To add confusion to uncertainty, Club Royale also considers losses in the casino when awarding certificates. So if the awards don’t seem to correspond directly with points, it’s probably due to losses.  On our recent LIB cruise, going strictly by points, we would not have received any complimentary cruises but we both received complimentary balcony certificates. The hostess explained that the certificates were both upgraded due to our wagering losses.  While not thrilled with losing money, we got our upcoming Thanksgiving Cruise on NAV (maybe...if she doesn’t sink before then) out of it.

Now this might be interesting.

I have been on Liberty of the Seas twice this year. I am also booked on Navigator of the Seas Nov 23 sailing.

I can't say if Royale has a clue as to what they (or computer program) do.

Interesting that the 3 Anthem cruises are the same on all the certificates, just the cabin level changes.   I wonder if it's going to cost more to upgrade your cabin.  I was able to upgrade from an inside to a balcony for usually less than $300.  You usually end up losing a lot more than that going from 2400 points  to 4800 points, unless you are very lucky.  I already have 2 of them booked in balcony cabins. With my 150% solo rate, OBC, from next cruise and my $400 and $500 certificates it's not even worth trying for a free inside.  Example:  I booked the 11/16/19 a few weeks ago on the ship for a total of $933 including port charges and taxes.  I received $200 OBC and was able to apply a $500 certificate from a cruise early in October.  Final cost making my final cost $233. I think from now on I'm stopping when I get to 1600 or 2000 points depending on how I'm doing.

Gayle, I think your strategy is sound.  This is the same conclusion we have come to after nearly a year of experimenting with this new system.  BY FAR the best deals are the "free" cruises on any of the lists for which you qualify, even if you have to start at an inside room.  The upgrading to whatever level you want is much more reasonable than expending the time and resources to try and qualify for a higher certificate.  We have upgraded "free" certificates on 2 different cruises over the past few months and upgraded them to Owner's Suites for very reasonable upgrade fees.  I also agree that the "dollars off" certificates are pretty  much useless.  Since they will no longer offer you a casino rate and allow you to compound the dollars off certificates with the casino rate, you will end up paying much more by paying full price for a cruise and then applying some meager dollars off certificate.  I guess the exception would be if there is a particular cruise that you just HAVE to go on.

The oceanview listing is the same new certificate listing that I  just received last Thursday evening on the Serenade.  I also agree that it may not pay to get the extra points for a balcony when you can often upgrade for less than the play might have cost you.

Just looked at my club royale offers.  There is a new one listed called the 2019 Valentine's Day Offer.  Does anyone know which ship and sailing date?

My offer - Feb,. 9 Brilliance 5 night western or  Feb. 10 Jewel 5 night western.I suggest you call Club Royale to verify what your offer is.

Could you please give me the name of the site?  I had it once, failed to bookmark it, threw away my handwritten notes, and now can't get back in to see my offers.  Thanks!

  • 2 weeks later...

I received a snail mail offer for two Valentine's Day sailings, both offering complimentary balcony cabins.  Either a 5 night Brilliance departing February 9th or a 5 night Jewel departing February 10th.  Unfortunately we are on the Serenade and return on the 11th. :classic_angry:

On my CR offers page it also says that promotion has an alternate value of $1,000 so I will call and see if I can use it against other future bookings.

I’ve been on Anthem twice from the same type previous offers.

I've only seen one on Anthem for my last 12-15 offers. (Which I took advantage of on my 10/27/18 cruise)

There are a few Anthem cruises on the free cruise certificates you get on each sailings, but I haven't seen a mail offer for Anthem in a very long time.

I agree.  On the most recent certificate I received there are three Anthem sailings.  They are in January, September and November 2019.

Got the same offers for the football game. We leave tomorrow for the Cuba cruise and pats game.

I hope the seats are better this year.  We did the pats game last year.  It was Monday Night Football and the seats were the last 2 rows of the stadium.  I did not go on any of the football cruises this year for that reason.  Please report back and tell me where the seats were.  Thanks!!
