Is it considered a 'promotion' if a Captain is on, for instance, a Freedom Class then is moved on to an Oasis Class? Do they request the moves? Is being moved to a larger ship something a Captain strives for, or isn't it relevant?

Do bigger ship Captains get paid more?

Correct....Johnny is coming back to Harmony of the Seas soon (later this month) after his vacation.

I don't know if it is considered a promotion, but Captains at RCI get the same pay, regardless of which class of ship they are on. Some request the moves, and some are moved there because of previous experience, or need. So I'm told.
