  1. This is what I was going to say. I’d go in, pick my arrival time and you can always go back and edit your passport info. But as far as it having anything to do with a guarantee cabin, I don’t think it does. I have heard of others not getting their assignments until they arrive.
  2. Enjoying your review! Guy’s was like that when we were on the Mardi Gras in January, but the line always seemed to move faster than we thought it would.
  3. I’ll add in, my kids loved it, but the tour the day of embarkation really sold it to them. They’re 4. They saw how cool, colorful, and fun it looked and they couldn’t wait to go back. They have pamphlets at the check in desk with a list of activities, but the app is a good source of that info too. It will tell you what activities, themes etc. for the younger kids it tells if it’s open play or crafts, games etc. I was able to read it to my kids and tell them what was going on. I also recommend the Dr. Suess breakfast if you can get a reservation it’s totally worth it!
  4. So when we did our online check in, it asked us to register our kids for kids club. It also asked us who had permission to check them in and out. If they’re older it will ask if you allow them to check themselves out. When we got on the ship, they were offering tours of the facility and meet and greet with the staff. We went to that too, but it wasn’t required. If you hadn’t registered online you could do it then. But we had registered online so they just confirmed that they had them on the roster. My kids loved camp ocean!
  5. I like the sauce station by shaq’s but I didn’t see mustard.
  6. Oh perfect, we walked all over on our cruise just last month so I’m sure they’d be fine! Thank you!!
  7. Do you think walking from the Galvez is too far for a 5 year old to walk?
  8. Thanks!! I have seen the Galvez too and that’s more my style, so for sure I’ll check that out!
  9. I love the location of the hotel. But is there something else that is just as convenient to the pleasure pier. I had originally thought we could stay there as it certainly looks like walking distance, therefore really convenient. But I just can’t get over the reviews. I thought originally the reviews were previous to the renovations they had, but even some of the reviews from a few months ago talk of roaches in the rooms and bathrooms, showers and counters with hair in them, etc. I just can’t get past the reviews and I just don’t know if I can bring myself to book this hotel, despite the convenient location. One thing we know for sure, is that our kids want to go to the pleasure pier, and I think it sounds fun too. So I’d like to stay close to there. We’re considering driving to Galveston so we also could drive to the pier, I don’t mind paying to park. Can anyone give current info on the hotel? Have you stayed there? Is there something better I should look into?
  10. Has anyone heard which terminal the Carnival Jubilee will be docked at? We haven’t been on a cruise from Galveston since 2010, so I’m trying to get an idea of parking and what will be available near our ship. We’re considering driving so I’m really trying to get a good idea of where I’ll be parking etc.
  11. I had absolutely zero problems using my cheers package for coffee on debarkation day.
  12. So we’re booked in an Ocean Suite, not in family harbor. I would have looked to book there, but no balconies = not happening. I heard the family harbor has kid friendly snacks and sandwiches. Is someone who is not booked in that area allowed to run down, grab a sandwich and leave or is that a big no no? I’d happily get a sandwich elsewhere but apparently pb&j is only available through room service for $6 and in the dining room for dinner. I’m guessing no? But it’s worth asking. My son could live off pb&j and at $6 each, there’s a lot of other things I’d love to spend that money on.
  13. You’re going to get a zillion responses. But our last cruise was this past January, and yes we wore shorts. I think as long as they’re “nice” and not gym shorts or sweats it’s fine. No one batted an eye when we wore shorts.
  14. I’m not sure about the boarding pass, but I will assure you in January they boarded Diamonds, Suites, Platinum and then Fttf. Not sure about the boarding zone, I don’t think ours listed one. But you will be called before the masses.
  15. I like how carnival handles anytime dining compared to how they did when it first started. It’s really nice. There’s an app, you just click on the restaurant and put in that you’re ready for a table and the app notifies you whenever your table is ready. You have 10 minutes to get there while they hold your table for you. On the Mardi Gras with anytime it also works on the “other” restaurants other than the main dining room. You can also request a private or shared table too.
  16. Geez this really isn’t good for the pvp’s! It was such an easy way for us to book.
  17. That’s an amazing zoom on that camera to be able to capture what ship it was!!
  18. Now see I prefer Miami to PC. Pc just doesn’t have a ton of great options of dinner places or shopping like Miami does. I guess you can always argue that Disney is close etc. but I like Miami, staying downtown, walking to restaurants, plenty to choose from, great places for drinks, and I love walking around Bayside too!
  19. There’s somewhere in your online Carnival account that you can mark someone as a cruise companion. But I’m not sure if that will add their booking. I’d probably call carnival and have their booking number linked just to be sure.
  20. I never even saw it available on the Mardi Gras. Where do you get it from?
  21. I’ll be following along! I can’t wait to read more. We just cruised on Mardi Gras and it was wonderful. I’m sure Celebration will be too! Safe travels!
