  1. What about somewhere with a kids menu? My kids will be on this vacation with us so we’ll probably stay on the more casual side.
  2. I actually am genuinely interested. I’ll check that out, thank you! I live in Illinois and all we have is Amtrak where I am, so this appears much better!
  3. We sailed Port Everglades on our Princess cruise and it was nice and easy! We really appreciated the closeness to the airport, it made debarkation day super easy and stress free. As far as San Juan goes, I’d love it. It’s a longer flight, but we’re flying regardless. It would be a nice change up.
  4. How hard do you think it would be to get an Uber from the station to the port?
  5. Right? I was telling my husband the prices and he said “it’s going to make people want to smuggle booze on” I said uh that’s been happening for a long time!
  6. Gosh we were on in January and we loved it too! I told my husband it’s my favorite class of ship. I know it’s not for everyone, but it made us not want to sail another class. I can’t wait to read more!
  7. I personally haven’t had much of a problem with ATD. We were just on the MG in January and we checked in for dinner right when the option to check in opened up. We were always able to get a table right away or I believe on elegant night it was maybe a 10 minute wait. But it was short enough that we hardly had time to walk from our cabin and get a before dinner drink. We prefer to eat early too, but I don’t like assigned seating, and especially on the MG where you don’t have the options of the other restaurants until later. My point is, I really think you’ll be fine. Just get the carnival app and check in when it opens and you should be good to go!
  8. Gotcha, that makes sense. I just remember we were following it until we weren’t and I couldn’t remember where we lost view of it.
  9. I think that’s the motive too. Those prices are just insane. And honestly, I’d get tired of the same alcohol all week. I’d much rather get cheers and have someone else make my drinks.
  10. I think you’d be ok with any time dining since you can still eat early with that, but not knowing your wife’s specific needs, it’s hard to say. But you’re welcome to call the special needs department and discuss it with them. I can’t imagine they wouldn’t accommodate that. https://www.carnivalcruiseline.de/en/vacation-carnival/general-information/special-needs
  11. Oh I love wiggly bacon and that’s still a tad too wiggly for me.
  12. I mean I’m all for licking the mixer when making brownies… I just don’t need a whole bowl of it!
  13. Honestly, you’re not alone. I just don’t love it. I want to… but it really just reminds me of undercooked brownie batter. I much prefer the soufflés!
  14. I guess what I’m asking is how far East does the train take you. I know we followed the tracks under construction out of Orlando. Does it stay on the mainland then?
  15. I was having a hard time seeing a good service map, and I know it’s not in service yet in Orlando. But, on our last cruise out of PC our driver talked to us all about the train and told us how wonderful it will be. That it’s going to connect from MCO to Miami? I remember the tracks running along the interstate on the way to the Port, so when it’s in service, will it take you all the way to Coco beach area? Like would it be reliable transportation between the airport and the port?
  16. We use our time to utilize the pools when they’re much less crowded. Also guy’s burgers line is much shorter too!
  17. I wouldn’t necessarily avoid it, but it wouldn’t be my first choice. Port days are great but they’re exhausting. So, I’d really like to have at least one sea day, especially towards the end of the cruise.
  18. I’d also love to know. We really enjoy Carnival but I’d never say never to another line. So I love reading comparisons!
  19. I’ll never turn down a good coffee! I work in healthcare and am known for having coffee with me all the time!
  20. It’s not. I started one for my sailing. Granted it’s a year off, but it’s on the jubilee so I thought there would be excitement since it’s a brand new ship. And I KNOW the sailing heavily booked…
  21. I miss the roll calls of days past as well. Ours for our last cruise just never even got going. Although we did have a good sized social media group. I feel like the pandemic influenced the demise as well!
  22. Thank you!! Those all sound like great options. And the ice cream and taffy sound like so much fun for the kids! Is that walkable? I think we’re going to drive there so if not I don’t mind driving there as long as they have parking.
  23. I think I would bring it. Usually there’s someone sitting close by that you can ask to keep an eye on your stuff if you’re only going to be gone a short while. I’d be less worried about my kindle than I would be a purse/money.
