Not sure how the rotation thing works, so is Cpt Henrik or Cpt Nielsen on there at the moment ?

 

I dunno...I never heard which one said they were bringing her out. Is Ovation in service yet? What day did she start her freebie short cruises

She had her maiden voyage last week, we are sailing on her in 3 days time.

 

Cpt Henrik was the captain on my first cruise on the Independence a couple of years back, so just wondered.

I agree! Just off the Allure today for the first time. We didn't like the ship at all. No quiet spaces to escape the constant noise. Very sad that Capt. Holmes is now her Master instead of the Freedom. He's one of our favorites!

Captain Henrick Loy was master for the 3 day "pre inaugural" and the inaugural cruises.

The 2 captains rotate 10 weeks on 10 weeks off (APPROXIMATELY).

 

Judging by that date, he should be Off by then as it will be over 10 weeks. However, there are a lot of captains moving around right now, therefore many Captains are extending their contracts to cover the Captain that is coming or leaving for another ship so the rotations have been anything but normal lately.

I would use the day of handover as starting date. That was April 8. Before that date the ship was driven by Meyer Yard Captain including the river Ems passage. Since April 8 Captain Henrik is in charge.

I just want to though some praise at Capt Aris Medina from Navigator last week. He seems like such a gentleman with no ego issues and had excellent noon time anouncements as well as anouncements just before departing ports of call.

 

I haven't been as impressed with a captain since Capt. Stig Nilsen when we sailed with him on Serenade years ago.

Any word on Anthem's captain?

Captain Henrik Loft Sørensen, who started the rotation on March 4, 2016 will be the rotating Captain on Anthem with Captain Anders Ingebrigtsen.

 

Captain Henrik is still on board, but hopes to be leaving for vacation shortly but will return in August.

Her maiden voyage was April 14 2016 - inaugural cruise, 3-night to Holland from Southampton.

 

I'll get back to you with the Captain.

 

Just got back from the Ovation, and can confirm that Captain Henrik Loy is the current captain on a 10-week rotation. He will be on board until the ship reaches Dubai.
