Rare CruiserKris34 Posted February 27, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2016 I know there is no definite answer to this, but in general if we are looking at a 7 night Harmony cruise for 4/1/17 (spring break), do you think the prices will go up or down over the next year? Basically is there a trend that occurs? An inside cabin is $920/pp now. Thanks, Kris
1ParticularHbr Posted February 27, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 27, 2016 My experience, on last three cruises booked, is that prices are never lower than when the cruise opens for bookings so...the earlier you book, the better. We book balconies or suites...not sure if same logic applies for insides.
FSUNole Posted February 27, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 27, 2016 Without a doubt, up. You might find some last minute savings but not guaranteed and only crappy cabins left.
champagne123 Posted February 27, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2016 UP UP UP. We booked the Harmony last August for the week after you and it has only gone up up up. cb at sea Posted February 27, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 27, 2016 I've NEVER had a cruise I've book go down in price...ever!
Paul65 Posted February 27, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 27, 2016 Yes, they tend to go up as you get closer. Even when they drop close to sail time, it's normally not to a lower price than if you'd book a year+ in advance. It's possible that it will go down (and if you've booked, and it goes down before final payment time, you can get the lower price), but up is generally more likely. I rather take a crappy cabin than saving money and going with carnival :)
KevinKruzer Posted February 28, 2016 #11 Share Posted February 28, 2016 They are pretty steady........until a sale occurs- and prices go UP!
iuki Posted February 28, 2016 #12 Share Posted February 28, 2016 Only twice did the prices go down after booking, and we were given the lower price. We have 3 booked cruises and they have gone up 3%. 6%. and 10% We always book early. If it goes down before final payment, we get the new price unless the new price is for new bookings only. If the prices go up, we're ahead of the game.

bigsky Posted February 28, 2016 #14 Share Posted February 28, 2016 Wow... My cruises always go down. I always book ASAP to pick the cabin I want. If it goes down, it's a plus. Booked a month ago and has gone down already. I never go spring break time tho.... Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
Virtopia Posted February 28, 2016 #15 Share Posted February 28, 2016 I've had a couple cruises go down in price, but generally, they go up and since I book solo, I always book early as good solo pricing is a rarity.

SPacificbound Posted February 28, 2016 #18 Share Posted February 28, 2016 In general, how many months before the cruise date, do bookings open with RCI? What I have booked I believed it has averaged about 21 months.
Ourusualbeach Posted February 28, 2016 #19 Share Posted February 28, 2016 (edited) In general, how many months before the cruise date, do bookings open with RCI? Bookings open for the season once per year in the spring. For example the week of March 7th bookings will open for Caribbean itineraries covering the period from May 2017 through April 2018.
