Rare Cayman Turtle Posted March 20, 2015 #76 Share Posted March 20, 2015 Just off Explorer a couple of weeks ago. I ordered a Pina Colada on the pool deck and when the bill came it was for $14. Needless to say, that was the first and the last one that I bought. It didn't even come in the souvenir glass. The Grapes or Grains package was offered and my husband purchased that but it seems like this package was a one time deal, possibly because Explorer was headed to dry dock and they wanted to clear out the shelves. It included 4 different beers and they ran out of one of them before the end of the cruise. I also didn't see a bar list anywhere on board, but they drinks package flyers were everywhere. Most cocktails did start at $10, with the premium cocktails running to $14 (including gratuity).
NightOne Posted March 21, 2015 #77 Share Posted March 21, 2015 Don't suppose you could upload a snap of the beer list so I can see what's included? Do they still have Sierra Nevada? Thanks Yes, I had some Sierra Nevada Pale Ales. More later once I get home. We are docking very soon. :)
American Bear Posted March 21, 2015 #78 Share Posted March 21, 2015 This is all WAY TOO FUNNY! If people want to pay 10-12.00 dollars per drink (PLUS TIP) they are happy and/or fools. Or get the drink package and go for it all day/night long. Of course the debate will go on forever. Bottom line, RCCL charges ridiculous prices for drinks. But some people will justify/defend them and say they pay the same at home. Bottom line - pay ABSURD prices for drinks on RCCL. OR.....get your Diamond drinks for free and call it good. OMG - if they read this they will change things. Oh no they won't, because there will be thousands of guests who will pay the price for a drink package and/or pay the pathetic per drink price........ Agreed, D+ free drinks and Casino Club free drinks are the way to go, cause these prices are insane! Imagine the Casino Club free drinks will go bye bye soon, with D+ free drinks shortly after! American Bear Posted March 21, 2015 #79 Share Posted March 21, 2015 Thanks buddy. I don't think almost anyone gets it - RCCL and all the lines are making a FORTUNE on booze. Most funny part is that RCCL and other lines have convinced people that their booze policies are about liability and not PROFITS. Good for them people keep buying, it subsidizes our trip.:) In the meantime we will continue to enjoy our free drinks at the Diamond Lounge.................:) Not all the lines, we took a 14 day B@B on MSC out of Miami and they offered 2 drink pkge variations, one was a book of drink vouchers, 14 vouchers for $72./$5.14 a drink, the other was 'unlimited' anything for about $44./day! RCL has just gotten greedy! Someones got to pay for those new ships!

Donsyb Posted March 21, 2015 #82 Share Posted March 21, 2015 Confused with the drinks packages. Do all the packages include premium coffee and tea? No, only Royal Replenish or Ultimate include those.
denatravels Posted March 21, 2015 #83 Share Posted March 21, 2015 I did not post the link because I think it is against CC rules, because it is from another travel site. But if you put "2015 Royal Caribbean Drinks List" in Google, it should bring you right there. I had started to go through all the pictures on Gambee's list of 2013 and 2014 Royal drinks list and I was manually writing in all the info on a spread Sheet, and after I had about 12 cocktails with all the descriptions and names, it was taking me forever and said to myself: "There has got to be someone that has already gone through all this trouble" so I looked up on Google and found that list. dp The drinks list from this was very helpful-- but I believe that some of the information is inaccurate, as it states that all passengers in a stateroom must purchase the package AND that it must be purchased on day 1 only. It is not outdated-- very recent.

