"? Just curious... 🤔
  16. Buying two Premium packages just so your husband can "have a few" seems illogical. Wouldn't it be better for him to "pay as you go" for alcohol?
  17. One thing that people on this thread have not addressed is on-board credit. On my last 14-day cruise I had $850 in OBC. It paid for Internet, crew appreciation, drinks, some shopping, and more. At the end, I walked away leaving $100 on the table. A package is not necessary with lots of OBC. On my next cruise I have $350 in OBC. As a light drinker I see no reason to buy upgrades.
  18. Island has an extensive library. The largest I've seen on a cruise ship. I found many new, popular titles on board, as well as classics. Foot traffic passes through the library, so it is not always a quiet place to read.
  19. With cabins above and below you, it shouldn't be a noisy location. We will be in R-339. Love to trade with you! 😁
  20. Sorry to hear that about the Regal. We sailed around the Baltic on her when she was pretty new. Beautiful ship then! Our next two cruises are aboard Emerald and Majestic. Can't wait! ⚓
  21. We sailed to Iceland aboard the Island in September. She's a bit tired, but adequate. Toilet issues for many and worn-out mattresses. Good food though! I would sail on this ship again if it were going to ports I want to visit, but I wouldn't choose this ship otherwise.
  22. If you talk to your cabin steward and ask him to stay out of your cabin, I believe he/she will oblige, unless there is a ship policy against doing so.
  23. The number I have from a recent cruise: Princess En-route Delayed Travel: (800) 545-0008. I've never needed to use it but I believe it is an accurate number. Maybe call it and see who answers? 🤔
  24. Today I received my $250 in OBC. I'm happy! I hope they have the desktop option available for my cruise in September.
