A 15 a day drink max on Signature Drink Package

Since it also tops out at $50, it won't take many alcoholic drinks, even with several non-alcoholic, to reach the limit.

Is it really only up to $50 a day? I'd read $50 here but thought it was referring to 2 different offerings. How can they call it unlimited when they cap it at $50? Odd

You may be right. Right now, I'm sort of confused with the various plans, programs, policies, and whatevers.

I know that's what I've read; I don't know that it's accurate. :o

We really won't know how it all works until we get more reports back from those on cruises with the plan, but not the $50 beverage card.

Spoke to HAL and found that it does not cap at $50 per day. It is 15 drinks max at $7.00 or less per person per day.

The promo material was confusing as it said "$50 per day value". Evidently they were referring to the cost of the Signature Beverage card if purchased.

This is from my confirmation email from HAL:

Your booking includes our Explore 4 offer:

- Signature Beverage Package (applicable to the cruise portion of Land + Sea

Journeys) for guests 1 and 2. Signature Beverage Package has a daily limit

of 15 beverages. Signature Beverage Package excludes beverages priced over

$7.00.

Thank you!! That pesky "$50 per day value" was so confusing. It's great to have heard from someone who took the effort to ask. That's a LOT of drinks. LOL

Some cruises (I believe Mexico and Caribbean) were offering only the $50 prepaid beverage card. I think that is where a lot of the confusion came from.

I see the new program is offering the Signature Beverage card for "select" Europe sailings

Hello!

We got the same message on the recent Explore4 promotion. My TA told me that guest 1 & 2 both get a $50 beverage card each (alcohol & non-alcoholic beverages) daily (or reloaded I guess) for a max limit of $100 / cabin / day.

Likewise, my daughter got the same deal booking an interior cabin, i.e. a $50 daily beverage card.

I viewed the beverage package deal on the HAL 'indulgences site' the other day and the cost for a 28 day cruise, in our case, would be approx.$1400 each, which breaks down to $50 cost / day per person for $50 / day for beverages per person. No big savings of any sort if I understand it right for this particular offering.

Also, the 15 max. drink per day is also interesting if based on one person. Now, assuming one individual could consume 15 drinks @ 6-12 ounces / drink which equals a total daily consumption of 90-180 oz equals approx. 3-6 liters / quarts of fluids / day.

I for one would certainly need to know that there would be no plumbing problems or closures of the the public restrooms.

From our Roll Call board I understand that the good folks from Australia, etc. are being offered an even higher purchase costs for the Signature Package. Perhaps the exchange rate causes this problemo (excuse my Spanish lingo).

I agree with the previous posting, the various HAL marketing offering & packages can indeed be confusing.

Thankfully, for us we'll be at sea soon and all will be well once again.

Bon Voyage & Good Health!

Bob

Totally agree - it's a bit confusing. What I don't like is the $7 limit - the wine choice as that price is pretty limited. I'd far prefer it was simply $50 a day - how I choose to spend it is my choice. I have no idea how anyone could do 15 drinks with limit unless they are drinking sodas and coffee ;)

The other question I have is that if the drink cost 7.95, are you stuck paying the 7.95 or do you just pay the 95 cents difference? It would make sense to pay the difference, but it would be silly to have to pay the full 7.95. I think on Celebrity you just pay the difference and they don't have a drink limit either. Not that I could drink 15 drinks a day, but the limit that's noted is kind of annoying.

I believe the package would cost $50 a day to purchase. However, you aren't purchasing $50 worth of drinks, you are purchasing the right to have up to 15 drinks a day that cost $7 or less. That totals $105 worth of drinks a day at maximum value per drink.

That's how I understand it, now, too. Yay!! Coffee in the morning and the daily drink special in the evening with a whole bunch of fun mixed in throughout the day LOL

You can only select bar menu items with a price of $7 or less. That covers all the signature cocktails and drinks of the day. If you want something over the $7 limit, you have to charge it to your room.

Whether the package makes sense for you depends on what you drink and how much you drink. RetiredMustang posted every beverage list from a pretty recent voyage. If can locate that thread, you will have a pretty good idea of what you can get.

For Celebrity there is no limit on the number of beverages, but cost depends on which drink package you have. If you have the "Classic" package, any drink over the max amount is charged in full. If you have the "Premium" package, you only pay the difference over $9.00.

I think that Celebrity has the absolute BEST drink package.:D

No, my understanding is that the promotion is for certain drinks only, and not a sort of tab that you can use to supplement any beverage that you want. In the case above, you would have to pay the entire $7.95 cost.

Does anyone have any concern that this latest promotion may result in a noticeable level of inebriation on the ships?

I just read this in the fine print and although I understand why they included it, 15 drinks a day max seems a little silly to have to include in the fine print.
Just pay separately for any drinks over the 15 drink maximum.

Yes. My hope is that most people use it to get what they ordinarily would - specialty coffees, some pop/juice, a couple of alcoholic drinks, and some wine with dinner - but it would be free. That's what I intend to do. Otherwise, I'll be going to those Friends of Bill W. sessions! Not to mention all the time spent in the bathroom!!!

We had the Signature Beverage Package on our last cruise and enjoyed it.

We would have a specialty coffee in the morning, perhaps a beer or two at lunch, a drink in the casino in the afternoon, a glass or two of wine at dinner, more drinks in the casino in the evening.

It worked for us and was good value.

Break even for us was 7 drinks a day.
