It sat there until they cleaned it or swept it away ..i wetmy sandalspants etc .I wasnever offerd more than apologies .i had to request compensationfor the inconvenience ....not great customer service ..had to argue to get a free dinner atQsine ..The HotelManager was onevery tough unbendingwoman ..I wasnot. Impressed

The purser did help us in the end but I would have appreciatedwithout all the drama andblabla

They must resolve this wTer issue ..it is a royal pain .I liketo wTch the stars at night ....but managed toruinmy sandals. Have wet feet and wetbottoms of pyjamas becauseI didnot turn on the lights to step out ...bummer ....Not pleasant

To say the least not impressed with Celebrity customer service .....not up to par

Our ports were awesome .I love Southern Caribbean ..weather other than the torrential rains was awesome

Entertainment too early to attend ..but both pre Xmas and Xmas were quite good ...but ship is DEAD atnight ....good we restedfor our outings

Casino is a dud ...doesnot pay just takes ...booo

Was water from rain and if so, how is Celebrity at fault? Do other balconies have drains?

Also, if your balcony was wet, why did you wear sandals or long pants that you did not want to get wet? There are shorts and water shoes which a lot of people bring on their cruises, especially in warm weather areas.

That was really funny!

But I do sympathize with the OP, I can't remember whether our 11th deck veranda had a drain - I know the ones below (7,8,9) do have a drain under the rail. It might have been clogged. But it certainly was no need to be treated that you had to fight because of the inability to use your veranda.

And no, not all newbies (or veterans for that matter) feel they have to bring special shoes to sit on their own veranda!

Good one!!! 😀

Yesbut preferably drinkable not wadable on balcony

Of course Celbrity. Cannot stop rain ...but ..no drainsmeans water sits ...until you leave so they can clean it or push it thru otherbalconies with drains ...he opened othersto let water out

Learn to read ..i went out at night to watch the stars did not see 3 inches of water on balcony ...besidesI was supposed to wear abathing suit and water shoes at night ...according to you ...duh ...I wear pjs ..but you may be right ..maybe thats whythey call it aqua because its readily available onbalconies

We did have pretty good down pours

We had 1132 on the Connie and did not have this problem. It is understandable to have standing water if there is a downpour, but the water should recede after a reasonable amount of time.

I am more concerned over the "cleaning water" from above than I am rain water. We will be in a similarly located cabin on the Summit next Fall. With the new movie theater above us, perhaps they are cleaning that deck when previously, they did not because it was rarely used. :(

We had a flooded balcony problem on Connie in 2012. That, along with a host of other problems and terrible service on that cruise cured us of the cruising bug! We were taking 2 or 3 cruises a year, and now as I am 76 years young, I am evidently not wanted on board by the present management!

Fortunately, there are loads of alternatives to cruising!

Are you sure you're "cured" of the cruising bug? Methinks thou dost protest too much, if you're still hanging around here. Or, like a reformed drunk, are you trying to "cure" us too?

Would love to cruise again! We took a 2 year 'sabbatical', and then when Celebrity introduced the new Suite Class, we decided to give them another chance, and booked a RS on Eclipse for last May. Unfortunately a year ago I had a health scare, and our holiday insurers withdrew our cover. Insurance had always been difficult after my wife had cancer, and my scare was just to much for them to continue covering us.

Yes, I'm over the cruise bug, but not 'Cruise Critic'!

To everyone reading this, make the most of life while you can, we planned to do lots of things when we retired, but with flying not an option, is does limit us somewhat.

A Happy New Year to you all.

That's why my DH wants to cruise as much as possible, now! He retires this year at 62 years old.

Have you tried other travel insurance companies?

http://www.insuremytrip.com is a service that we use to compare companies and purchase insurance. They have a pre-existing waver for a few of their options. We chose CSA Luxe.

Sorry to hear that. Also surprised because we Americans have been told that you have such good health care in the UK. In the US if you buy Travel Insurance at the time of initial deposit, you can get coverage for existing conditions -- and they don't even check what that might be.

Why in the world would they construct new cabins without proper drainage? I was on 11 aft last cruise, and I don't remember having a problem, but then again it didn't rain that much, but if it did I'd be screaming. This is pure engineering/physics, not rocket science.
