Merion_Mom Posted November 19, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 19, 2013 Suave, sophisticated, hunger-inducing.............not sure that it's aimed at what now seems to be their primary customer pool: active families.
Thetrail Posted November 19, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 19, 2013 Keith And looks like it covers all demographics from young to more "experienced" folks....K.O....:)
Clarea Posted November 19, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 19, 2013 I liked it much better than the "The Nation of Why Not". :)

At Sea 4Ever Posted November 19, 2013 #7 Share Posted November 19, 2013 All there commercials get me excited! It's more sophisticated than past ones. My favorite was always the GET OUT THERE!

MAHA Posted November 19, 2013 #11 Share Posted November 19, 2013 Definately glad they got rid of the Nation of Why Not. Like this new commercial and liked the shell phone ones much better.
Loyal2RCCL Posted November 19, 2013 #12 Share Posted November 19, 2013 I saw it last night on TV for the first time and I liked it. It's about time they came up with a good commercial after the flops that were Nation of Why Not and Shell Phone.

cruisenfever Posted November 19, 2013 #15 Share Posted November 19, 2013 (edited) The new commercial covers it all with the sights and sounds.......and nobody talking!!:D Very well done. Edited November 19, 2013 by cruisenfever
reallyitsmema Posted November 19, 2013 #16 Share Posted November 19, 2013 So much better that the ones with people answering a shell phone, that one got old very quickly.
foxgoodrich Posted November 19, 2013 #17 Share Posted November 19, 2013 I like the new commercial too…also think it's much better than that Nation of Why Not nonsense! But my all time favorite RC commercial was that old one (6-7 or so years ago?) that played the old 70's tune, Iggy Pop's Lust for Life. That drumbeat made you look up and WATCH the commercial, and the music was great. (I think David Bowie wrote it?) That music just made me want to BOOK A CRUISE! Like RIGHT NOW.:p I suspect the reason they stopped using the Iggy Pop song is that, while the music itself and the beat and tempo of the music is just great, Iggy Pop's lyrics are pretty dreadful for a family oriented cruise line…all about drugs and booze and the hard driving life of a heroin addict. RC changed the lyrics in the old commercial, but I bet they still took some flack for using that song! Still…I miss it! It was effective - at least with me! - because ever since that old commercial, anytime I hear Lust for Life I think of cruising.;)
leinhto Posted November 19, 2013 #18 Share Posted November 19, 2013 (edited) I agree I like it better than the NAtion of Why Not, at the end though it said 'No one does the CARIBBEAN like Royal. I assume this was featuring mostly their Caribbean destinations, although much of the images could be on any other destiantion...still like it!! leaveitallbehind Posted November 19, 2013 #19 Share Posted November 19, 2013 Very good and a vast improvement over the "Shell" (which IMO was terrible) and "The Nation of Why Not".

Dave85 Posted November 19, 2013 #22 Share Posted November 19, 2013 I actually don't like it that much, too abstract for my taste. I with they were a little more focused on the ships themselves, rather than just a few quick glimpses as they are a cruise line...
Cruising89143 Posted November 19, 2013 #23 Share Posted November 19, 2013 Keep in mind that they have 30 seconds to get their point across. What I see on the commercial shows what sets RCI apart from the other lines. Ice Skating, Zip Line, Flowrider, Chicago, etc. Pretty smart idea. joand452 Posted November 19, 2013 #24 Share Posted November 19, 2013 Just makes me more anxious for our next cruise -- but even the new Carnival commercials (which seem to be playing constantly) do that too me. ...but not enough that I want to cruise on Carnival ;)
