AnonomissX Posted October 21, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 21, 2015 (edited) Sorry if this has been asked ( I'm sure it has somewhere ) what is the best side of the ship when cruising the Mediterranean ?? If the route taken is clockwise predominantly along a coast' date=' then on the [b']LEFT[/b] hand side. If the route is counter-clockwise, then the RIGHT hand side. If you are not really following a coastline, then get a guarantee cabin for less :p EDIT: I don't know my right from my left! I fixed it above  Edited October 21, 2015 by AnonomissX I was wrong!

AnonomissX Posted October 21, 2015 #5 Share Posted October 21, 2015 Barcelona' date=' sailing to Provence , Pisa, Rome & Capri...[/quote'] I fixed my mistake above...Your sailing is going clockwise, so the LEFT side will let you see the coastline the most. Fouremco Posted October 21, 2015 #6 Share Posted October 21, 2015 The outside! :) Sorry, couldn't resist. Given your itinerary, I'd recommend a cabin on the port side of the ship.
Ashland Posted October 21, 2015 #7 Share Posted October 21, 2015 Portside unless you can book a true aft...my corner aft (portside) amazing !!!
Mark-Sheffield Posted October 21, 2015 #8 Share Posted October 21, 2015 It's got to be port side.
dutchclogs Posted October 21, 2015 #9 Share Posted October 21, 2015 Rule by thumb think POSH ..... port (left) out, starboard (right) home. This based on sailing from UK to eastern Med and beyond. Agree OP should go for port.

CRUISEFAN0001 Posted October 21, 2015 #11 Share Posted October 21, 2015 I'd recommend a cabin on the port side of the ship. Agree...we were on the port side of Allure in June...and had fantastic views entering and departing each port.
pcur Posted October 21, 2015 #12 Share Posted October 21, 2015 General rule of thumb: Look at the itinerary map, look at the arrows showing the route, look at the land masses along the route. Choose the side of the ship based on whether you want to see land or the ocean. Works every time! :D:D
Cruisin' Again 86 Posted October 21, 2015 Author #13 Share Posted October 21, 2015 Thanks Everyone !!! We are PORT side mid-ship, so looks like we are in perfect position !!

ken_nyc Posted October 21, 2015 #15 Share Posted October 21, 2015 We are on the port side toward midship for June. Is smoking allowed on the balconies on the port side on the Allure out of Barcelona?
Clarea Posted October 21, 2015 #16 Share Posted October 21, 2015 We are on the port side toward midship for June. Is smoking allowed on the balconies on the port side on the Allure out of Barcelona? No smoking on the balconies any Royal ship, with the possible exception of those cruising out of China.
