ETinCA Posted August 6, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2015 Still waiting on November 2016 bookings for Eurodam and others. Last week in Zuiderdam the Future cruise consultant Eva was zero help and knew nothing. Any idea what the holdup is and when they may come out? Thanks. RuthC Posted August 6, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 6, 2015 Any idea what the holdup is and when they may come out? I've no idea, but I'm starting to think my next husband will show up first.

Rare Vict0riann Posted August 6, 2015 #5 Share Posted August 6, 2015 Strange, isn't it? They don't go past the November 4 TA. Prinsendam list goes into April, 2017. I guess she has more of a fixed schedule, and the plans for Eurodam are still up in the air!

Rare POA1 Posted August 6, 2015 #8 Share Posted August 6, 2015 Prinsendam shows because of Grand Voyage schedules. Those have already been released. Yes, but all the other schedules have been released as well. They're just not available for booking. I suppose someone in Seattle will notice one day. I know a few people who decided to book a different line because they got tired of waiting. I thought that Holland America would have certainly put the itineraries out for the Explore 4 promo - which reads like it should apply. But it's been two and a half weeks. Tampa Girl Posted August 6, 2015 #9 Share Posted August 6, 2015 We booked the November 5, 2016, TA on the Oosterdam a month ago. Doesn't that show up?
Rare POA1 Posted August 6, 2015 #10 Share Posted August 6, 2015 We booked the November 5, 2016, TA on the Oosterdam a month ago. Doesn't that show up? It does. But nothing after that. My new theory is that they're bringing all the ships to Fort Lauderdale to use as floating hotels. You can have your pre cruise stay on one of the many lovely Holland America ships, and it's just a quick walk to your cruise on Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Cunard, etc. (I'm just kidding. There aren't enough berths. Also, it wouldn't be a short walk to the Princess terminal near the bridge.)
Krazy Kruizers Posted August 6, 2015 #11 Share Posted August 6, 2015 We have never waited this long to book cruises. I can see why some people on booking on other cruise lines.
Krazy Kruizers Posted August 6, 2015 #12 Share Posted August 6, 2015 TA just called back. HAL claims they will release the rest of the fall 2016 and 2017 winter itineraries in another month!! They are pushing people to book the Koningsdam.
ETinCA Posted August 7, 2015 Author #13 Share Posted August 7, 2015 Not good for HAL to wait. We, like many others, are looking at other lines now. If Konnigsdam would have offered 7 night Nov 16 cruises I'd have booked. Not everyone has 10-11 days.

They are pushing people to book the Koningsdam. That doesn't seem very strategic. It's not like they're the only ones plying the Caribbean. I guess it's good for Princess and Celebrity. Krazy Kruizers Posted August 7, 2015 #15 Share Posted August 7, 2015 You got that right. Our TA said that the Pinnacle Suite was open for 14 days in January -- we said No Thanks -- we aren't interested in that ship. Plus I have something else in mind for February. They are pushing people to book the Koningsdam. Holland America has marketing people that would never hold all itineraries so people book the newest ship, they have too many cabins to fill. I think they are sunsetting some ships and itineraries are in flux.

Krazy Kruizers Posted August 7, 2015 #18 Share Posted August 7, 2015 It isn't a good move. Wonder how many people will book on other cruise lines just to make certain they get the cabins they want?

I think they are sunsetting some ships and itineraries are in flux. I get your point about the ships, but the smaller ships run longer Caribbean itineraries. They're great, but I think it's suicide to ignore the demographic that would like the HAL experience but can only take a week long cruise. You can only reach so many ports on a 1 week sailing out of Florida. It's unfathomable why HAL can publish a Cruise Atlas but not translate that information into bookable sailings. qsuzi Posted August 7, 2015 #20 Share Posted August 7, 2015 Wake up HAL. Many cruisers will only wait so long before booking other cruise lines to get the best prices and cabins they want. I waited but now have booked two cruises with Princess because you still don't have your itineraries out!
durangoscots Posted August 7, 2015 #21 Share Posted August 7, 2015 I am one of those that is starting to look elsewhere. I am trying to coordinate two cruises .... but HAL is making it hard for me. May be the first will be Princess .... the second is already booked on HAL (a Grand Voyage) but I need that first one. Susan

They are pushing people to book the Koningsdam. And they aren't even doing that well. The Koningsdam mini-site hasn't been updated in MONTHS and there are still tons of spaces onboard they have not announced. They could also share menus for the restaurants they've already released etc. Hell, I would even take a rendering of the friggin casino at this point... OleSalt Posted August 8, 2015 #25 Share Posted August 8, 2015 We have cabin 400 on Maasdam for the Atlantic Adventure. Do you remember if it has the little lamp table next to the sofa? We would remove that and use the space for wheelchair storage. I also believe you said there is a shower rather than a tub. To save cluttering up the site here you can reply to e-mail "c6a3b att hotmail dott com" Many thanks
