Pools on the Allure

I've read there's 21 pools on the Allure.

Are any of them bigger pools where you can swim/exercise?

When do the pools "open"?

At what time do you have to be outside to get a decent bed by the pools where the kids will be playing?

Are there any pools you would recommend/stay away from?

Silly question, but what do you wear when going to and from the pool to the cabin? What about on your feet?

There is at least one pool open 24 hours.

We wear flip flops or sandals to the pool.

We also like to wear our robes.;)

Do you bring your own robes, or are there robes in the cabin?

What about towels by the pool, do you bring from the cabin?

I was just kidding about the robes.

There are towels by the pool that you can check-out.

I was on the Allure at the end of 2013. I wrote a review and posted it with over 300 photographs (including several pictures of the pool deck). Here is a link to the review ...

There are only 4 pools...1 of them is Adult Only.

4 pools including the Solarium, an adults-only retreat*

10 whirlpools, two of them cantilevered whirlpools overlooking the ocean

You wouldn't think that would be a controversial subject, but it is. Some people think wearing a robe to and from the pool is equal to incest or robbery. I usually hang around the pools till I dry off but will wear my robe to and from the hottub at night before turning in. On Allure I have stayed on deck 12 so I usually walk the stairs to and from the pool, but when coming back from the hot tub at night when people are dressed for the evening and I'm wet the robe helps me keep from getting others wet or dripping on their shoes!

The pools are small and crowded....lap-swimming is nearly impossible. 3-5 strokes, and turn!

PLEASE don't wear your bathrobe to the pool or buffet.....wear a swimsuit coverup (women) or tee shirt (men)

If Bob wears the robe to the pool, it must be OK! So Bob, starting a new trend? Inquiring minds want to know - is there a speedo under that robe?

They have got to be counting hot tubs in that total.

Don't forget aqua theatre. ;)

Seems like I've read the "21 pools" thing before too, but I have no idea how you can come up with that number, even with hot tubs and aqua theater! Maybe if you count the hot tubs on the balconies of the largest suites?

They are all small and crowded during the day. You would have to go early or late if you want to do short laps. There is one circular current pool which is pretty neat, but you can't really do laps and it is very crowded with kids when open.

When do the pools "open"? At least one is always open, but I beleive the kids section is always shut down at night.

At what time do you have to be outside to get a decent bed by the pools where the kids will be playing?

There are no beds by the kids area, only a few loungers and mostly chairs. It is very crowded in this area during the daytime on sea days. You would have to be early!

Are there any pools you would recommend/stay away from?

Stay away from the kids area unless you have kids ;)

Silly question, but what do you wear when going to and from the pool to the cabin? What about on your feet?

Sandals, bathing suit, t-shirt, baseball cap and a big smile.

Hope this helps.

Because you are in the water and can't put anything on the ground.

You can't put anything on the ground??? If you can't put your feet on the ground, how do you walk in the shallow end where it is not deep enough to swim???

How are the tables supported if you can't put the table legs on the ground? Are these floating tables?
