Diamond Plus Bonus Gift question

Recommended Posts

Is the Diamond Plus Bonus Gift offered for every RCI cruise for Diamond Plus guests?

We don't sail Royal too often, but I see both the Gift Preference and Bonus Gift Preference selections in the Crown and Anchor section when I log in.

Thanks

Your question is not quite clear to me, but I will answer what I *think* you are asking.

If you are diamond plus, you have your choice from the pull-down amenities list on each cruise that you take.

If you have more than 349 points, you have two choices from the list on each cruise.

I guess the answer might be "no" if your sailing is one of the exceptional categories....

To quote:

Bonus gift of your choice will be chosen from a pre-selected list for each stateroom. No bonus gift will be delivered on sailings less than 3-Nights. Only one bonus gift will be delivered on sailings between 3- and 6- Nights. All orders need to be placed up to 5 days before a US based sailing and 7 days for an internationally based sailing. If no selections are made before the time prescribed above, then no order will be placed. Orders and/or substitutions cannot be placed on or after boarding day. All Diamond Plus members can go into the secure Crown & Anchor section of the website and select your preferences and keep them up to date; or, Diamond Plus members and their travel agents can contact a Loyalty Specialist within 14 days of their departure to select an amenity and arrange timing for delivery to either their stateroom or dining room by calling (800) 526-9723 and pressing 9 at any time during the greeting message. Hours of operation: Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 11 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. (ET).

Yes, that's correct. What Merion Mom was explaining was that at higher point levels, you get more gifts:

175 points: 1 gift

350 points: 2 gifts

525 points: 3 gifts

Plus, the list of gifts expands as the point level increases.

The only exception to this is on cruises of less than 7 days, you only get one gift no matter your point level.

You always explain things clearly Bob. So I'll choose my 1 Gift Preference and my 1 Bonus Gift Preference.

Thanks

Hi: I am D+ and have been getting my bonus amenity when sailing by myself (or with someone else who is not yet D+) For the first time I will be sailing with a friend who is also D+ and used to getting their own bonus amenity. Will each of us still get our own bonus amenity when we sail together? We are NOT in the same household (which sometimes seems to make a difference?). I am sure this must have been asked/answered before but I can't find anything. Thanks for you help.

Confused cruiser.

Yes, you will each get your own amenity. Only when two people who are linked (via Crown & Anchor) to each other, and are booked in the same stateroom do they give one amenity.

We have finally made it to D+! Our first sailing at this level will be our B2B on Legend. From what I understand, DH and myself will be sailing, and we will get our diamond gift each, PLUS we will each get a bonus gift. We currently have 176 C&A. points.

I'd like them to also offer a 12 pack of bottled water. One of the gifts they offer is 4 bottles of Pellegrino sparkling water, but we could use the non-sparkling stuff more.

Well Bob, what is your answer to that please?: Currently at 346 points. Next cruises are b2b each 7 days. So during the first leg we reach 350, but it is too late to choose the 2nd amenity online (their regulations say 5 days before departure to be submitted online) for the second , qualifying leg. Besides- I guess RCCL website will take some 1-2 weeks to be updated , showing our > 350 points.

You're correct, it will take too long to get your 2nd amenity via normal channels. However, it would not hurt to have a chat with the LA, talk about the milestone (crystal block) you should be getting, and ask about the 2nd amenity. I don't know what will come of it, but maybe they will send you a bottle of wine.

So we get another crystal ship for 350? We reach that on Majesty this next weekend. So will we get our crystal ship on the cruise?

Yes, at the risk of starting another thread on exactly when points are earned, you should get a crystal block on the cruise that earns the points that takes you to the milestone. I suggest you mention this to the LA to confirm you are on the list of block recipients.

Although you are probably right Bob, it seems a bit unfair if in fact both parties rightfully earned their Diamond Plus status.

That means when traveling with our teens, hubby and I must be assigned to different staterooms to get what was truly earned. I guess it's just a matter of names on staterooms and we'll just physically be in the same room while our teen/22 yr old will be in the other stateroom. Just do not like having to manipulate the system to get what one should get in the first place.

A girl's got to do what a girl's got to do ~ :o

I would be grateful for anything you get from C&A as any perk can be discontinued at any time.:) The D+ amenity is geared for those that enjoy wine. Unfortunately not all of us drink wine and there aren't many other things to select from.

Because you both live at the same address and are married, you get one D+ amenity per stateroom at 175 points. You will get 2 at 350 points and 3 at 525 points.

I plan to stop at the Loyalty desk and ask while we are on the ship. I know we got the ship on the cruise when we hit our last milestone.
