  1. You’re right - Cruiseskagen is only working with the cruise line. I’ll see if I can find any tour providers in Skagen tomorrow - getting late here in Denmark. Hopefully there are others who can also contribute.
  2. I tried to make a booking - No problems. I believe you will be able to book a single from Myrdal to Flåm on the day - no guarantee
  3. You need to post the ports of call for the two cruises - I’m not familiar with the Celebrity itineraries.
  4. It is 30 minutes by public transport from the terminals to city - bus to Orientkaj Metro station and then metro to city. Alternative is taxi. It’s 15/20 minutes by train or metro depending on location of hotel or taxi. No Uber in Denmark. As suggested by CruiseBruce you might want to stay at an airport hotel when you have an early flight - two hotels next to the terminal - same hotel chain - Nordic Choice - however will soon be Strawberry - Either Clarion or Comfort hotel. There is Metro or train from airport to city center.
  5. Denmark and Sweden are not in The Euro zone - Finland and Estonia are in The Euro Zone. Bring Euro. For Denmark and Sweden use credit card (chip and Pin) - almost cashless.
  6. Seyðisfjörður is in Iceland - unfortunately I’m not familiar with that port but the town (very small) is located in a 17 km long fjord.
  7. No cash, but a credit card with chip and PIN is highly recommended. Chip and PIN is the standard payment method in Norway and Iceland, and many small businesses as well as automated machines and self-service terminals, may not accept magnetic stripe cards or signature-based transactions.
  8. Cruise ships can still sail to Flåm (and Geiranger). 'Zero Emission' zones in the World Heritage Fjords will not be introduced until 2026. Work is being done on an option for ships that sail on Bio-LNG (Bio gas) to sail in the fjords until 2030. Gives the opportunity to visit Flåm with cruise ships a few more years - but the 'Norway in a Nutshell' trip is a good suggestion if you have a few extra days and are going from Oslo to Bergen.
  9. If you search this forum you’ll find a lot of suggestions for the four ports. Loen Skylift has a shuttle - Link to ‘Loen Shuttle’ - you can book Shuttle and Sky Lift here.
  10. Agree with @gnome12 - your first itinerary.
  11. And we do take food preparation and quality very seriously.
  12. You can ask all questions related to your cruise - you can also find useful information in the Northern Europe Forum. Use Barents Safari My advice is to book through the ship for ports of call - or just walk trough the cities - you’re relatively short time in each port and the range of excursions and operators is limited. A must is North Cape in Ålesund. In Kirkenes you can use Barents Safari You can use a cell phone - personally I’ll use a camera with a tripod and wide angle lens. If you plan to stay more days i Kirkenes it should be possible - contact Barents Safari. Highly recommended - if you have an extra day make a detour from Myrdal to Flåm and stay a night in the Flåm/Myrdal area. Book yourself - in particular if you not plan to stay in Oslo after your trip. SAS and Norwegian Air have daily services to Oslo. No experience- I’m normally book early when going to US Both very small cities - I did walk - In Bergen I can recommend to stay close to Bryggen Wharf - I normally stay at ‘Det Hanseatiske Hotel’ In Kirkenes only two hotels in city and the Snow Hotel which is outside the city - I’m recommend Thon Hotel - walking distance. Shuttle to the airport.
  13. … make a difference. Can’t remember all different travel plans. 15 minutes and DKK 350.
  14. Assuming from Oceankaj terminal - it takes 30 minutes - price DKK 420 to 500. Be at the airport two hours before departure - check for waiting time at security as well as possible cancellations/delays at cph.dk - at present there are capacity problems at Naviair, the company responsible for air traffic management at Copenhagen Airport, resulting in the risk of delays and cancellations.
  15. Yes, all major credit cards including Visa. Yes, Hotel will arrange for taxi. Ask at the hotel the day before.
  16. Sandnessjøen is one of the less visited destinations in Norway. I haven't been there myself. Here are some links. Contact the tourist office for more information. https://visithelgeland.com/en/places/sandnessjoen-city/ https://www.visitnorway.com/listings/lovund-skyss-%26%238211%3b-guided-boat-trips-along-the-helgeland-coast/203139/?lang=uk https://cruise-norway.no/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/sandnessjoen.pdf
  17. My advice will be to contact your CC company and stop he charge. This will be my advice too - I strongly believe that SPB tours is using local vendors - they do not have their own guides and operation in Helsinki. From the web it’s Berlin - but they are licensed in Russia - their web is not updated -still “Welcome to the season 2022”
  18. My general answer is No - alcohol is served on ships in Baltic ports, but in your case it may sound like a situation specific to NCL - you should ask the question in the NCL Forum. I have never heard of such restrictions.
