Deployment 2017/18 - first guesses and implications

Recommended Posts

I've just checked the Dubai port schedule and there are no Royal Caribbean ships scheduled for 2018, only Celebrity and Azamara (plus other lines). Disappointing news for us as we were hoping to do Dubai again in 2018 :(

I originally thought Dubai would belong to "Exotics" - but apparently RCCL plans to drop down such Dubai/Emirates cruises - maybe also due to instable political circumstances in the Arabic regions...

But that would be typical for RCCL, very unreliable - changing and changging plans again, even when the deployments are due to be released...

Could well be that RCCL intends to bring the South America routes back, or selling Legend and Vision - which would be REALLY SAD!!! :(

We have been looking at the sailings for Freedom or Navigator for Thanksgiving week in 2018.

Today when we went to look at the sailing for Navigator, for 11/16/18, it says "SOLD OUT" in every category.

The Freedom sailing that departs 2/17/18 is still there....so we keep waiting and watching.

I'm confused, because I thought Royal's most recent deployments only go out until April 2018.

THANKS, clarea -- I just corrected the dates....thanks....we are always looking at both weeks...Thanksgiving and Presidents week....they work out the best to get the best bang out of vacation days.

Loads of Navigator sailing sold out between November 17 - April 18 ... hopefully it's just a glitch!

That's freaking me out a little bit, wondering if they're going to get cancelled

None of the 5-night sailings are sold out in that time frame, but many of the 9-nighters are. Yet currently, a few are still available to book online: Feb 2, 2018; Mar 2 and 16, 2018; and Apr 13, 2018.

I'm not experienced enough to know how to interpret this information and have an educated guess at the most likely outcome.

I read in the roll call that they pulled the inventory from the site but it's still bookable over the phone, but that doesn't leave me with warm fuzzies over what they might decide to do at a later date.

my guess is they are changing the itinerary a little. from what I hear, you can call directly and still book these dates.

My question was why all the Vision sails post August had disappeared as I was hoping to go to Dubai in Winter 2017-18. I really hope that both Legend and Vision don't transferr to other lines but I was told by a waiter on Serenade last October that Vision was the next on the list to go to Pullmantur.

We have such a short cruise window here in Europe i hope that we don't lose any further sailings in 2017.

Has there been any update on the Vision sailings? The September/October 2017 are still listed as sold out:confused:

Just received an email from Royal Caribbean as follows:

As an exclusive member, you're the first to know that from tomorrow, an extra 6 cruises will be added to Ovation of the Seas' 2017/2018 summer season.

You'll soon have a choice of 14 Ovation of the Seas' voyages, ranging from 3 to 14 nights, during the 2017/2018 summer.

Royal have Legend of the Seas on sale from 3 March 2017 Singapore to Dubai and Dubai to Barcelona 13 March 2017.

Royal has overnight port bookings in both Cairns and Darwin for late February.

Anyone know what Legend is doing after arrival Barcelona 26 March 2017.

Cruises from Brisbane 20 February 2017 and after have been shown as "sold out" for over a month now.

We still have Dubai to Venice booked for May 18th, wish I knew what was going on. They are also showing a Legend itinerary for March 31st from Brisbane, 5 days after she supposedly gets to Barcelona. !

Pullmantur :D:D after the awful Hkg to Bne repo last year I suggested in my customer satisfaction survey that if they didn't want to look after her they should ship her off to Spain :D so if it happens it's "my fault" by the way we are booked on the Singapore to Venice sectors in May ....oh happy days

I bet some minion is having a coronary in head office trying to work out the costs of reimbursing 9 cruises if they cancel them all.

Shameful the way it is all bring handled - on again, off again, on once more. Then today they have added two new Legend itineraries to clash with some of the "sold out" non-cancelled cruises!

Suppose all will be eventually revealed - at their leisure.

I only received this reply to my concern over the Legend sailing I am booked on for 20Feb17. I will be pretty annoyed if I have been lied to at this late stage.

Dear Mr xxxxxx

Thank you for contacting Royal Caribbean International.

In regards to your query, at the moment this sailing is closed for

inventory maintenance and your booking is secured. This does not mean that

the sailing is being cancelled, from time to time it is necessary to make

this Inventory maintenance. If there were to be any changes on the sailing

we would be notifying your travel agent with all the information possible

but at the moment this sailing is confirmed.

We appreciate your understanding.

Kind Regards,

Bryan Gaas, Reservations Specialist

WOW It's been confirmed today, a phone call to them, that the cruises have indeed been cancelled. We will be receiving an e-mail in the coming weeks.:eek::eek:

That's bull****, I emailed RCI on Friday and told them I was about to make a financial commitment for airfares for the cruise on the 20 February. I explained my concerns and told them my fares were not covered by travel insurance and if there was any issues please let me know and I would hold off and possibly pay a little more later. I received the above reply, no way they can say they didn't know if it is confirmed today. I'm going to go off.

At least you had a confirmation. I spoke with Royal Caribbean UK (in Guatemala ) as did my TA only within the last couple of hours and they denied any changes.

As my TA said to me, you will probably find out first on Cruise Critic. What away to run a company.
