At this point, Regal Princess will have the same dining rooms and casual eateries as Royal Princess. Here is a list of those venues:

 

Main Dining Rooms/Unique Experiences

 

Dining Rooms – Allegro (aft on Deck 6, accessible only by aft stairs or aft elevators, houses the dramatic Chef’s Table Lumiere); Symphony and Concerto (located just off of the atrium on Deck 6 and Deck 5 respectively; both feature the Wine Makers Table, tables surrounded by wine cellars). All have been designed with an elegant and stylish décor, featuring a unique use of light.

 

Chef’s Table Lumiere - Known for creating the first-ever chef’s table experience at sea, Princess is now setting a new standard for this popular experience with the Chef’s Table Lumiere, located in the Allegro Dining Room. Offering a spectacular dining experience that takes the chef’s table to a new level, passengers sit at a custom-made glass table and are magically surrounded by a curtain of light – providing a soft wall of privacy that envelopes them as they enjoy the chef’s specially prepared meal.

These traditional spaces feature a new contemporary look that modernizes the rich club-like atmosphere of the Crown Grill and the nautical Wheelhouse Bar. With its signature theater-style open kitchen, the Crown Grill sets the stage for a menu of chops, seafood and premium Sterling Silver steaks. Meanwhile the Wheelhouse Bar offers a comfortable place to sip a drink and enjoy live piano entertainment. The location also features a free daily pub lunch.

The sit-down restaurant’s complimentary menu has been expanded to include a variety of Italian antipasti, soup and salads, a hearty calzone and pizza baguette, and delicious baked pastas in addition to desserts. With 121 seats, Alfredo’s is the largest such pizza restaurant at sea, and features an open kitchen where passengers can watch as chefs craft their pizza.

 

 

International Café

Location: Atrium Deck 5

 

The popular International Café serves up some new savory and sweet items including cupcakes, pies, and muffins to go with the café’s array of pastries, panini sandwiches, fresh-baked cookies and specialty coffees and teas. In addition, a new variety of hot sandwiches with international flavors debuts, including Cuban sandwiches and Mexican tortas. Vines wine and tapas bar serves a selection of exclusive new- and old-world vintage wines along with wine sampling, food pairing and unique events. In addition to the full wine and spirits bar, Vines serves up small plates to go with the wines, including Spanish tapas, Greek mezes, Venetian cicchetti, Latin American pinchos and Caribbean cutters. The bar offers an array of à la carte ocean treasures, including a flight of oyster shooters, fresh sushi and sashimi, ahi tuna poke, king crab cocktail, chili and lime crab margarita, a royal lobster dish, a chilled seafood sampler, and the world-renowned smoked Balik salmon, the salmon of the tsars.

A gelateria and creperie, Gelato offers delicious Italian-style ice cream creations – including designer sundaes, creamy fruit smoothies, and frosty shakes, plus sweet crespelle (Italian crepes) and delightful homemade waffle ice cream cones. Passengers can have their favorite flavors in a delicious waffle cone or ice cream sandwich. The extensive menu includes 20 toppings and sauces, including house-made hot fudge. Two fun specialty dining choices are housed within the Horizon Court – a Crab Shack and Fondues.

Location: Lido Deck in Horizon Court, port side all the way aft

 

Crab Shack – Seafood lovers will have a full crab shack experience, complete with mallets, bibs and buckets. Diners can enjoy crawfish in a Bayou-style “Mud Bug” boil, spiced peel and eat shrimp, or a mixed steamer pot filled with snow crab, jumbo shrimp, clams, and mussels. Cover charge: $20

Whiskey Flights at Wheelhouse Bar

Largest Collection of Super Tuscan Wines at Sea

Location: Deck 5, Sabatini's

 

More than 20 choices of these headline-making wines from Tuscany are available in Sabatini’s. Still no absolute confirmation from Princess Cruises that this will exist, although it was mentioned in another thread that during a recent Q&A session on Royal Princess the speaker said that the center stairwell would not be made available for passenger use. Guess we'll have to wait and see. It may be until the Maiden Voyage that we know for sure.

Your work on the Royal was a great resource. I followed the thread every day, right up to boarding for the maiden T/A. I am so happy to see that you have started the Regal thread.

 

We loved the Royal, and enjoyed the T/A so much that we are on the Regal's maiden crossing in October.

 

I wonder if the well documented soot problem will have an impact on the aft pool. I don't remember noticing any problems on that aft deck of the Royal, but we didn't spend much time there (too many smokers).

Like the guy who has a blog for the obstructed cabins that is so helpful. Do you know where pictures of cabins on different ships can be accessed? Like good inside cabins or certain cabins are larger than others, etc. Figure if anyone would know, it would be you.

When folks ask a question and I respond with one of my pictures, I've either gone back to the LIVE thread for my two weeks aboard Royal Princess, or the Flickr albums where I have them all downloaded. I have all of them memorized as to where they are in relation to the cruise, so it's relatively easy for me to hunt them down. No new news today on Regal Princess. I don't expect this thread to compete with the 'Everything' thread, and certainly don't expect it to remain on Page 1 of the forum. I'll definitely post anything that comes to light as soon as I find it.

 

But in the mean time if anyone sailing Regal Princess has questions about the ship, it's venues, or it's design feel free to ask. Quite a few of us have cruised Royal Princess and will be glad to help.

Somewhere I have seen the artist rendering of the Piazza area with the central staircase shown. I guess we are all looking to see actual interior photos of this area to confirm that they will be there on the Regal.

 

In addition, would love to see how they completed the Promenade Deck walkway around the forward section of the deck to form a loop instead of the dead end on both starboard and port areas of the deck on the Royal.

Regal Princess will NOT have a walk-around promenade deck. There was talk that the current open areas (the promenade deck 'porches') would be 'connected' by the areas behind the lifeboats which is currently restricted for crew use only. There will be no aft walkway around the stern, nor forward around the bow. If what they were taking about did happen, the only walkable areas would be along the length of the ship, and the port side will not connect to the starboard side.

Have you been on this class of ship yet? I was on Royal Princess for two weeks, even spent time relaxing on the aft promenade deck, and that exact same deck plan 'error' that shows some sort of aft connection simply does not exist. And it will also 'not exist' on Regal Princess.

David! I totally agree with the NO-pressure sailing on a "been there, done that" itinerary. I did that on the Royal and intend to do it on the Regal, but on the Regal I'll have my normal sailing partner with me, so it will be somewhat of a "show and tell" trip as well! :D

Yes, that's true. The speaker from corporate said no mid ship stairway for passengers and no Promenade deck as we know it due to the oversized lifeboats.

Were cruising on the Regal the week of Nov. 9th with the second bag of mixed nuts roll call group. It's will be a blast, wish you could join us. I'm also waiting patiently to see who Princess selects as the new godmother of the Regal. It will be interesting to find out. Again Dave, thanks for starting this thread.
