An interesting finding we have in the evaluation of search queries in cruisetricks.de just won, many have problems with the correct spelling of " Celebrity silhouette . And I admit, I occasionally stumble over the word. In this case, English and German spelling of "Silhouette" exception, identical. And also the spelling reform has, surprisingly, made no change in the silhouette - even though at this difficult word might be appropriate. Finally, you have even the relatively simple to write the dolphin ph "stolen" ...

We evaluate on a regular basis from cruisetricks.de (completely anonymous, of course), after which terms our readers looking for and if they also will find what they would like to read. The Celebrity silhouette, in July baptized in Hamburg is seems to many to care now, and of course you can already on Celebrity Cruises Book silhouette . Only the spelling has probably still remember.

The most popular misspelling is the way "Celebrity Silouette" followed by occasional "Celebrity Silouet", "Celebrity Silhouete" or "Celebrity Sillouete. Tragically, the word looks even more strange, the longer one stares at it - even in the correct spelling. To rise to confusion can not: correct CELEBRITY SILHOUETTE . We look forward to the christening in Hamburg

I think Google Chrome needs to work on their translation program... ;) :D

Celebrity Cruises will officially christen its newest Solstice Class ship, Celebrity Silhouette, this July in Hamburg Germany. It marks the first time in the line's history that a ship is being officially named outside of the U.S. Or the UK.

After being formally introduced as the fourth of five planned Solstice ships, the 2,886 passenger Silhouette will have her inaugural cruise on July 23, 2011; a seven-night voyage to Rome. Silhouette will spend the summer and fall doing 12 and 13-night Holy Land sailings round trip from Rome. In November she'll become the first Solstice Class ship to offer cruises from Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey.

While there are many similarities between the four Solstice ships, Silhouette will introduce several unique outlets that further enhance the Solstice guest experience. Passengers can look forward to:

The Lawn Club Grill: Located on the top deck as part of Solstice’s signature grassy lawn, The Lawn Club Grill will offer al fresco dining at the industry's first outdoor, interactive grill restaurant.

The Porch: Also located in the lawn area of the top deck, this casual dining venue will offer complimentary breakfast and lunch.

The Art Studio: Today's cruisers want to pack their vacation full of interactive, immersive experiences and to that end Celebrity has created the Art Studio. Located within the Lawn Club, guests can take classes in everything from drawing, painting and beading to culinary and mixology courses.

The Alcoves: Private cabanas are the rage at resorts and Celebrity brings the trend to sea with eight cabanas in the Lawn Club area that can hold two to four guests.

The Hideaway: Imagine a high-tech tree house and you've got The Hideaway. The area gives guests the chance to get away, but stay connected with WiFi. The perfect outlet for the Type A vacationer!

A fellow cruiser on our Silhouette, Oct. 22 Roll Call (thank you Machmack) posted a link to an article in the Wall Street Journal re:cruising with specific mention of X and the new Silhouette. I am happy to see the article included an architects drawing of the "new" lawn club.

And the new Solstice Class ships from Celebrity Cruises include an unexpected plot of terra firma in its Lawn Club, an expanse of real grass on the top deck where guests can practice golf putting, play games like croquet or throw down a beach towel for a picnic. Celebrity Silhouette, launching in July, will expand on the concept with hammocks and a grill guests can use to prepare their own dinner alongside a ship chef.

Hello to bhughey and all the others also going! Can't wait.

Cruise ship includes popular features for travelers

The Silhouette promises the best of Celebrity’s highly popular Solstice Class of ships. For instance, cruisers will find the iLoungeSM computer center and Apple Store, an open-air Lawn Club that features a half-acre of fresh-cut grass on which to play games. That’s nothing to sneeze at, unless you suffer from allergies. In you cabin, the views should be terrific as the ship features veranda views from 85 percent of the staterooms.

I’m pretty handy at the grill, but I’m always eager to learn. Good thing, too, because at the Lawn Club Grill, guests can rub shoulders with Celebrity chefs and pick up some cooking tips. They also can take in pizza-making demonstrations, which will likely lead to pizza-eating demonstrations. Passengers can go on a unique culinary adventure in QsineSM or chill at the frosty Martini Bar & Crush. There’s even an iPad® Art Tour of the ship’s art collection, which is pretty cool, I suppose, if you own an iPad.

Speaking of art, the ship features art presentations as well as creative classes, so you can brush up on your brush strokes.

Pros and Cons

Pros: On the interactive TV system, you can book shore excursions and spa services, watch on-demand entertainment, preview menus, purchase photos, and place room service orders. AquaClass, an all-new category catering to spa lovers, has its own "secret" staircase leading to the spa, just one deck above. A restaurant Hospitality Director, in charge of overseeing reservations for all specialty dining, ensures that all requests are handled efficiently.

Cons: Closet space is skimpy in standard accommodations, and there are no self-service laundries. Although dining choices are plentiful, the specialty options will take a chunk from your wallet. The jury is still out on whether the real grass planted for the Lawn Club will survive saltwater spray and other adverse weather conditions.

Lisa also revealed new features to be introduced on Celebrity Silhouette - the fourth ship in the Solstice class - which is to be launched in July.

In an effort to increase use of the grass area on Deck 11, the glass-blowing display is to be replaced by a new Lawn Club Grill restaurant and Porch cafe, and a number of "alcoves" offering semi-private seating and lounging - for a fee - will be installed.

Inside, the clubby Michael's Club bar is to be re-vamped. Out go the wood-panelled walls and leather armchairs and in comes a much lighter, brighter look and a selection of about 50 designer beers from around the world.

Reflection, the fifth and final ship in the series, is to get a whole extra deck of cabins and suites, and passenger facilities will be beefed up to match, with an additional 245 sun loungers, 45 extra seats in the theatre, 118 more covers in the Oceanview Cafe, 40 in the main restaurant, and 24 each in Blu and the Tuscan Grille steakhouse.

Celebrity Cruises is going all high-tech with its new ships, Celebrity Silhouette in 2011 and Celebrity Reflection in 2012.

Guests will have to work out how to use iPad menus in its restaurants, plus touch-screen wine lists, interactive dinner menus and cocktail lists.

Less technically savvy guests might prefer the new Champagne Royal Tea experience, a luxury white-glove tea service, with Tea Forte loose teas served in custom made Wedgwood Bone China.

Other new developments include new dining areas and an art studio where guests can enjoy interactive classes.

The cruise line said the new initiatives will initially be available on these new ships but will gradually be rolled out to the rest of the fleet.
