Oasis 3/22-29/14, so, so writing, pretty good pictures, very pretty girls!

Don't forget to try the Cherry Crepes in the MDR for lunch. Oh so good. On the Allure March 2. Thanks for your sail away pics. The ship was late leaving so it was dark by the time we sailed. Also 5 hours late leaving Nassau on Monday.

Love the review of this Great Ship !!!!!

Just wondering if the massage was free why did it cost you $130.??? I will be having a free one on The Allure in a couple weeks and wondering if it's going to cost us that much too?!?!

Thanks Again!!!

I need help too, I'll be getting free spa credit from my TA but how do we know how much it's worth, those prices seem really expensive, I don't really want to pay extra. I thought it was for 100.00, but from the lists, things are more than 100

here is the scoop. When we asked about the credit for the spa treatment we were given three choices, a facial, a relexologoy treatment or a Swedish massage. They were all 50 minute treatments and valued at $130.00 We did not have to pay anything but the added tip which I think was 18%. I got the Swedish massage and my friends took the reflexology. The therapist asked them if they would prefer 25 minutes of reflexology and 25 minutes of massage and that is what they ended up doing.

Hope that clears thing up.

Enjoy!!

The TA should be able to give you details on what the spa credit covers. You usually have to book on board for those perks.

DAY TWO CON'T

So now I am really relaxed and went back to the cabin to get ready for formal dinner #1. Before dinner I went out to take some pictures of the sunset....

We do not do Official RCCL pictures so we all stopped into Central Park for some pictures of us wearing our "formal attire"

Dinner in the MDR was pretty good. Best dish for me was the beef tenderloin.

After dinner we all went to see Hairspray. The first half of the show was terrific!! The second half...well they did not have a second half. Our cruise director came out and told us that due to a technical difficulty they had to cancel the remaining part of the show. Heard later during the cruise that the lead (Tracey) had a severe injury and could not return to the show. BREAKING NEWS...BREAKING NEWS..... Hairspray is going to be re-scheduled for 10:15 PM on Day 7 of the cruise, so come in shorts and tee shirts to the show!!!

Looking forward to hearing about Bernards in St Martin. Did you arrange your own tour, or do one of theirs?

We went for a private tour. The six of us in a very comfortable air conditioned van. The cost for the six of us was $400 and well worth the price. David our guide was wonderful and knew so much about the Island. We did want we wanted and he gave us a great day.

As good as that roast beef sandwich looks, it pales in comparison to the two lovely ladies! Keep those pictures coming! (not the roast beef ones either ;)..LOL)

Really looking forward to the rest of the review.

More pics of the girls to come and a surprise!

Enjoying the review so far and look forward to more. My husband and I will be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary on the Oasis this May! I look forward to learning all I can about the ship.

Happy Anniversary!!! Is SC South Carolina or Southern California? My wife is from Southern CA.

Hope I can give you some useful info.

Wow, thanks for posting all of those cruise compasses. Went on the Oasis of the Seas 1/2/10 and found her to be the dullest ship we've been on. Seemed like they were relying on people to do open ended activities (flowrider, zip line, etc.) more than organized events. Certainly looks like they've learned, that compass looks loaded!

Oh Yes, there was so much that I wanted to do but did not have the time!

I guess I will just have to go on the Oasis again:)

Somewhere do you have a list of the bars and lounges? Also, do you have the prices for the specialty restaurants?

Great job, so far!

Sorry I do not have a list of the bars and lounges, I think the review of megacruiser has a list. Prices for Specialty restaurants: 150 CO $40/pp Chops $35/pp Giovanni's $25/pp Solarium Bistro $20/pp

I dont care about compasses, I want more pretty girls!!!

more coming up...stay tuned!

Hello caneguy,

I am really enjoying your review and photos, and it's especially interesting to compare your experiences with mine. I will be following this intently.

I am so glad your enjoyment of 150 Central Park was similar to mine and I can vouch for the value for money that such amazing food represents. Can I ask how you discovered the 20% first night discount?

Thanks also for the name checks. It has given my review a new lease of life...

Kind regards

megacruiser

Hi Megacruiser,

I so enjoyed reading your review!!! You deserve another "new lease" on your review. Thanks for looking into mine. I can only hope that I can get as many people to look at mine as you did!!

What happened at 150 CP was we were walking to the restaurant almost as soon as we boarded to see the different menus ( I wanted to make my reservations at all the specialty restaurants) to see which part of the week we wanted to go and the two gentlemen at the front told us that if we went the first night of the cruise we would get 20% off the bill so we took the offer. We also went the last night and received another 20% off for dinning there a second time!!

Congrats for your son! Love all the pics, my girls love the H2O zone on the Indy and Freedom, but from the glimpse of your pics I think they'll love the Oasis more :D

Thanks so much for the congrats! The H2O zone looked like a lot of fun, the kids there were having a great time.

Enjoying your review and photos, DW and I were onboard the Oasis last Fall and will be sailing on the Allure this Fall in the one of the bump out Jr. Suite Cabins, one question, how large was the sofa in your cabin?

I think you can sit 3 adults on the sofa.

Cane guy! Found your review...and thank you for the shout out:o:D

I love that everyone looks for the Flowrider house now;)

Looks like a great trip and you got some great photos! I'm very jealous about your beautiful girls...I like my own, but. I wish I had girls who smile, look at the camera, whose arms don't hang off their bodies at weird angles (and those were just the "good" photos:rolleyes:) whose eyes don't roll out of their heads when someone raises a camera. You are lucky to have young ladies who happily pose and it looks like you all had a lovely time (still waiting for a photo of your lovely lady- you know, the gorgeous one from whom your girls got their great looks? ;))

Looking forward to the rest of your review! :D

Hello Familygoboston,

Wow, I have so enjoyed reading your reviews!! So as you can see by the recent posts that the girls are not my daughters. The parents are very close friends of ours, the Mom is my wife's best friend. I remember reading about the "arms at weird angles". Well one of the girls has an advantage in taking pictures. Her job is to look into a camera and smile, yes she is a professional model working in NYC. She has given me permission to post a few of her pictures from jobs she has done, so here are a few...

Ah, ha! I see now that I re read your first post and see the photo of their family...sorry about that! We have a niece who models professionally and since she was a tot, my DH could take any photo of her and the camera always "loved" her- she never takes a bad picture! Clearly, these young ladies have that quality too! I hope they enjoyed their cruise as much as my girls enjoy cruising, even if they do it more "photogenically" ;) Your own son sounds like he's having an amazing adventure! We loved Australia, so you can't blame him for wanting to spend more time there!

Looking forward to your review...and happy anniversary BTW! Congrats to you both! 25 years is quite an accomplishment, I'm finding more and more that it's rare for people to be married that long and still be happy- I guess we are the lucky ones! ;)

Your review is really well done. It is always interesting seeing someone's perspective through their pictures; they're really good.

We stayed on the ship when we were in Nassau (I never do that) but thanks to the mini-documentary of your day I feel like I was there anyway ;)

I am not a CruiseCompass person but I was wowed by your compass display. Nice job!

Reviews take a lot of time, especially with pictures. I imagine your wife calling from the other room, 'are you STILL working on that review???' That's time for a 'yes dear, almost done'.

Good luck, I hope you get to finish it!
