  1. HAL doesn't use a service. None of the proctored services are free, at least that I have heard of. A search around Cruise Critic finds MANY threads regarding Covid test proctoring services, here was one I found quickly:
  2. Agree...getting signed up for Global Entry would be wise. Also agree, knowing Immigration vs Customs is important. Immigration (without Global Entry) can take considerable time. Customs usually takes much less. With Global Entry, both Immigration and Customs takes very little time.
  3. Ride shares and related stuff like this are arranged on your Roll Call, per Cruise Critic rules. Your Roll Call would be located here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/269-pride-of-america-roll-calls/ A quick look didn't find one, but you can create one over there. Just follow the naming protocol.
  4. Yep, 28th and 5th for sure. Are you leaving port early any day? Maybe 12/31, but can't be sure.
  5. See answer on your other thread...which was posted 40 minutes after this?
  6. I strongly suspect there won't be a testing requirement. But historically, HAL has provided required testing on B2Bs. By the way, this is commonly referred to as a side to side, or a S2S.
  7. If you have access to the 26 Glaciers tour, its awesome!
  8. I would start with asking this on the NCL board, here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/64-norwegian-cruise-line/ You might also get some info on your Roll Call, here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/266-norwegian-sun-roll-calls/
  9. If you look at the comments in post #8, and do a little research, you would see Rhapsody has a beam of 117 feet...too big for the old locks.
  10. Yes. Many...commonly called Baltic cruises, although Norway isn't usually on Baltic cruises, but it was on a B2B we went on in 2013. Putting a relevant title on your thread would be helpful.
  11. Outside the US, typically a B2B turnaround day is usually just another day in port.
  12. If you look at their name and post count, it appears they are from Texas.
  13. Agree. I would be calling the agency involved. Some of these things are still limited post Covid.
  14. Huh? First, you can't dock in Lahaina, its a tender port, and I don't believe an NCL ship will tender to Lahaina. And, the car rental places are not in walking distance in Lahaina. I would expect a NCL ship to dock at Kahalui. There is (at least used to be, pre-Covid, I think it has opened again) ONE car rental place in walking distance...the others are at the airport, and a pretty healthy 2.5 mile walk, along less than good walking locations, in the Hawaii heat. And we are serious walkers!
  15. Thanks...you are correct. However, the OP said they were going in "late April ", so I sense Easter will not affect them.
  16. First, do not book for the night before, its a waste of money. The far better solution for jet lag is to change to the local time as fast as possible, by staying active and moving until as close as possible to normal bedtime in the new time zone. So walk around, see the sites, enjoy one of the best cities in the world. Secondly, there are several threads here on hotels. Most like to stay in the historic center, but if your budget is a little more generous, I would stay at the Cavalleri, one of the best hotels in the city. Lastly, early check in is always a function of availability. April in Rome isn't going to be as busy as other times...your chance of early check in is better. But hotels rarely refuse to hold your bags until your room is available. Plus, it will take you probably a minimum of 2 hours to clear out of FCO and get to your hotel, so you probably won't be there much before 10am.
  17. If you look at this thread and some of the links in it, you will see what the KDam is doing for Christmas 2023. You just have to do some looking around and monitoring the board. Hint...sailing to Hawaii on December 21, 2023:
  18. Don't know that I have ever heard of a cruise line hotel booking that doesn't include transfers. But, yes, the mark up is extreme. You can almost always can do better on your own, and we only book through the cruise line in unique situations, like arriving in Lima, Peru at midnight.
  19. Because maybe the police getting through was a high risk operation...not worth making multiple trips with innocent people? Maybe the bus was in a safe location, just couldn't get past the flooding. Making the ship with a dangerous, high risk operation IS NOT the priority. People being safe is. Really, second guessing people at the scene from a 1000 (or more) miles away?
  20. You will be too far out to sea. The ship doesn't stay close to land.
