  1. I’m caught up! I love seeing all the detailed pics. It’s so similar to the Mardi Gras but just a tad different. I’m really loving your review.
  2. How am I so late to seeing this? Woo!!! I’m exited and following along!
  3. another vote for they’re way better than the lido cake slices! We ordered one our first cruise and then when we had lido desserts we were very disappointed. We expected them to be as good. And especially for the price, I’d totally get one again!
  4. What she said. It would be much easier to assign cards to people at the beginning. It would be an absolute nightmare to go through at the end and try to figure out who owes what. You do get an invoice at the end that shows charges, but I don’t know if it shows which cruiser charged what. Maybe it does? But it would still be way more to pick through than I’d be willing to do..
  5. So I know it’s not Miami, but when we cruised in January on the Mardi Gras, they called weddings first and then when they started announcing diamonds, pretty much everyone in those first few groups got up and they did check our boarding passes to see if we were part of the priority group but it was kind of whoever got there first went. It wasn’t chaotic at all, but as long as your pass said priority they let you board. It happened so fast.
  6. We did this all the time on the Mardi Gras. There was a cooler of Gatorade right there next to the register at the coffee shop and we would get a coffee and a Gatorade at the same time frequently. We never had a problem.
  7. I totally think it’s worth it even if it’s just for the peace of mind of not having an unknown bar bill at the end. We did cheers for the first time on our last cruise and we really enjoyed having it! I’m a big coffee drinker and having the luxury of coffee drinks included whenever I wanted them was a huge plus.
  8. I think it’s because people either couldn’t or wouldn’t figure out how to use them. It made a great concept a nightmare because they weren’t being used correctly.
  9. What ship and what cabin? I think it greatly depends on what is above you.
  10. I don’t blame you. I guess if you were planning on purchasing a spa pass already, it would be worth it. But otherwise I wouldn’t be able to justify it either
  11. Oh I’d love to follow along! I can’t wait. Will you be starting a new thread for it?
  12. Are you sailing today? Have a great cruise!
  13. I’m a long time reader of your reviews! I’m so glad you’re back and doing another. Im headed to read it now.
  14. Such a strange law! Learned something new. We went on our first cruise out of Galveston years ago, but since it was our first cruise I don’t think I even noticed.
  15. I think that’s the biggest thing we noticed that we really didn’t love. No pizza at 4am? I’m not up anyways so I don’t care. But we really noticed the change in the stewards. And it’s not their fault.. they can’t help that Carnival cut back their help and gave them more rooms. That’s the one thing that I’d like to see change back to how it was.
  16. I would too! We absolutely LOVED Mardi Gras. Our last ship we were on before her was the Breeze. The Breeze felt every bit as crowded as the size she was. The buffet was stupid busy, coffee lines, etc. and we talked about how much different the Mardi Gras felt. Bigger, yes. But Mardi Gras really did an excellent job of dispersing the crowds.
  17. The kids never took their cards to camp ocean. You, or whoever picks them up does. So when you check in online for your cruise it’s going to ask you to register the child for camp. And when you do that it’s going to ask you who’s allowed to pick them up. So that’s what you’ll need your card for. To verify you are the allowed person. My kids never had their cards with them unless they were leaving the ship. Then you do need it because every single person needs to ding on and off. As far as camp ocean goes, they make little name tags for the kids that they leave there and put on any time they’re checked in.
  18. Sorry I’m not following. There’s a different bar menu on the first day? And why? I know cheers isn’t available on the first day due to Texas laws. But I hadn’t heard of this.
  19. Honestly, the only time I saw that offer was then the restart was happening. I had a suite booked on the Mardi Gras back in January and I have a suite booked on Jubilee and I’ve never seen any of these deals so I doubt it has anything to do with cabin class. I wish there was more of a method to the madness, but I wouldn’t hold out for snagging that elusive RU2 deal.
  20. Honestly, I do believe our kid’s key did open our door. I very rarely had my kids cards with us unless we were leaving the ship, but I wouldn’t be able to even guess if that’s something they could turn off.
  21. Oh great information, thank you! If I have to do street parking and that’s not free either, I’ll gladly valet!
  22. Does this play a live view or just a still picture? This is pretty cool!!
  23. Where are you getting these updates? I’d love to follow along!
  24. Ok, I totally forgot there was a Rainforest Cafe!!! Totally not my thing, but the kids would love it!
