Hazydavo Posted September 25, 2014 #529 Share Posted September 25, 2014 (edited) Was over on the roll call thread and this looks like the last semi-official info received from a TA was... As you know, Sea Princess experienced a technical difficulty with the ship's crank shaft earlier this year which resulted in our inability to operate at full speed but never posed a safety concern. As the repair was being carried out in Fremantle on 9/13, an additional technical issue with the propeller shaft bearing was identified. As the safety of our guests and crew is always our absolute priority, we have determined that the technical issues must be addressed immediately. The current voyage has been cancelled, and once all guests have disembarked Sea Princess will make its way to Sydney for repairs. At this time we are hopeful that your client's voyage will operate as scheduled; however, this ultimately depends upon the repair schedule. We will be certain to keep you informed of any changes as updates become available. Doesn't appear to have been an update since though  Essentially a bit more than a day left now to get the thing fixed! COME ON! joker_aus Posted September 26, 2014 #531 Share Posted September 26, 2014 Dear Valued Passenger, Before you embark on your cruise holiday, Princess Cruises have some important updates to share with you: As you know, Sea Princess has been in repair at the Garden Island dry-dock in Sydney over the past several days. We have received an update from our technical experts which indicates the repair will require more time than originally anticipated. While we were hopeful that we would not need to make any alterations to your cruise holiday, we have determined this delay necessitates changes to our planned itinerary. Sea Princess will now provide a 13-day itinerary departing from Sydney instead of Brisbane on Tuesday, September 30 and will no longer call to Auckland. Based on your point of origin, alternative travel arrangements for all guests, at our expense, have been made so that you may join the ship in Sydney. Needed flight and hotel arrangements will be sent to you shortly. All guests will receive a one-day per diem refund, a $100 per person onboard credit, a refund of the taxes, fees, and port expenses for Auckland, and 30% of your cruise fare paid on this voyage in the form of a Future Cruise Credit. Thank you for your continued patience and we look forward to your arrival. Thank you for your attention to this notification.

joker_aus Posted September 26, 2014 #540 Share Posted September 26, 2014 Dear Princess Guest: As previously communicated, Sea Princess has been in repair at the Garden Island dry-dock in Sydney over the past several days. Work has been progressing and we have recently received an update from our technical experts which indicates the repair will require more time than originally anticipated. While we were hopeful that we would not need to make any alterations to your cruise holiday, we have determined this delay necessitates changes to our planned itinerary, in order to ensure calls to the other six out of the original seven ports will be protected. As a result, Sea Princess will now provide a 13 day itinerary which will embark guests in Sydney instead of Brisbane on Tuesday, 30 September. We fully recognise these are challenging and disappointing circumstances and want to do our best to ensure you are able to experience your cruise holiday. We have mobilised our shore side team to arrange alternative travel arrangements for all guests, at our expense, so that you may join the ship in Sydney instead of Brisbane. Further, in recognition of these changes, all guests who sail on this voyage will receive a one-day per diem refund, as well as a $100 per person onboard credit plus a refund of the taxes, fees, and port expenses for the cancelled call to Auckland. Refunds will be applied to your shipboard folio. Additionally, you will receive 30% of your cruise fare paid on this voyage in the form of a Future Cruise Credit. The credit may be applied to any future Princess Cruise booked by the end of December 2015. The revised itinerary is as follows: Date Port Arrival Departure Tuesday, 30 September Sydney 7:00 PM Wednesday, 1 October at sea Thursday, 2 October at sea Friday, 3 October at sea Saturday, 4 October Tauranga 5:30 AM 4:30 PM Sunday, 5 October Napier 10:30 AM 7:00 PM Monday, 6 October Wellington 9:00 AM 6:00 PM Tuesday, 7 October Akaroa 8:00 AM 6:00 PM Wednesday, 8 October Dunedin (Port Chalmers) 8:00 AM 6:00 PM Thursday, 9 October Fiordland National Park 9:00 AM 5:00 PM Friday, 10 October at sea Saturday, 11 October at sea Sunday, 12 October at sea Monday, 13 October Brisbane 7:00 AM We have secured air arrangements for your transportation from Brisbane Airport to join the ship in Sydney on Tuesday, 30 September. Princess will provide complimentary transfers from the airport to the pier in Sydney. The cruise will end as scheduled in Brisbane on Monday, 13 October which allows use of your originally scheduled homeward plans. For your convenience, your personalised flight details to Sydney are provided below. Name: THEORIST, CONSPIRACY Airline: Virgin Australia Flight Number: *** Departure Date: 30 September 2014 Departure City: Brisbane Departure Time: *** Arrival City: Sydney Arrival Time: *** Airline Record Locator: *** Air arrangements have been made based on your home address which you or your travel agent supplied via CruisePersonalizer. Once you have notified us of your decision to cancel, the refund will be automatically processed via the method of payment for your cruise. SeaDog-46 Posted September 26, 2014 #546 Share Posted September 26, 2014 There is no change to Sea Princess departure on Sydney Ports. If there was a later departure from drydock to a berth in Sydney & a later sailing to NZ - it should be showing.
