Colo Cruiser Posted March 27, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2015 Here is an old thread with some answers but not many. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=930527&highlight=cruise+critic+abbreviations
rdsqrl Posted March 27, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 27, 2015 (edited) Anything starting with a "D" is some abbreviation for a family member: husband, wife, daughter, son, sister, mother, father, friend . . . You'll note several of those begin with the same letter, meaning it's guesswork at best to figure out to whom any given post is actually referring. Apparently, the resistance to spelling things out is based on the assumption that the keyboard will wear out if the letters are actually used too much. Somewhat similar to drivers who resist use of the turn signal, fearing it will invalidate their warranty, I presume. Steviewonder1 Posted March 27, 2015 #15 Share Posted March 27, 2015 On Princess it is not a "Lifeboat Drill" it is referred to as "The Ship's General Drill". I found this out while scheduling our last Meet and Greet on our Eastern Med Cruise with one of the reply's that said you can have Skywalkers following "The Ships General Drill". crochetcruise Posted March 28, 2015 #16 Share Posted March 28, 2015 Objects in mirror are closer then they appear. :D You got me too! SO obvious when you explain though. Thanks for the discreet warning to watch my distances, I'm not real strong at estimating space to move in. nukesubsailor Posted August 29, 2017 #23 Share Posted August 29, 2017 Be careful using CC. I have seen it used for Cruise Critic, Credit Card, Captain's Circle, Club Class. If there is any question about something you are going to type, spell it out. If you don't have time to type it out, you probably don't have time to be on this forum.
