Discuss Implementation of Smoking Policy

I have reservations on the Ruby next Spring, and realize I need to advise my daughter on where to smoke her cigarettes.  I know the Speakeasy Cigar Lounge, but where can she smoke cigs outside? I can't find my answer on this thread, although certainly I have not read all 48 pages.

Try doing a Google search for Ruby Princess Smoking Policy. That should give you an answer quicker than asking here or searching all 48 pages.

@CruzbwI sailed Ruby in November and Speakeasy was closed due to CDC covid guidelines.  There’s smoking on deck 16 port side by tradewinds bar. Lots of tables and chairs.

Smoking areas are changing quickly. It appears right now no indoor smoking with the cigar lounge closed and casino slot smoking no longer allowed. 

Outdoors. Small section of the promenade deck starboard side aft just before the promenade goes around the ship's stern. Area by the forward bar on the deck above the main Lido pool. Possibly an area aft a few decks above the Terrace pool. No smoking in any cabin or on any balcony.

I can't stand the smell of either.  I used to like pipe smoke if it was a good tobacco.  Cigar smoke literally makes me nauseous and cigarette smoke gives me migraines.  I however do believe smokers have rights, but not the right to infringe on my health.  We are Elite with both Princess and Celebrity but I must admit, I love those non smoking casinos on Celebrity.  Doesn't look they lost any revenue by doing it since their cruises are usually sold out.

There has been no smoking on the enchanted anywhere inside since we boarded on the 19th. We love the casino now.

Interesting. I read the new edition of Health Protocol FAQ. It clearly states that smoking will not be permitted in th Casino. However, no where does it state that there will be no smoking in Churchill's.

I believe anyone currently onboard any of the ships with Churchills or Shooters will confirm there’s no indoor smoking right now.

Smoking is back on the Sky Princess.  Not sure about the other ships.  This was from yesterday's Patter that someone posted on another forum.

BOOOO from this corner.   Only in regards to the Casino part.

 

However, I do note that the Casino must be open if there is to be smoking and at designated machines for GAMING guests.  But, I am not holding my breath expecting the enforcement.

Completely agree with you.  I was hoping the casino would stay non smoking.  It will be interesting to see how soon the Princess website will be updated to include the new policy.  It still shows no smoking allowed in the casino and also that masks are REQUIRED there.

Website updates tend to be made on weekdays. I would hope for an update tomorrow

We are on the Emerald and there has been no change to the smoking policy. I have no problem with Princess having a bar or two designated for smoking but making the casino a smoking area is a very bad idea

There should be zero smoking indoors.  Not happy to see suggestion to open up some bars for smoking.  Fuhgeddaboudit.

I agree with you but if Princess is determined to allow smoking indoors they should at least create a space for it that is more suitable than the casino. I think a lot of the ships had some sort of cigar bar

No cigar bars in any open area. Besides the proven second hand health hazard cigars and pipes have a very unpleasant smell that lingers in the air and penetrates into surrounding furnishings. Difficult enough to pass by the doors of the cigar lounges now.
