I have a question for vegans. I had a vegan aquintance in the past and she couldn't be anywhere she could smell meat. I made her physically ill. Wouldn't this plant based meat have the same affect? I'm truly interested.

We went thruough Insure My Trip. It's like a clearing house. We went with Nationwide Mutual Universal Cruise. It was $300 for 2. Clark Howard, who is a local financial guru in the Atlanta area, recommended this. It's a pretty comprehensive policy.

Does anyone know what happened to Dr E? We had him on a couple of cruises, he was great.

Unprepared as far as travel insurance goes, I agree. But what control did they have over a hit and run? Stupid? I dont think so. Accidents happen all the time.

You don't need insurance until you do.

We have always booked the Panorama deck, as far forward as we can get. Here lately, we've gotten spa cabins. There is minimal foot traffic. However, this does nothing for door slamming. A few times, it doesn't really bother us. But sometimes you get someone who doesn't "get" it and keeps it up throughout the cruise. Ugh.

We used to order a bottle of vodka for the the room. We haven't cruised since the shut down. Wow, the price has doubled! I guess along with everything else. I'm doing the math in my head to determine if it's worth it.

I sigh my receipts with a straight line. Literally takes a second. I do it without even thinking about it. No biggie.

We found that a good time to start stalking the web site is when final payment is due. Then is when people cancel and they also have an idea of how many plat/dia there'll be. Between the hubs and me, we would check a few times a day. This usually paid off. Also join roll calls and groups. A lot of times people will post when they open it up. A classic case of travel insurance coming in handy. It's reassuring that they took such good care of your husband.

That is another possibility. We have one more cruise booked with Carnival. Truthfully, we have started to look at other cruise lines.

I think Carnival is going to have to get their heads out of the sand and grow pair and do something about this or they will start hemmoraging their customer base.

I haven't cruised since Covid canceled our March 2020 cruise. Our next cruise is scheduled out of Miami May 2024 on the Magic. We've been cruising on Carnival since 2008 and have never run across such rude behaviour. You hear a lot of this going on lately. What has happened to people? Is it that Carnival is laxed in controling unruley passengers or have people just gone crazy. To say I am not concerned would be a lie. What can we do as loyal Carnival passgengers? We have always had a good vacation with Carnival at a reasonable price.

I've sailed out of Charleston a couple of times and the port is fine. It's definately different from what you're probably used to. The port has always been controversial. The city is divided, some love having it there and others hate it. I'm sorry that it will not be an option after 2024. My daughter lives in Charleston which makes it a cheaper trip for us. It's close and we don't have to pay for a hotel and parking. 🙂

Fun fact, the Magic was the last ship to be designed by Joe Farcus and you sure can tell. Regardless, the Magic is one of my favorite ships, gaudy or not.

Thanks for the info. We usually watch the show on the TV. I don't know why, but we can never seem to catch it in person.

This show is always so funny. How do they pick the contestants?

Very doubtful for many reasons. He would be noticed by the crew. They are all pretty familar with each other. Also, he will have to adventually leave the ship. If he was trying to disappear, it would seem to me that he would do it at one of the ports. He was obviously a family person as he was with a large family cruise. I can't imagine he would do this to them knowing how upsetting it would be. It might be that we will never know what happened to him. My best guess is that he went overboard some how and was missed by the cameras. I feel terrible for his family. I can't imagine what they are going through. Edit - I don't mean all the crew know each other, but I think he would be noticed by them.