  19. Welcome to Cruise Critics. In October and November, the best opportunities are in the western Mediterranean - here the weather is still fine. In the eastern Mediterranean a bit colder. If you have 10 days, use the extra days before the cruise to minimize the risk of flight delays and jet lag. And fly home directly after. If you have a favorite cruise line from your Caribbean cruises I would suggest you see what options they have.
  20. Depending on the ship's arrival and departure time, it is possible with one trip in the morning and the other in the afternoon - one option is to contact Olden Cruise by e-mail and find out what is possible.
  21. I would try to stop the payment until it is confirmed that they are still in business. Their current address is in Berlin, but the website only mentions guides living in St. Petersburg/ Russia and the company's registration number is in Russia. Personally, I would not in the current situation use a Russian registered company. It is possible for Russian tour operators to be hit by sanctions in Europe, depending on the specific sanctions imposed by the European Union or individual European countries.
  22. the sailing to Flåm and Geiranger is completely different - 3 to 4 hours sailing through deep fjords. Same fjords in and out, but I think they look best from the upper decks in the morning sun. In the evening there is dinner and often many activities. But also beautiful at sunset.
  23. Going on a cruise can be an exciting and enjoyable experience. Here are some tips and tricks to enhance your cruise vacation: Research and plan ahead: Research different cruise lines, itineraries, and ships to find the one that best suits your preferences. Consider factors such as the destination, cruise duration, onboard facilities, and activities. Book in advance: Cruises can fill up quickly, especially during peak seasons. Booking in advance ensures you secure your preferred cabin and can sometimes offer early bird discounts. Pack wisely: Pack essentials such as travel documents, medications, toiletries, and appropriate clothing for different occasions and destinations. Be sure to check the cruise line's dress code and any specific requirements for formal nights or themed events. Arrive at the port early: Give yourself ample time to check-in, go through security, and board the ship smoothly. Arriving early also allows you to explore the ship and take advantage of onboard amenities before the crowds arrive. Familiarize yourself with the ship: Once onboard, take some time to familiarize yourself with the layout of the ship. Locate key areas such as your cabin, dining venues, entertainment venues, pool areas, and spa facilities. Make dining reservations: Some cruise lines offer specialty dining options that require reservations. If there are specific restaurants or dining experiences you'd like to try, make reservations as soon as you board to secure your preferred times. Attend the safety drill: All cruise ships conduct mandatory safety drills shortly after embarkation. Pay attention and participate actively, as it is crucial to know the emergency procedures and the location of life jackets and muster stations. Budget for additional expenses: While many things are included in the cruise fare, such as meals and certain activities, be prepared for additional expenses. These may include gratuities, alcoholic beverages, specialty dining, spa services, shore excursions, and onboard shopping. Explore the ship's activities: Cruise ships offer a wide range of activities and entertainment options. Take advantage of onboard amenities such as swimming pools, fitness centers, spas, live shows, movies, sports activities, and themed parties. Participate in shore excursions: Research and book shore excursions in advance or once onboard. These guided tours and activities allow you to explore the ports of call and experience local attractions and culture. Stay hydrated: It's important to stay hydrated while on a cruise, especially in warm climates. Carry a refillable water bottle and take advantage of water stations throughout the ship to stay hydrated throughout the day. Stay organized: Keep important documents such as passports, cruise cards, and identification in a safe place. Use a small bag or wallet to carry these essentials with you when disembarking at ports. Respect the environment and fellow passengers: Practice good cruise etiquette by respecting the ship's rules and regulations, fellow passengers, and crew members. Be mindful of noise levels, cleanliness, and personal space. Enjoy the journey: Cruises offer a unique opportunity to relax, unwind, and enjoy the journey. Take time to appreciate the stunning ocean views, sunsets, and the overall experience of being at sea. Remember to check with your specific cruise line for any updated guidelines, protocols, or requirements related to health and safety, as these may vary.
  24. Does include three of the top ten ports in Norway - cannot comment on Bruges. Good choices for Flåm and Bergen - book Flåm railway in advance at Norways Bests. Only Geiranger left - either the panorama bus or HoHo to the viewpoints. For fjord sailings into Flåm and Geiranger you must be at the upper decks early to enjoy the scenery- be at deck at sunrise 4:30 am.
