Sea plane crash in 2015 - NTSB Report is Out

Recommended Posts

erewhon, yes this was a HAL excursion.

This company had a crash in 2009 too, caused by an engine failure. No one died then thankfully, four were injured.

Prayers to the families of the victims.

And in 2013 (no one died): http://www.adn.com/article/20130724/floatplane-crash-injures-4-prince-wales-island

And this happened last month in Ketchikan with a float plane: http://www.adn.com/article/20130724/floatplane-crash-injures-4-prince-wales-island

What terrible news - I can't imagine the impact it has not only on the families and friends of the victims, but also the crew and passengers remaining on the ship. Prayers for all involved.

Smooth Sailing ! :):):)

No media outlet is reporting this. All that is known is the plane was found against a granite rock 800 feet above Ella Lake. No word yet on survivors.

I'm so sad and sick with this tragedy. Was just in Ketchikan in May and was thinking to take a float plane next time -Have the brochure in hand. I currently fly on a float weekly between Vancouver and Victoria and see the Westerdam in port. Prayers for the families. RIP

was praying for a miracle. So unbelievable. We just came back from Alaska and did the plane tour. I will never go on that little plane again, We were tossed around like a kite I prayed most of the tour so scared. I almost kissed the ground when we got off.. What those poor people went through. RIP

Let's not forget that this didn't just impact the Westerdam and Holland America. How about some prayers for the pilot, their family, the people at Promech Air, and the town of Ketchikan (small town where I'm sure everyone knows everyone).

Keeping all those who have been impacted by this tragedy in my thoughts and prayers.

I was hoping for the best when I first heard a plane was missing. This is a tragedy.

I was recently watching some youtube vids of some of the plane excursions you can do from some of these popular ports.

I wonder if the weather got really bad quickly and overwhelmed the pilot.
