Put the things in the drawers and on the bathroom shelves into your suitcase. Leave the hanging things on hangers. They will bring a cart to move your clothes and belongings to the new room.

I am pretty sure you can drop your bags off and go off exploring and then check in and board the ship. I’m not so sure you can check in and then leave again.
