disneykins Posted February 18, 2015 #426 Share Posted February 18, 2015 Just bought more obc for Allure March cruise. The rate is still 1.10 and a limit of under $500 to do it over the phone. Called the 800-722-5443 number. Tony
Clarea Posted February 18, 2015 #427 Share Posted February 18, 2015 I find it very hard to believe that we can send people to the moon, but we can't deal with 2 currencies--- especially the rare US and Canadian dollars, lolIt's all good.... I sent an email for my reservations :) The last time we sent people to the moon was the 70's. We cannot do it anymore.

Ken at the beach Posted February 22, 2015 #433 Share Posted February 22, 2015 Does a limit apply on what quantity you can buy still buy? Some reps are saying max 499. Many of us have bought more. I bought $500 twice and others have bought more.

d10k6 Posted February 23, 2015 #435 Share Posted February 23, 2015 Do you mean a 10% premium. 10% is the current exchange rate that RCI is using. You are buying $500OBC (in USD) for $500+10% = $550CDN

That would be great :) The 10% exchange rate is a pretty nice gift seeing as you would be lucky to get 20% from any bank or credit card. Buy now while you can! Canadian Tyler Posted February 23, 2015 #439 Share Posted February 23, 2015 If one has too much OBC, is it refundable at the end of the cruise?
Ken at the beach Posted February 23, 2015 #440 Share Posted February 23, 2015 If one has too much OBC, is it refundable at the end of the cruise? Yes. Guest services last day. Refund in cash. I have not heard anyone having it refunded to a credit card so I will avoid that route.
macmax Posted February 23, 2015 #441 Share Posted February 23, 2015 A 10% exchange rate is a fabulous deal but don't forget that most credit card companies will charge an add'l 2.5% service fee just to do the conversion.

The Sunset Glow Posted February 23, 2015 #444 Share Posted February 23, 2015 Does a limit apply on what quantity you can buy still buy? It depends on who you get. It's a $500 limit (over that amount and you have to fax in the card and ID). They seem to have different way of interpreting this maximum amount. They don't seem to know if the cutoff should be at $500 or $499 and whether that's in US or CND funds. The rep we got took it to the extreme and said it's up to $499 CDN so we only got just over $450 US on 2 cruises. If we want more we just have to call back though. iveyman Posted February 23, 2015 #445 Share Posted February 23, 2015 The 1.1 exchange rate still working. Booked $499 as OBC for our March break Allure cruise. Anything more required paperwork re: sending CC and PoI . Will likely top up another $499 tmrw. Big thanks to OP.

trev71 Posted February 24, 2015 #448 Share Posted February 24, 2015 True. Enjoy. Plus as I said before you can get credit cards here in Canada with no service fee, that does not charge the exchange fee rate 2.5% if you were to use your card in the usa. d10k6 Posted February 24, 2015 #449 Share Posted February 24, 2015 If one has too much OBC, is it refundable at the end of the cruise? If you put your money down as OBC then yes, it is refundable. If you are given OBC as part of a promotion I do not think it is refundable (perhaps someone else can chime in). If it isn't, you can always cash it in at the casino but you have to pay a premium. Which credit cards are the ones that don't charge the extra 2.5%?
