hunt182644 Posted January 23, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 23, 2015 Since bbq can mean different things, what does the bbq. on hmc consist of?
Dobermangal Posted January 23, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 23, 2015 Ribs burgers salads dessert corn on cob and a few more meat and side items not super extravagant and they have lots of identical stations going so it's quite efficient!
iflyrc5 Posted January 23, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 23, 2015 burgers, fish, hot dogs, 2 or 3 types of salads, fruit and brownies. Water, ice tea and lemonade. There is a bar near the BBQ pavilion and 2 bars on the beach. You will also see lots of free range chickens running around the picnic table area. sail7seas Posted January 23, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 23, 2015 Ice tea and ice water station with cookies and brownies. :) Lots of salad items including potato salad, bean, fruit salad, tossed salad, tomatoes, onions etc, ribs, burgers, hot dogs, might be one fish or another off the grill. Food is just fine for exactly what it is. We love sitting in our swimsuits, at picnic benches, seeing the wild roosters walk around, see the beautiful bougainvilia flowers ,,,,,,, I always enjoy our lunch at HMC. :) We usually have a bloody mary at I Could Stay Her Forever and then head over to lunch. taxmantoo Posted January 23, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 23, 2015 (edited) We always get our food at the BBQ and head over to Captain Morgan (just a few steps away) for a seat at the bar where we can eat, drink and listen to music :D Much less busy than the crowded buffet area ... Krazy Kruizers Posted January 23, 2015 #7 Share Posted January 23, 2015 Sometimes we will get off the ship and have a drink at "I wish I could Stay Here Forever" bar. We did the BBQ a few times but much prefer to return to the ship to have a quiet lunch on the ship.
Rare Vict0riann Posted January 23, 2015 #8 Share Posted January 23, 2015 Love those "wild" chickens - glad they're not on the BBQ!
Typhoon1 Posted January 23, 2015 #9 Share Posted January 23, 2015 Quite a bountiful assortment of different foods when compared to other private islands. At GSC, they only offered hot dogs and hamburgers. Along with iced tea. Very well organized, so don't worry about having to stand in line too long. The first couple of times, the barbecue is really fun but thereafter, we like to enjoy the Wish I could stay here forever bar and then head back to the ship for a quiet lunch. I guess we are getting older.
PathfinderEss Posted January 24, 2015 #11 Share Posted January 24, 2015 (edited) Its a very nice BBQ and fun to go to and the food is good. Try it once and then make up your mind if you want to do it again. Anytime we go over to the island we do the BBQ and have a drink. RMLincoln Posted January 24, 2015 #12 Share Posted January 24, 2015 The BBQ was ok, I especially like the fish. But since our first time at the BBQ we now go back to the ship before the lines for the tenders get long in the hot sun and we prefer to have a quieter lunch on board. hunt182644 Posted January 24, 2015 Author #13 Share Posted January 24, 2015 The free range chickens sound like the ones we seen on Kauai. Our tour guide said they were protected during daylight hours, open season after dark.:D
