My plan today is to do a few things in Cape Canaveral. I will be heading over to Kennedy Space Center, and I would like to visit Manatee Park and see a few Manatees while there. I will try to get over to Jetty Park, at the Inlet to Cape Canaveral, and maybe head down to Cocoa Beach if time allows. I plan on returning to the ship by around 6 so I can take advantage of a very fast internet connection while docked at the pier.

RADIO!

Love, Love, Love your "Live" reports from Enchantment! My family will be onboard doing the same itinerary on March 10th and I am very, very, VERY curious where you are going to see manatees!!!!! I have been searching the internet and I have found a couple of places but they're in Ft Pierce (90miles) and in Ft Myers....etc... Where are you going to see manatees!?!?!? Enquiring minds want to know!

Thank you so much! I hope you are having a wonderful trip!

Samantha :D

PS-- If you feel like some detective work, could you find out of the outside "F" cabins #7006, #7008, #7010, #7012 (Port all the way forward) were converted during the stretch from crew or navigation space and are "new"? We've been told two different stories. In the end, it doesn't really matter. Just curious. Cruising is cruising (and any cruise is wonderful!...this is just our first time cruising as a trio! :)

Hello everyone. . . I got off of the Ship today at about 11:30 for my rental pick up at Budget at noon. They picked us up in front of the ship. I went over to Kennedy Space Center, which is only a few miles away.

The attractions change often there, and I am happy to hear that the Space Shuttle Atlantis exhibition is under construction now.It will be done in 2013. I spent about 3 hours there, and enjoyed every minute. There is a lot of walking to do, so wear something comfortable.

I went also over to Canaveral Locks which is the largest navigational locks in Florida. I have often viewed Manatees, and dolphins roaming around in the warm water of the locks. There wasn’t much traffic today, but the lock keeper has suggested that most marine traffic is in the mornings. . .

I feel like I could write for hours about my day in Cape Canaveral, but it has been a long day, and maybe my brain will feel better tomorrow. . .(or maybe I just need more Starbucks)

Here are a few pics form today. . . Thanks for all of the nice comments !

The Manatee Park is owned by the City of Cape Canaveral, and I have visited there often, and have only seen a few Manatees. I have seen several Manatees at Canaveral Locks or even in the port harbor right from the cruise Ship. . . They come out when they want to . . . Good luck. Thanks for the nice comments. . .;)
