Does Royal give cruise certificates at the end of a cruise if you lose a certain amount, but not meet the point requirements? If so, what are those parameters?

Yes, you will receive a certificate at the end of your cruise, every 400 points earned will give you $100 off a cruise.

2400 points complimentary Inside on select sailings or $500 off a cruise

3600 points complimentary OV on select sailings or $750 off a cruise

4800 points complimentary Balcony on select sailings or $1000 off a cruise

I was told that any points earned from April 1, 2018-March 31,2019 were for your tier benefits valid for April 1, 2019-March 31, 2020. So your would not be prime until April 1, 2019.

I was told yesterday that if you take a cruise this fall and earn enough points to become Prime, you would be Prime on that cruise and continuing through March 31, 2020. I guess it depends upon who you speak with. So Royal is being consistent with being inconsistent...lol.

Laura got a $300 certificate on Mariner for bad luck according to the host. He also gave me a drink sticker for the second leg of that trip

Yes. On a recent cruise on Grandeur, I only accumulated 1126 points but was given a complimentary balcony room due to my losses (some will say I simply pre-paid my cruise...which is a fair assessment). We took that complimentary balcony room (the one that was upgraded to an OS for $498) last week. On THAT cruise both Dan and I got complimentary inside rooms even though neither of us reached the "free room" threshold. So yes, they definitely count your losses when calculating your "rewards". But here is the lesson. ALWAYS go to the Casino host on the last night and talk to him/her. If we had not done that on this last cruise, we would have gotten 2 certificates for a total of $400 instead of 2 free cruises. While I know for sure that they consider your losses, I am convinced that they do NOT do that automatically. I think you have to ask them to calculate it to include your losses or they will just give you whatever is easiest for them to calculate, which is points alone.

What is the criteria for calculating losses ? I have no earthly idea. All I know is that I have been given 2 complimentary cruises on my last 2 cruises and if they were going strictly by points, I would not have qualified. Also, if I had not gone to the host/ess to verify it, I would not have received either complimentary cruise. If you have lost significant $$, MAKE them calculate your losses and see if it will make a difference. I'm batting 1000 right now using this strategy.

That's a pretty sweet consolation prize. :) Thank you for sharing this, Raye.

These are the latest cruise certificates for an Inside and Balcony sailings. They list the same sailings we received from our May cruise. Hoping new certificates come out soon with updated sailings for 2019.

The balcony listing is the same I got from the Casino Host last night on the Harmony. They actually left an Inside certificate at our cabin door the night before (Thursday night). I checked with the host later that night and I had enough additional points so they exchanged it for an Oceanview. I played some on Friday afternoon and again in the evening. When I checked on any comp rebate or free play around midnight on Friday, I was told they would put it on my account. I was also told I was only 220 points short of the 4800 needed to get the balcony/$1000 certificate. I picked a slot and played for about a half hour to get my points. The best thing was I invested $200 in the slot and cashed out $1.25 ahead so the cost to "upgrade" my certificate was nil. I hope that they add additional cruises to the list within the next 30 days as the list has limited value as it only goes through next March.

I was also told that if my points from this past April 1, 2018 through March 31, 2019 total 25,000, I will become Signature at the point of time I reach that figure and will carry that level ranking over to the next program year (4/1/19 - 3/31/20). Dex, one of the Hosts on the Harmony, seemed to have a good grasp of the new program and was helpful in answering my questions and in getting me to the Balcony certificate cabin level.

That sounds like a really bad practice, especially when the last day is a sea day.

I don't care for how they handle distribution of the certificates. On a prior cruise, I didn't even get the certificate in my cabin. Fortunately, I asked the host on the last night and she said that it was supposed to have been delivered, but she printed me an extra copy just in case.

Laura got her initial one re-printed on the last night. Two certs, same number

Same experience here. You may not have the points but if you lose enough they'll give you the cert.

I've also had instances where:

They issued a cert but I didn't receive it. The casino host reissued after I asked.

They issued a cert for $100 when it was supposed to be the cert for $1000 (or balcony). The casino host reissued after I asked.

She didn't understand why I was upset.

They issued the cert for $750 (or oceanview) when I qualified for the cert for $1000 or balcony. The casino host reissued after I asked. I've gotten the cert for $750 (or oceanview) a couple of others times in the past but didn't think to ask.

I feel like this happens too often for it just to be incompetence.

I think that is (or was) the standard means of distribution as I have experienced that process on several ships. It definitely pays to check with the host on the last night so that any points earned the last day and evening are included. Also, be sure to have your play comps either issued as a credit on your Sea pass account or issued in free slot play vouchers. I had nearly 100 credited towards my Sea Pass account.

We've received our vouchers as early as 2 nites before we disembark, we have learnt now to go see the host and double check on the last nite if we've qualified for a better cert, twice now they've switched them out for better ones.

Does anyone know which cruises are part of the Fall 2018 free cruise offer? There is no info on the club royale offers webpage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not sure what offer you are looking for... I have a "Monthly" offer outstanding that expires 09/26/2018 with an offer code of 181RCL608.
