  1. OP didn't say they were going to use it for work but some people have to do some work on vacation. That is reality. Others use laptops for hobbies or whatever. Really does not matter why and the cruise lines do sell wifi streaming packages which people use for streaming with different degrees os success. So your question is irrelevant.
  2. You must have went to Elbow or elsewhere. There are always taxis at Horseshoe because there are facilities and a lot of people at Horseshoe so the taxis hang out there. Going to beaches without facilities like Elbow and Warwick it can be difficult to get a taxi back. There are also the minibuses that shuttle back and forth at Horseshoe. They are not at other beaches. So getting transportation at Horseshoe is not difficult. There is a taxi dispatch app now called Hitch. Some have had success with the app at beaches like Elbow and Warwick. The app takes credit cards and charges about a 15% fee over the standard taxi fare to any location.
  3. The public bus from Dockyard to Horseshoe requires a 14 Zone fare not a 3 Zone fare. The 14 Zone fare would be $9 round trip for 2 $4.50 tokens. You would be dropped off at the public bus stop at the top of the cliff and have to catch the bus back at the top of the cliff. The minibuses and taxis can go down to the beach for drop off and pick up.
  4. That $32 fare is for the whole vehicle not per person. Taxis can hold 7, so 1-4 passengers would pay approximately $32 for the vehicle and 5-7 passengers will pay approximately $42 for the vehicle. There are surcharges for Sunday and for holidays. The fares are regulated by the government.
  5. A taxi will cost you about $32 each way. So $64. Plus a tip. A 15% tip is good in Bermuda. You really overtipped the minibus drivers. The minibus is $7 per person. They are ride share vans so a $1 tip for each minibus person would have been more appropriate.
  6. It is located now on the north side of York St, near Queen St.
  7. It takes 20 or 30 minutes to get by ferry to Hamilton. It takes 45 minutes to get to St. George’s by ferry. The math does not seem to be that going to St. George’s is faster. The NCL ferry would be free so that is a pro but it is possible that the Hamilton ferry schedule will be more convenient. The Hamilton ferry might run earlier than the NCL ferry. I prefer going to St, George because I would take a taxi from there but going to Hamilton would not make much difference.
  8. It won’t fit in the safe but many bring their laptops. A new iPad should not die. IPads are practically bulletproof. Either call Apple or go to an Apple Store. It might just be a matter of a reset. Some resets require multiple button combinations.
  9. I noticed out of Southampton that some British passengers have not yet been assimilated. 😀 Still when I sail out of Southampton on Celebrity I don’t pack a jacket. I could care less that some passengers think they are embarking on a glamorous vacation. They are welcome to stay in their costume. I will stay in my resort wear.
  10. It is ironic how the tables have turned. After years of reading dress code posts from fashion police that you must wear, a suit or a tux men, some kind of jacket and tie at the least, people who wear jackets or tuxes are now the ones who look out of place.
  11. It does not matter who your brother uses. It only matters who you use. Most T-Mobile cell plans include international data roaming and can have voice add ons but you should verify what plan you have. You would then only need a WiFi package to use on the ship.
  12. Some phone plans include international roaming in some countries. My plan includes Canada, Mexico and Latin America.
  13. Yes. In Airplane mode with WiFi on you are safe from roaming. I have never used WhatsApp. I use WiFi calling which acts like I am on my domestic cell phone carrier. What cell carrier do you use? What kind of cell phone? What kind of phone does your brother have.
  14. They can leave a message on your room phones voice mail. They could also ask you to contact guest services over the ships Public Address system.
  15. Because it is a fashion. That is why people do it.
  16. It affects your ambiance. It does not affect my ambiance.
  17. Not sure if you are clear about the minivans to Horseshoe. They run from the Dockyard not from Hamilton. The 1,3,10 and 11 buses are the bus routes to get to the caves either from Hamilton or from St. George’s. The 10 and 11 are the routes that go by the Aquarium from either Hamilton or St. George’s. There is a crossroads by the Swizzle Inn where all four routes, the 1,3 10 and 11 routes intersect. The caves are a short distance. From the caves back to the crossroads you can catch any of the four routes including the 10 or 11 which go by the Aquarium. Added: You will have to take a ferry to either Hamilton or St. George first. Then catch a bus.
  18. It is a lot of fun. Probably one of the best mini golf courses in the world. It was $15 a few years ago. It is easy walking distance from the dock. Also It is open 10 am to 10 pm. So it can be an evening activity.
  19. I have been there. It is geared to children but I would say elementary and middle school age. Yours may be too young. YMMV. It is in Hamiton on Front St., the same street as the ferry terminal. About a 15 minute walk. You would have take the ferry to Hamiton. No need to do cruise line excursions in Bermuda. You won't have any more safety in Bermuda on their excursions than doing everything on your own. You will only be paying a higher price. And likely people will be on the same excursion who booked independently at a lower price. Also ny place you would go with the cruise line in Bermuda you can safely do yourself.
  20. That is what I meant. You said it better than I did!
  21. Not only choice as to whether to view or not we can say don't recommend a channel on YouTube. There is also a not interested option. Not interested means the one video will disappear from recommended videos while not recommend means that channel won't get recommended.
