sail7seas Posted July 28, 2012 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2012 Could be fun and helpful. If someone sees a country on your list where they have plans to visit, might be good to see there is someone who might have the answer to their particular question. :) For those who have traveled a fair amount, it's harder than it seems to remember all the countries especially if you only spent a half a day in port while on a cruise. ;)
cruisinjudy Posted July 28, 2012 #2 Share Posted July 28, 2012 Yes I would have trouble. Mexico Canada Puerto Rico Costa Rica England Ireland Netherlands Belgium Italy France Spain Tahiti Bora Bora Caymen Islands Portugal Republic of Kiribati Other Islands I would have to think about as to what country they are. 2bout2c Posted July 29, 2012 #3 Share Posted July 29, 2012 It would take time to list them all. I keep a copy of the Travelers Century List and mark off countries as I visit. So far the total is all 7 continents and 142 different countries. I sure no one wants the complete list.

SwissMyst Posted July 29, 2012 #6 Share Posted July 29, 2012 Don't know how many countries just from HAL ships, but I did hit my 100th country on a ship - Mauritius, and finally became a member of the Travel Century Club. I stopped counting after that, but am still finding more cruises to new countries so it is still adding up. We are now looking at the Prinsendam into the Black Sea for Sept 2013 and that will be good for yet another handful of new countries too.
sail7seas Posted July 29, 2012 Author #7 Share Posted July 29, 2012 Not all countries that we've visited but all we've visited on HAL ships: USA, Mexico, Canada, Panama, Columbia, Bermuda, Venezuela, Aruba, Barbados, Bonaire, Curacao, Hondorus, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, St. Maarten, St. Martin, Bahamas, Costa Rica, France, Great Britain, Portugal, Spain, Algeria, Italy, Greece, Israel, Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Guatamala, Guadaloupe, Gibraltar, Grand Turk, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, Martinique, Grenada, St. Barts, Dominica, Antigua...... That's all I can think of now. :o

localady Posted July 29, 2012 #9 Share Posted July 29, 2012 So far, I have been to 31 countries on a HAL cruise ship, no where near the Century club, but it's a really great start! :D

Rare rafinmd Posted July 29, 2012 #11 Share Posted July 29, 2012 Total of about 60 countries, roughly 45 by ship. For HAL, more than I'd have guessed: US Canada Ireland Netherlands (HAL only) UK Ireland Demmark (possession) Iceland Norway(HAL only) Singapore Thailand Cambodia (HAL only) Vietnam (HAL only) China Hong Kong (HAL only) or is this considered China Next up on HAL Brazil(HAL Only) Aruba Barbados Roy Jacqui, have you not been to Canada on a HAL ship? bra1nchild Posted July 29, 2012 #12 Share Posted July 29, 2012 Six continents and 64 countries so far on HAL with more coming this winter. We did Antarctica on Orient's Marco Polo.
catl331 Posted July 29, 2012 #13 Share Posted July 29, 2012 It gets a little tricky on what you count as a country because Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, and Sint Maarten are all part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and Saint Martin and Martinique are both France. I see one person listed Puerto Rico as a country. The Canary Islands belong to Spain. I'll just say 35 to 40 depending on how strict you are on defining what is a country. RuthC Posted July 29, 2012 #14 Share Posted July 29, 2012 Extraordinary timing, Sail! I just made a list the other day. I've been to all seven continents, and sailed all seven seas, on HAL ships. Those trips have brought me to 63 countries (so far). That's too many to list, but it's some of the popular countries, as well as some pretty remote ones, too. sail7seas Posted July 29, 2012 Author #15 Share Posted July 29, 2012 It's fun reading everyone's lists and/or comments. I realized I forgot to list Monaco. Wouldn't want to leave out Monte Carlo. :) Some impressive numbers!!! We're a well traveled group.
arzz Posted July 29, 2012 #16 Share Posted July 29, 2012 OK -- I have been challenged -- on a quick count (I still have to verify it) HAL has brought us to 55 of the 70 countries we have visited (so far) .... Still counting and still traveling. I am not, however, going to type a list as I am currently using my iPad. Too hard to type well on the electronic keyboard. Oops -- editing to say 56 out of 71 .... And possibly still counting Oops again -- 57 out of 73 ....
Lisa63 Posted July 29, 2012 #17 Share Posted July 29, 2012 Too many to list, yet I've had the general regions listed in my signature in case someone had any questions. (And, I have received a few over the years.) Not all of these were on HAL ships -- those were Canada/New England, Alaska, and British Isles: United States (Maasdam, Ryndam, Westerdam) Canada (Maasdam, Ryndam) England (Prinsendam) Scotland (Prinsendam) Wales (Prinsendam) Northern Ireland (Prinsendam) Ireland (Prinsendam) Channel Islands -- a British Crown Dependency (Prinsendam)
Typhoon1 Posted July 29, 2012 #18 Share Posted July 29, 2012 If I took time to go through all my cruise logs I could come up with a number. At any rate, I stopped counting long ago.
Harley57 Posted July 29, 2012 #19 Share Posted July 29, 2012 Six countries on HAL on our recent fabulous Eurodam cruise Denmark Estonia Russia Finland Sweden Germany I have been fortunate to visit 31 countries total in my travels and hope to continue to add to that number:)

Krazy Kruizers Posted July 29, 2012 #21 Share Posted July 29, 2012 I have never made a list of all the countries that we have visited just on HAL ships. And seriously -- don't have time to research either.

496and706 Posted July 29, 2012 #23 Share Posted July 29, 2012 I've been to Vatican City and Monaco. Both are very beautiful. Too bad I can't say I've been to Cuba on a cruise ship. They do have a cruise ship terminal waiting for the time when they start to get some cruise ships other than their own. (They have 2 small ones) Dh and I have been to Cuba more than 50 times. So- HAL cruises have taken me to... Italy, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Turkey, Monaco, Tunisia, U.S., Canada (Can you really visit your own country?) RuthC Posted July 29, 2012 #24 Share Posted July 29, 2012 ... Canada (Can you really visit your own country?) Sure ya can! Especially when it's a big country like Canada. From the Maritimes to British Columbia covers a lot of variety.
Rare whogo Posted July 29, 2012 #25 Share Posted July 29, 2012 On Hal Cruises I come up with 32 using the Travelers' Century Club definition of country: England Scotland Guernsey Ireland Isle of Man Iceland Faroe Islands Denmark Bahamas British Virgin Islands US Virgin Islands USA Guatemala Belize Honduras Mexico Cayman Islands Jamaica Aruba Bonaire Curacao Panama Costa Rica Italy Monaco Spain Canary Islands Chile Argentina Falkland Islands Uruguay Brazil http://travelerscenturyclub.org/
