Favorite Royal Caribbean Ship

Recommended Posts

Oasis of the Seas! Best entertainment in the entire fleet, if not the entire cruise industry. Hairspray the Musical, 2 Ice shows, 2 High Dive/Synchronized Swimming Shows, Comedy Clubs, and and acrobatic musical Come Fly with Me! The dining options are endless. Plus, all of the unique spaces like Central Park, Boardwalk, and the Sports deck! I promise that no matter what you read the ship is never crowded, never! You will have a wonderful cruise!

Strange thing is after eleven cruises, the first one holds a special place in our hearts, and it was the old Monarch! we loved it until:) the end!

Not strange. Our favorite Royal so far has been the Empress of the Seas. She was the absolute perfect ship for short cruises. I wish that Royal still had smaller ships like Empress on certain markets.

Ask a dozen people and you may well get a dozen different answers. This is a very personal and subjective topic. I suggest you start by looking at itinerary, ports, price range, cabin requirements, departure port, etc. and have a few choices in mind. A cruise specialist in your local area can help you with this. :)

As you can see from our cruise history we enjoy the Radiance class ships the most. We love them all and never have had really bad experiences on any of the ships. We find on the Radiance class ship you get to know everyone better on a personal level. Guests and staff, they see to remember you better and get to know you better.

Happy Sailing

Radiance class is our favorite. And Jewel in particular. It's the most beautiful ship we ever sailed on. That class of ship is the perfect size and layout for us. It does not have the royal promenade, or bells 'n whistles that we don't particularly care about.

It all depends on what you looking for. Monarch was my first cruise and for that reason, and her wonderful crew , will always be special to me.

For variety and amount of entertainment, Oasis and Allure are tops. For sheer beauty, Vision is wonderful, but she is going or a redo and may look different.

I think the Vision class would be a great intro to cruising: plenty to do, yet not intimidating in size very easy to get around.

Whatever to choose, you are sure to have a good time.:)

I like a ship with a Royal Promenade. I get up VERY EARLY in the morning to enjoy the quiet of the ship, and the Promenade Café meets my needs to get me started.:)

That said, I can be happy on any ship.

Happy sails.

I love the Radiance class. The Serenade is the ship that holds a special place in my heart.

I love the glass everywhere, and the more intimate feeling of the ship. I don't care for the promenade too much. I prefer relaxing in a smaller lounge, listening to some live music.

For me it's Freedom class first Oasis class second and the Voyager class third. I really wanted to like the Radiance class but never could get into the layout. Sailed Monarch many times so I have fond memories if it but it will never make the top 5 or 6 ships. And of the three Freedom class ships it's Freedom, Independence then Liberty.

DW and I both agree the Radiance of the Seas is our favorite ship. It's a beautiful ship, lots of glass so you can view the sea from so many vantage points around the ship. It's easy to navigate and find your way around.

We especially enjoyed the Concierge Lounge with it glass floor to ceiling windows where we could sit and sip the free specialty coffee while gazing at the breath taking scenery.

To me, my favorite class.......is Radiance, and the ship is the Jewel of the Seas. She was new, and pristine, and just had the look and feel..........of being able to watch the sea.......see the sea?! For those that have sailed the Radiance Class........especially for TransAtlantic, or TransPacific crossings.......you know what I'm talking about.

Favorite ship.........the first one that we sailed on with RCCL.......the Legend of the Seas. We had an ocean view cabin booked..........but for $700.00, at the dock, we could move from our cabin to an Owners Suite...........for 14 nights.

Those were wonderful times! Not sure when we may cruise again, but I enjoy reading, lurking, and once in a while, contributing.

This is a GREAT topic.........thanks OP for starting it!!:)

I like all that I have been on. From the smallest, Majesty (Madge) which is a great weekend getaway, and a nice way to recharge, to Oasis with the amazing shows and activities. We've also been on Freedom, Liberty, and Navigator and have always had a great time. The larger ships have lots more to offer, but I can't really find any faults with Majesty for a shorter cruise.

Each cruise ship that I have been on is special to me. There are areas of a particular ship that I like, that I don't find on other ships.

As an example, on the Radiance class - I loved the open seating in the Windjammer and all of the windows in the bar area - Schooner Cove, Safari Lounge, etc., and the glass elevators. I did not care for the lay out of the shops, always crowded because you had to walk through them to get from one place to another.

On the Explorer, I enjoyed the openness of the Promenade, and the fact that evening snacks were more available. It was also a little more open, and felt less crowded on the pool deck. I did miss the open air seating of the Windjammer.

If I had to pick a favorite, I would say the Oasis class. I loved the Promenade, the various shows, and the Solarium, the walking/jogging track, as well as the assortment of food venues. There are many hidden, private areas for ocean viewing.
