Has anyone ever booked a future Royal Caribbean Cruise while sailing on Celebrity? Can it be done?

Not lately, but we've done it in the past -- We're planing on booking a Royal cruise on the Eclipse in a couple of weeks! :)

Planning on doing just that while on the Equinox in a couple of weeks. That's one of the best things to do onboard. :D

Yes, you can book Royal Caribbean sailings while onboard Celebrity ships. The Future Cruise sales folks can assist you. Good luck !

Yes, not only can you book Royal Caribbean cruises, you can also book Azamara cruises as well. We have done both of these bookings onboard with no problem.

We've booked Celebrity while on RCI and vice versa with no trouble whatsoever. So unless they changed something they seem to be OK with that plan.

Actually, you can do it either way...the earlier the better...not as crowded. Just make sure of their hours.

Towards the end of the cruise, you often will need an appointment. They will likely fill up.

 

We're getting on the Eclipse a week from Saturday, the next day we'll be booking a RC cruise for 2015. :D

We were told we could switch the booking to Celebrity if we wanted to.

Royal is now based on category. The Celebrity onboard sales wasn't aware of this when we booked.

It depends on how you look at it. The benefit of booking an actual cruise seems to have increased but there seemed to be some discrepancy as to the benefits of the old future cruise certificate. I haven't checked lately to see if the early confusion has been alleviated.

The Royal perks - same as if you booking onboard an RCL ship.

OBC is generally the same or lower as I recall.

As mentioned, you certainly can book RCI when on X, perks that would normally be given when booking aboard will apply.:D

RCL next cruise certificates have changed from $100 obc to $25 obc for a 7 day cruise. We purchased one of the old certificates, too bad we didn't get more! Booking your specific next cruise is now the only significant savings. If I remember correctly, an 8 day or longer is $150 obc.
