  1. Only if they are slow getting off the ship.
  2. We always do the 2 day trip on the Cascades route. We take the 10:40 from Portland gets to Seattle 2:05. Overnight with a nice dinner. Then 2nd day 8:30 train to Vancouver 12:30. You do need to get to Seattle station a little early for passport check and be aware there are sometimes delays. We get in 1 day before sailing
  3. So how do you tip those people on board who do things for you that you never see ?
  4. Assuming everyone in your group has a medallion and the minor is listed as a travel companion then the locate function of the app will allow you to see where he is on board
  5. Believe it or not the vendor for the art gallery pays Princess a lot of money to run it
  6. That is a travel group I would not want to be associated with. I have shamed my own friends who do want to tip on land or sea
  7. Here in Portland we say that the only time you can’t get along with jeans and sneakers are weddings and funerals. Most people don’t even own ties
  8. Again I am referring to people who will say I don’t like anything on the menu tonight make me something different
  9. It all depend on customs but every cruise I have been on disembarkation was usually between 7-8 unless there was a customs or Coast Guard hold
  10. In our 70’s now beaches are not the draw they were 30 years ago. LOL
  11. We are big on penthouse suites on Grand class and even Royal class. The Sun does not interest me.
  12. So just ask to have that allergy noted and they will create some substitutions. I am more referring to comments lately about not enough meat dishes or too much seafood. If my wife eats peanuts she has to be rushed to the infirmary so we always ask tons of questions and often they have to go back and ask the chefs
  13. Even on ports we have been to tons of times it is great to go ashore and eat lunch at a favorite restaurant or find a new favorite
  14. Gratuities are only optional if you have the gall to go to guest services and remove them.
  15. No one forces you to use room service or OceanNow. You can get food and beverage all over the ship. I would hardly call that steerage Do the keep you out of the theatre or MDR ? This is not the Titanic
  16. You realize that was a year ago. Life goes on and things change
  17. We do the train ride in 2 parts Oregon to Seattle overnight and the Seattle to Vancouver very relaxing
  18. We never bid for upgrades on our casino freebies. We get a free balcony and at the same time pay the difference for a full suite. We only want to travel in suites why would we take the chance
  19. Breakfast door hanger service is still free. Phoning room service is a charge unless you have a package. Where have you been ? This is not that new
  20. I would always choose the smaller ship that doesn’t have a class distinction
  21. That is what I drink on ship fits on the plus package
  22. We haven’t taken a 7 day cruise that was not part of a back to back in years. Counting them as one cruise our booked cruises are 16, 14, 15 and 20 days. We recently did a 10 day Mexico just to get away
  23. But if they honor a few days then someone will want a few weeks and then a few weeks. The ugly spiral
  24. At your own risk. Sit down at a table and order 4 drinks they will ask for 4 packages. Unless they drink a lot of sodas or coffees just pay as you go
  25. Will do. Pre dinner Manhattan or 3 coming up in 6 days
