Just back from the Westerdam

will get my review up asap but I'd better get going on Christmas prep right now....Very positive experience...well run ship, well maintained, excellent service.

Have no idea where the negative review came from but if not made up, that person had a very different experience from what our group had.

Entertainment was great. The singers and dancers and comedian were the best we'd ever seen on any ship.

I did catch a respiratory bug, but think it came from aspirating water into my lungs doing snuba in Grand Turk.

Anyone considering the Westerdam....don't hesitate to book based on anything negative posted here previously. We had an even better time than when we were on a few years past. Great itinerary!

Different person, different sailing date, different expectations; no reason to think the reviewer is a liar.

Won't bother to spend time going back and looking it up, but did you guys actually read the awful review someone who had posted only once or twice on CC put up here a few weeks ago?

Of course people can have very different expectations and experiences and I said that. That one review post a few weeks ago was immediately and justifiably pounced on by posters other than me.

Why was it justifiable? Unless those that pounced had the exact same cabin, stewards, mechanical breakdowns, etc all at the same time - they cannot doubt what others report. That was their experience and they reported it.

 

I promise not to pounce on your positive review.;)

I am really happy to read a great review on the Westerdam, because my hubby's family is planning an Alaskan cruise summer 2014, and the only cruise line we have been on is Carnival,( we need a change) with that said, I would love it if anyone who can tell me anything, and I really do mean anything about this ship, best cabins, food, shows ect. Just fill me in on any info you want to tell me. Thanks in advance.

Ii don't consider myself a cheerleader, but like another reviewer right before me, felt that way with this review. The Westerdam is a very well managed ship with an excellent crew. After our May cruise which was the opposite (on another line), I really appreciated the organization and how smoothly everything worked. Perhaps we don't notice as much when we are used to quality management, but one poorly run ship can make one really appreciate the well run ships of HAL.
