Complimentary Espresso and Cappuccino

There were reports of a charge for specialty coffees in the dining room just around that time. I was on the Veendam in January, and there was no charge. There also haven't been any reports of a charge since that initial flurry.

I suspect the charge was quickly reversed after the hew & cry that was posted here.

Likewise, on the Zaandam in January, there was no charge. I specifically asked the waiter, and he said "not yet" :( but he was certainly aware they were charging on other ships. No further information was offered.

On our Zaandam voyage in January, there was some confusion about this. At our first meal in the MDR, we were told that there was a charge for capuccino. When we asked to steward to check to be sure, he came back and said it would be free. It appeared to be an aborted attempt to start charging, but apparently it didn't pan out.

Does anyone know the current policy for the Oosterdam?

It the Noordam and the Nieuw Amsterdam had charges I would be dollars to donuts that this ship does too;)

Westerdam didn't charge it when we were aboard with you, Jacqui.

DH had espresso several nights in MDR and was not charged.

true Sail, but that was in November - the charges being reported are in a timeline well after the date that we sailed;) (at least from what I have seen)

edited to say - the charges being reported seem to be very recent.

Just back from ms Rotterdam.

Espresso and capuccino were still free after diner.

But on 3 evenings we were told the machine wasnot working.

It seems there was just this one machine on board.

Sailed the Eurodam 2/16 and was discouraged to see that coffees were an extra charge!

ALL coffee was extra charge or espesso and cappaccino?

They weren't charging for a regular cup of coffee or decaf, were they?

I have been on 3 HAL cruises (the last being on the Ryndam in December 2012) and the espresso and cappuccino has been complimentary in the MDR. Has this policy changed?

Reporting from the Rotterdam - DH had a complimentary double espresso every night in the MDR.

The picture that I posted of a dinner menu shows that cappuccino and espresso was extra, regular coffee and tea had no charge,

Just the specialty coffees... Last winter they were free in the MDR, not so this year.
