  1. Your Lizzie looks very much like our Oreo, who is always just as innocent as your Lizzie is. 🙀😻 Our Lorna has her colors somewhat reversed, black face with white spot under her chin and probably the most guilty of any of the three. 😹
  2. @The Fun Researcher, I’m sorry to hear about you Mom’s injury, but glad to hear that her surgery was successful. Hopefully her recovery will go well and her doctor will think she’s ok to go on your cruise. My own surgical experiences have been slightly different than your Mom’s but some of the things I’ve learned from mine still apply. 1) Definitely keep the lines of communication open with her doctor and go by what the doctor says will be best for her. 2) Physical therapy will be very important for her long term recovery. Her PT can most likely give her exercises to do even while she is on the ship if she’s able to go. Some exercises she’ll be able to do on her own in the room. Depending on where she’s at in her recovery she may be able to use the gym on board the ship as well. I was farther out in my recovery than I think your Mom will be and found a number of the exact same machines that I was already using on my own in PT available in the ship’s gym, and took full advantage of them. I didn’t try anything new, just what I was already doing and what my doctor and PT recommended for me. 3) I’d definitely suggest a scooter for her to use during the cruise. She will tire out much more easily than she normally would, and having her own scooter will give her a sense of independence that a wheelchair would because she won’t want to “bother” any of you with having to push her around. While I’m sure none of your family members would feel it was a bother to be pushing her, if she’s anything like me - and I suspect she is since she still wants to go on the cruise - she will want to do as much as she can for herself. 4) What worked best for me when I wanted to walk rather than ride was a walker as opposed to a cane or crutches. I was not very stable on my feet early on in any of me recoveries and the walker gave me the best chance of remaining upright. I always felt very secure and stable on my feet when using the walker. Not so much with the cane or crutches, although I never fell with any of them. I do wish at times that I’d had a walker with a seat option instead of the standard one that I had because it would have given me the option to take a break and sit if I needed to or even to have someone push me if necessary. We live near WDW and I did a lot of traveling around the Orlando area theme parks during my various recoveries and the scooter/walker options definitely worked the best foe me. Once again, check with her doctor and PT to see what they think will be the best options for your Mom. My suggestions here are just that, suggestions based on what worked for me during my three rounds of leg surgeries for you to run by her doctor and PT to see what they suggest. I hope your mother’s recovery goes well and that your family is able to cruise as planned. Please keep us up to date as to how your Mom’s recovery is going and how your family’s cruise plans are going, too.
  3. @DeerJod, you should be easy to spot in a crowd in that outfit! 😂 Glad to hear that the smoke has started to dissipate in NY. The pictures. I’ve been seeing look like something out of a science fiction movie.
  4. This is going to be a fun trip. I’m glad to be virtually cruising along with you! 😎🛳️
  5. Thank you very much for doing this review, @OCSC Mike! I know you were on the fence as to whether you were going to take on the task of doing a review of this extended family cruise on Wonder or not. I for one am glad you decided to do it! You’re off to a great start. I’ll be here happily following along.Enjoy your cruise and your time with the family. We’ll be here when you can find time to keep us up to date. Happy anniversary to all who are celebrating in your family! 🥂🎉
  6. I love Allure in PC. Nice short drive to port for us. I do not love the short itineraries. Either 6/8 days alternating or 7 day itineraries in PC would be fine with me! We booked a B2B with our 4 day itinerary going to Cozumel so we have the two Bahamas stops followed by a “sea day” on turnaround day in PC followed by a sea day when we really are at sea, a day on the beach in Cozumel, and another really at sea day on our way home. It’s not my ideal itinerary by a long shot but we’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the ship. I’ll be very interested in seeing how they schedule the shows but I’m sure we’ll find a way to make the schedule work. @Lionesss, congratulations on your casino winnings. I have a lot of luck in the casinos, too. Unfortunately for me the luck I have is all bad luck, so I stay away from the casinos. 🤣 Thank you very much for all of the information you’re sending our way.
  7. I wish Allure was doing 7 day cruises when she comes back home to us, but we’ll take what we can get. We booked a B2B 3/4 day. The 3 day goes to Nassau so we’ll get to see what was a nothing but a construction zone on our last visit there and Coco Cay where I’ll go and find some fishies 🐡🐠🐟🦈 to swim with. Our 4 day leg goes to Cozumel, so 2 sea days to enjoy and way more fishies 🐙🐡🦑🐠🦈🐟 to swim with! We’d love to sail Wonder one of these day - when either the prices go down or I get over the sticker shock of paying nearly double the price for the shiny newer ship! Our day for Wonder will come but for now we’ll happily enjoy all that Lady Allure has to offer. 😎
  8. I’m looking forward to following along with you! We’re not back on Allure until April 2024. We’re very much looking forward to sailing on her again. While we’re waiting, I’ll enjoy cruising along with you! 😎🛳️🌴
  9. I hope you’re right about following the 3/4 day cruises following the 7 day schedule. We don’t sail until April 2024, so really too far out to know for sure at this point but it would be a good sign for us since we’re doing a B2B and are looking forward to seeing all the shows. Blue Planet wasn’t showing when we sailed Allure since it was right after post Covid reopening and it sounds like a show I would really like. I’ll be checking the 3 & 4 day sailings on the app once they start up in the fall.
