LIVE from the Vision of the Seas Sailing 5 Oct 2012

Recommended Posts

The locks are a technological marvel but sailing slowly through Gatun Lake is really something.

The US set up the watershed as a preserve and Panama has continued it.

As you pass the hundreds of small islands (former mountain tops) you can hear the birds singing and all sorts of other sounds.

We went down to Deck 5 and walked the Promenade back to the stern for the "worm's eye view" of the locks.

Great pics by the way. Loving your report. Safe travels back.

Thanks for all you are doing.

You guys missed being in the Caribbean during Sandy, now that was an experience, but the captain and his excellent skills managed to get the Freedom home safely. But let me say, we were rocking and rolling, you could not walk.

It has been a lazy day for us here in Cartagena.

We did not go on an excursion but did go ashore to the terminal that had free WiFi, a nice low key shopping area, two eateries, and a Flamingo Farm.

Neither of us had ever seen live Flamingos before and they were fun to watch.

I had guessed that with the ship sitting still at the pier I would have good internet service but I am unable to upload photos to Photobucket.

I will try again later...

Now the end is in sight I am beginning to realize how much I will miss your daily posts and pictures. (at least till the next cruise, which will be when??)

Anyway Jim & Judith, I feel you are old friends.

Please give some thought to my suggestion with respect to a blog concerning your new home. We would love to follow that. Your puppies will freak when they get out there, it will be so good for them. And good for you too.

Enjoy the next couple of sea days, and again thanks so much for the time and $ you spend taking us along with you. I for one, and I know I'm not alone, have loved every minute.