waterbugohio Posted April 2, 2015 #87 Share Posted April 2, 2015 Here are the prices from our bar bill last week. I can thank Royal for this increase in prices, as they didn't get near as much money from us. We really scaled back on what we drank. Drank more on the islands and lots less on the ship. And unfortunately the servers got NO extra tips. The 18% tip is plenty in my book. First day, at sailaway we got a Miller lite bottle and a Pina Colada, sorry this is the only receipt I can't find. But assuming from the others, the beer was $6, and the PC was $12.50 Somehow this bill doesn't add up though. Total for these two drinks was $21.75 ???? A Dos Equis Bottle Was $5.50 + .99 = $6.49 20 oz draft $6 + 1.08 = 7.08 Miller Lite Alum bottle $6 + 1.08 = 7.08 Hubby had a couple of these:) And the last night another Miller Lite and a Mudslide in the Schooner Bar $10 + 1.80 = 11.80 Total spent on alcohol for seven nights on the ship $75.44 They must be making their money off the people buying packages, as they sure didn't make much off us. Ausie53 Posted April 3, 2015 #91 Share Posted April 3, 2015 Just got off Voyager of the seas, have been on Radiance and Rhapsody before ,great ships, service good ,drinks price on a par with HAL,Princess. What a shock to find not only had the drinks increased in price, but the range of drinks had decreased by half. The drinks packages were being offered and pushed, and asking the bar staff the meaning of not having proper bar menu's they said they were to push only the packages ,All cocktails $18.45 australian, glass of wine min $11.85 australian, no wines on the list available, only what was offered each day and that changed each day. Very cheap Australian wines offered and there prices fluctuated from each bar and each day, no consistency. Complaints to the beverage manager were laughed off,as if this couldn't happen. Normally we would have spent $1000 on a 16 day cruise and drunk well, if we had taken the package the bill would have come to $2816 ( aust), If Royal Caribbean continues with this price pointing I think a lot of people will look at better alternative's. Now to be fair these prices do include tips, but at a 60% increase from last RCC cruise a bit to steep for us.
lyban Posted April 10, 2015 #92 Share Posted April 10, 2015 Interesting thread, I think we will do what others said and we will drink some but cut it down a lot. Can anyone give me an idea of what are prices like for beer or wine or a fancy cocktail while off ship, in st Thomas and st. Maarten. Thanks
jticarruthers Posted April 10, 2015 #93 Share Posted April 10, 2015 Depends where you go in St Thomas/St Maarten, I have gotten bottles of local beer for $2 or so just walking around, also paid similar prices to on board ship for a fruity frozen drink for the wife sitting in one of the waterfront café/bars. I think if you look around you can get much cheaper drinks on shore though.
SDA1125 Posted April 15, 2015 #94 Share Posted April 15, 2015 (edited) In St. Maarten there is a little place called Sharky's. As soon as you exit the ship its there on your left - its a little shack. Buy one get one half off last May - only a couple $$$ compare to the ship prices. jaydc2 Posted April 15, 2015 #95 Share Posted April 15, 2015 Does the Ultimate package still have the $10 alcohol and $12 wine limit like the premium package or did RC remove the limits on the Ultimate package with the new prices? I bought the premium package for my next cruise but considering upgrading to ultimate if there are no limits now.

Sherri914 Posted April 15, 2015 #97 Share Posted April 15, 2015 I've read about - and seen pictures of - bar menus that no longer have prices. I seem to recall someone posting that they were told that was attributed to a printing mistake or something like that, and that the new menus would include prices. Does anyone know about that? Secondly, I've read that these new menus are also very pared down compared to what cocktails were available before. Is this true? Do they offer a wide variety of frozen cocktails now? I was on Liberty for the April 2nd Sailing. It is true that there are very few menus. The hoof and claw pub had a one page beer menu and listed some cocktails, mostly the classics. There was one 3 page flyer type document that you may have seen floating around on CC, that was visible here & there, but only a small selection of cocktails were on it. Mostly a wine list and lots of push for the bev pkgs I did however have my tablet with me and referred to it a few times to order some of the more elaborate frozen drinks and such from the pool bar. One time they were out of the pomegranate mix but they did make the others ones such as : UK Elderfire, Frozen Mai-Tai, Wildberry Lava flow. dp Edited April 15, 2015 by dpostman
beancounterbeth Posted April 15, 2015 #99 Share Posted April 15, 2015 This is so confusing with everything changing. So I just looked online for my June Oasis cruise and it is quoting me $57.82/D for the Premium package. Since people are saying the price sometimes does and doesn't include the 18% is that price with or without the 18%? Also, now that the prices of the drinks are going up what is my cap on how much my drinks can cost with this package? I sure wish RCCL would lay all this out there on their web site before you purchase a drink package with them. :(