  10. I had a problem signing in tonight but saw a message about the switch over to using your email that you registered here with instead of your previous log in name. I tried that and got in with no problem. Used my email as my login and the same password that I’ve been using here recently.
  11. Here’s a few more pictures of the cup handles we use. Handle opened up. Handle cup with both straps fastened. I purposely didn’t push the ends of the straps down so you can see where they ended up after I trimmed them. Handle with the top handle fastened and the top one not. The strap wraps around the cup and goes through a slot on the other side of the handle then doubles back to fasten.
  12. Here’s the handle we use. They work very well. The straps wrap around and attach with Velcro so they fit every size cup. I ended up cutting some off of the bottom strap because it was a bit too long. Bought them on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/YOUCOX-Anti-Slip-Adjustable-Tumbler-SUNWILL/dp/B0936XNR2C/ref=sr_1_5?crid=1D5CLUJIASS28&keywords=adjustable+tumbler+handle&qid=1684967778&sprefix=Adjustable+tumbler+%2Caps%2C353&sr=8-5
  13. Thank you very much for taking us along with you on your cruise. I enjoyed sailing along with you, and enjoyed the land portion of your trip as well.
  14. I’m glad to hear that you were successful in getting your passport replaced! Hope you’re able to catch up on the sleep 😴 you missed and are able to relax and enjoy your cruise.
  15. I emailed our request 2 weeks prior to our recent Odyssey cruise and never heard back. I went to the MDR when we boarded and found that they did already have my request and that everything was set just as I had requested. I wish they would reply as it would be a whole lot less stressful for the customer, only takes a minute to do, and zero cost to send an email. Also good customer relations. Hope everyone here gets their dining requests honored.
  16. Interesting, we had a similar situation with out departure plans on our recent Odyssey cruise. I had requested a late departure, and got a reply that I had been given pretty much the earliest departure time available. I was able to go to go to Guest Services and get our departure time changed to what I had originally requested, but it gave me the feeling that nobody even bothered to look at the desired departure time I had requested. I have been thoroughly enjoying your review. As others have already mentioned, I’m sure your beautiful DeeDee has been right there with you the whole way, and may have even been the unseen inspiration for you to scatter the last of her ashes exactly when and where you did. She’s exactly where she is supposed to be, and where she would have wanted. I also want to thank you for sharing that part of your journey with us. I know from my own personal experience that sharing my grief over my own loss was a very important part of my own journey through grief and ultimately healing, and that was through others sharing their own journeys through that process that allowed me to proceed through my own when I had no idea what to do with all the emotions I was going through at the time. You’re not walking alone on your journey. We’re walking right there beside you.
  17. I’ve already checked their website 🐠🐡🐟 and that’s even with absolutely no idea when I’ll be able to get back to Bonaire again! 😀 Right now it doesn’t seem likely for our next cruise, but we don’t have that booked yet so it could still change. Thank you very much for an excellent review. I’ve really enjoyed cruising along with you. 🛳 I’m glad you decided to take us along with you!
  18. Thanks for the heads up on this AMEX offer! I’ve added it on my card, still have to check on DH’s card. I haven’t gotten the last two offers that came out, so I’m grateful for whatever I get from this one. I almost booked two cruises a couple of days ago but held off for some reason. I wasn’t sure why but for some unknown reason I decided to wait. I’m now very glad I did!
  19. We were at Coco Cat two+ weeks ago on Odyssey with Harmony there as well. We started our day at South Beach which was totally packed! We walked around for quite a while before we finally managed to find two chairs. After seeing two groups nearby nearly coming to blows over the lack of available chairs we decided to move on. We headed over to Chill Island and were able to find chairs there, but only in the very back. At least it was a lot more “chill” on Chill Island, but it was still crowded. We ended up having a nice day on Coco Cay, but it would be a real stretch to call it a perfect day.
  20. Thanks for sharing those beautiful snorkel pictures from your tour with Woodwind! I’m glad to hrear and see that you had such a good experience with them. 🐟😀🐠 Now that I’m not diving much any more, I will most likely book with then the next time I get to Bonaire.
  21. Thank you for a great review! I loved following along with you and would love to sail this itinerary myself some day.
  22. I’m loving your review! Europe is not in the cards for us at this point in time so I’m enjoying seeing it now through your eyes. Thank you!
  23. Thank you, Dustin. I’m really enjoying your review including the land portions. Thank you very much for sharing with us.
