  1. Adding to the home screen is an old feature. I did that ages ago. What is new that the banner announced is that the icon for the shortcut was a blob thumbnail of the page. The recent change is that the shortcut to the community forums is now a nice Cruise Critic icon (on an iPhone, I don't know what Android users see) and not a blob thumbnail.
  2. I never got an email about it. Surprised there has been no announcement. I had to log in to the app using my email not my handle and then log in again to the community. I will test it out and see if it is better for me than the current mobile experience on my smartphone.
  3. If you book the cruise please post how it works out. It will be helpful for passengers with mobility issues.
  4. We are Elite + on Celebrity and would like someone who can accurately indicate where the TRAM stops before I book ANOTHER Bermuda sailing. We have been to Bermuda many times since we started cruising over 23 years ago and NOW would like to cut down on as much unnecessary walking as possible. I am Elite + too and I understand that you need to cut down on walking. The map shows the tram stop nearest the ship berths. There are two markers on the map. One with a little car in the circle is for taxis. The other one with a little bus is the tram stop. There used to be a tram stop at Kings Wharf where the Summit always docked but unfortunately they removed it. My guess is that Eclipse will dock at the Kings Wharf berth which is farther away from the tram stop because the NCL mega ships can’t dock at Heritage Wharf. The 2024 port schedule which shows the berths is not out yet. Since the tram would have to go to the end to turn around you might be able to get dropped off closer to the ships but I can’t say for sure as I never rode the trams.
  5. At the Dockyard there is Bermuda Fun Golf. The Zoo is worth it for small children. For adults there is nothing special. We took a small child snd she was in the same age range and she loved it. You are close to the animals. It is easy to get to Horseshoe Bay which is the best beach where they rent chairs. There are $7 per person minibus shuttles that run back and forth between the Dockyard and Horseshoe Bay. Horseshoe Bay is a gem. There is a private beach at the Dockyard but it is man made and not very good.
  6. You asked about the tram about a week ago on the Bermuda board and the answer remains the same. There is a free tram that runs around the Dockyard. It has a stop by the Frog and Onion and a stop by the Clocktower mall. I posted a map that shows where the tram stop is in relation to the ship berths and a map of the Dockyard.
  7. A slight correction. Tapatalk still exists. What you mean is that Cruise Critic is no longer available on the Tapatalk app. I use Tapatalk all the time to participate in two forums that are on the app. Tapatalk remains a great way to participate in forums on smartphones.
  8. You had to have cruised with Azamara before January 31, 2023 for your points to carry over from Captains Club but it appears that in the split they don't show anyones Loyalty Points. Maybe I am missing something but I can't seem to find Azamara's Loyalty program at a ll on their web site.
  9. That is a link to the Cruise Critic forums web page. It is not a real app. See post #8 by broberts on the topic How to add Cruise Critic to….that I linked to.
  10. That is why many ports don't want cruise ships anymore. If the passengers are not going to spend in ports there is little benefit to the local economy from the ships. I try to at least have lunch in port at a local restaurant to help the local economy.
  11. I have read that foriegn MacDonald's have some interesting items on the menu. Never checked that out. I hope none are cruising to Tokyo and staying on the ship but sounds like some people who have posted do just that. What a waste....
  12. You added Cruise Critic to your home screen. It is not an app. The banner you saw expained how to add an Cruise Critic to an iPhone home screen. It is a link not an app. It probably works similarly on Android and that is what you did.
  13. There are Tuk Tuk tours that are every day. It is new but I have heard good things about them. https://tuktukbermuda.com You can get the tourist map at the Visitor Information Centre and do it yourself. Hamilton is a small town and easy to walk around. Saturday would be better as most stores in Hamilton are closed on Sunday. Or you could do a taxi tour.
  14. Fentanyl…..oh wow. I guess the cruise lines will need to have Narcan available. https://www.royalgazette.com/court/news/article/20230824/cruise-ship-passenger-fined-for-drug-importation/
  15. Exactly. I want to know where the smoking areas are to avoid the second hand smoke and the stink.
  16. Like the Villages? No thanks. Actually I don’t want to cruise out of Florida at all. What I meant was adding more cruises to Florida and less to Europe and South America. Hate to see Celebrity becoming just another Caribbean cruising line. All those Caribbean ports with the same stores Diamonds International etc. Boring. I am glad that living in Florida makes cruises convenient for you. You can have one big Florida party.
  17. I get two emails every day from Celebrity. There are always new offers and similiar repeat offers. I don't worry about an offer going away. There will be a new offer that might be better when I am ready to book. After I book before final payment I watch the offers too as there sometimes is a better offer than the one I booked with.
  18. I think you are asking about whether they accept US currency? USD is accepted everywhere in Bermuda. The Bermuda dollar is pegged to the US dollar. You don't want Bermuda currency except maybe as a souvenir as you can only get it in Bermuda, use it in Bermuda, and any you bring home you will only be able to use if you return to Bermuda. You might get some as small change.. You will want to use it up in Bermuda. If you are from Canada or the UK get some USD before you go to Bermuda.
  19. You can buy two tokens which would be enough for a round trip or a transportation pass at the booth. The shuttle minibuses are a better option for Horseshoe than the public buses as they go right down to the beach. Plus there have been numerous bus cancellations every day this summer reported in their local press. I advise against the public buses if possible until they finish getting their new buses.
  20. Yes could say JS is is more like a large balcony but they are larger than concierge class cabins. The concierge class cabins are different sizes so on some Celebrity ships. They are larger on Edge class than older ships but still smaller than JS.
  21. Not surprising. Concierge Class is not a suite. I know JS is really just a large balcony but they are larger than Concierge Class cabins.
  22. I have gotten as much as $50. They just give you the difference in price as the next category if it is eligible and you have to ask for it at time of booking.
  23. Why would anyone volunteer for huge tech companies. Seems rather odd… Celebrity’s IT problems are not recent. There have been ongoing for years. I would say over two decades. Almost seems like they are using volunteers instead of professionals. As for your last paragraph about the site going down that actually might not be at Celebrity’s end. It could be internet congestion. I certainly would not want an email from them every time the site was unavailable.
