  1. The answers you get on this thread will likely be similar or the same as you received in the other thread you started yesterday on the same topic
  2. maybe this would be of some help: https://www.princess.com/en-us/ships-and-experience/ships/staterooms/suites
  3. I will be on same cruise as you. I wear slacks and long sleeve collared shirt to the dining room. I used to take khaki pants but they can be bulky fo packing depending on brand. I now take very light weight no iron dress pants for my visits to the dining room. Moores mens wear has a good selection. I haven’t taken a tie or jacket on a cruise for past five years.
  4. You could always call HAL at the number in the email offer and they will verify the source of the offer. You can voice your displeasure with them. They may offer you something , or they may stop sending your son offers so you won’t be irked. Wont know until you try.
  5. Isnt that the same promotion they have offered continuously for the last two years?
  6. No one has a crystal ball to answer those questions for you. Only you can make the decision. I do however agree with the philosophy of “ Live for today, tomorrow is not guaranteed. And incidentally, we are booked on a transpacific from Sydney,Australia to Vancouver for April 2024. No idea what the world will be like then, but i feel Australia and the ship will be as safe as anywhere.
  7. I submitted my proof credentials after booking and the OBC was added to my booking
  8. People complaining about “Well Seasoned” adult cruisers on HAL is a bit ridiculous. It is like complaining that you went to a football game and everyone there were football fans. Complainers should pick a cruise line that fits their age IF they don't enjoy a mixture of age groups. It would leave so much more room for the rest of us on HAL. End of rant.
  9. I personally do not use a TA because I have not been able to find a good one to keep. For those that have found a good one, they have been worth their weight in gold. I started out trying to use TAs, but after a few times asking for a specific stateroom and being told it was not in (their) inventory, i gave up and started booking direct
  10. I was assigned a PCC two years ago and receive emails from her on a regular basis with the sam3 promos that is on the website. I have never been able to use her to book as she is never available. Recently i made four phone calls to her to book a cruise and just got a recorded message and never received a call back. I ended up calling the reservations number and used the cruise consultant that answered the phone . Booking went well and was a pleasant experience. Now fast forward three weeks and today I get an email from the PCC thanking me for booking with her(which I didn't) and advising me to call if I needed any assistance going forward with the booking. I called twice today, got recorded message and no call back. I just want to ensure that she is not getting credit for the booking she did not make. Will try my luck tomorrow. PS. I have always found the general cruise consultants excellent with HAL and the other Lines I have booked with. Rant over.
  11. You are special, not just because you got a free cruise. Lol
  12. Im one of the “old people” being referred to. Remember age is just a number, but while on the topic, it is nice to see the 50 some cougars on the cruises as well. 😇
  13. If your original reservation documents show tips included in the always included that you purchased, you should definitely call your TA and verify that the tips are still included. Is that paragraph on a Celebrity document or on a TA document? I believe the removal of tips in the AI was only for bookings made after October 4th 2023
  14. Haven’t been on HAL since 2017. Ive been looking at posted dailies for a few recent cruises and noticed there were no 7pm and 9pm shows listed. Has HAL completely moved away from guest entertainers, singer and dancer shows etc in the main theatre at night? I have a 25 day cruise booked for a few months time and was wondering if longer cruises with multiple sea days might have more entertainment than what I see listed on recent shorter cruises. We are mid 70’s , but still like the evening shows.
  15. We had our first responders status verified two weeks after booking. We called HAL and it was already added to our booking
  16. I currently have a HAL cruise booked with a non refundable deposit. When I went to my booking it allowed me to purchase the protection plans. Why would they allow me to purchase it if my non refundable deposit disqualifies me? Or is it just a glitch on their website
  17. No law , but i book in Canadian dollars so i know my exchange rate at time of booking vs having to deal with fluctuating rates pending final payment date. On line U.S agencies I have contacted , book in U.S. dollars
  18. I believe if you click on a members name, on the screen that appears you can send a private message with the info.
  19. Is it a canadian TA where you pay in Canadian dollars or is it an online TA that is USA but also operates in Canada.
  20. So if im going to do all that anyway, why book the actual cruise with a TA when I can do it myself. It seems Cdn TAs do not offer the added perks as some US TAs do.
  21. I have tried using a dedicated PCC but their work hours are so short it leaves a very small window to discuss or deal with a booking. My Local TAs offer no perks and can do nothing for me that I cannot do myself. I like to have control of my bookings both for the cruise and flights. For those reasons, i always call the cruise line booking number and give them all the info to create my booking. From that point forward, if I need something actioned on my booking I call their booking number and deal with whatever agent answers. In this way I am not dependent on the 9 to 5 availability of a TA or PCC. In one case i tried contacting a dedicated PCC that had sent me an email from the cruise line to book a heavily discounted cruise. Voicemail said PCC was very busy and to leave a message for callback. I left a message , but after a few hours of no call, i booked through the 1 800 number. Following morning the discounted cruise had increased by $1000 pp. several hours later the dedicated PCC called with apologies but a tad late.
  22. Noordam from Sydney to Vancouver in April 2024 has some good perks and prices right now if you sign in with your mariner number
  23. We stayed at the Rydges in 2016 ( it was Holiday Inn then). for our cruise , we have booked it again for April 2024 prior to our Transpacific. We found room very comfortable and an excellent breakfast. Big plus was how close it was to everything. Short walk to Opera House, ferries, restaurants and loved enjoying the nitelife along the harbour walking to Opera House.
